Seriosly a gold membership is needed just to use youtube?
this is a service that most phones can use for free, why do microsoft feel they have the right to charge for an otherwise free service.

Same with Netflix..absolutely no reason why you need a gold membership.Seriosly a gold membership is needed just to use youtube?

lol @ M$.
I can go on my PS3 and use all the features of Youtube right now ... for FREE, heck I can use a web browser for free.
I can go on iphone right now and use Youtube for free, no contract required just wi-fi.
MS is a joke.

Had no idea you couldn't use youtube without gold. This is pure fail from MS but what else do you actually get from them lately? More fail.
it's because all the xbl stuff is still avalible.
in netflix you can join a party and everyone can watch a movie together where you sit in this funky little theatre.
it's silly but you still have to pay for that stuff.

You know its kind of funny lemmings always talk about Sony copying. This is kind of off topic, but did you know that that "siting in a funky little theatre watching a movie" Idea......microsoft blatantly stole that from Sony. Sony originally announced that to be a feature in Playstation Home when it was first revealed.it's because all the xbl stuff is still avalible.

It's MS, what do you expect?
They charge twice for Netflix
They charge for Facebook
They charge for Twitter
They charge for Party Chat
They charge for online multiplayer (the most ridiculous)
MS charges for things that are free, it's like their the bottled water companies.... What's funny though is watching people try and defend it, it's hilarious

really? will need to test that later..because im pretty sure silver memebers can join in party chat.To be fair, no one purchases Xbox Live for Facebook solely. It's for the main service which is online gaming, and it's been that way since 2001/2?It's MS, what do you expect?

You do realize that you can't do cloud storage on the PS3 without PSN+ right? You can't even use the cloud storage without Gold, can't use Facebook without having Gold.
That's why I use my PS3 as a media hub instead. It does so much more than the 360 anyways in that department.

You do realize that you can't do cloud storage on the PS3 without PSN+ right?Being a PSN+ member of course I do. You can still use Facebook on PS3 without + though. The 360 just fails in comparison in the media features department. The PS3 will turn my HDTV on and off automatically, the PS3 lets you watch videos continuously without having to press "play" for each individual one, and of course it plays Blu Ray movies. It also turns off automatically after downloads if you want it too, the 360 doesn't do that either. I don't know why anyone would prefer to use the 360 over the PS3 for media convenience if they have both.[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]

Don't like it? Get a PC. Or a PS3. Microsoft offers a service that they charge for. If you don't like it, stop complaining and go somewhere else. They won't care if Mr. Dvalo9 isn't paying his $60 because of the 10 million+ other people who are.foxhound_foxAnd the PC is the way to go with this stuff anyway. Why in the hell would you use a piece of crap app over the superior PC interface in the first place? It's not like you need a gaming pc to run them. I know, I know it's convenient. Whatever. I guess it doesn't bother me because I have a HTPC in my living room and never use those stupid apps in the first place. But why would you have an xbox and not have live anyway. You might as well just have a PS3. The 360 has no games anyway, right?

i'm not going to go into the stores bathroom and suck it out of the tap, sure it's cheaper to do that but ugh.

I don't play my 360 much anymore. There's only one game that I'd wanna play online, and that is the awesomely amazing Gears 3. But its still not enough for me to pay for Live Gold. If you let someone stick it in your bum, they'll continue to stick it until you say enough is enough.
If you have a gaming PC and a PS3, I seriously don't know why you should pay for Live. Perhaps for your XBL buddies? Well, that's a selling point I guess... Each person differs.
I don't think Youtube should allow it. MS tried the same with BBC iPlayer but the BBC had none of it and MS had to make it available to Silver members to use too.SaltyMeatballsI have to wonder if the Youtube app is lacking the ads that surround the standard site - from looking around it earlier it lacks it on the ui as a whole, but not sure if it eliminates ads prior to playing a video. Not saying it's right, but that could be a reason why MS justified making it available to Gold only.

Bottled water is just tap water, and not only that but it's harmful to the environment. The plastic they use in the bottles is really cheap and is meant to only be used once or twice, after that the plastic starts to break off, so if you buy a cheap bottle of water like Disani or whatever and you refill it more than twice, than you are actually drinking particles of plastic that get's mixed with the water.
And due to it being cheap plastic, it can't be recycled too well so it just sits in a landfill. Then you have the factories that produce the cheap plastic for the bottles and those hurt the lolcal animal habitats and the environement nearby. You can get the SAME thing for free, it's tap water. Actually it might be worse because they "purify" it of the natural resources and minerals in water. So your actually wasting money.
Wow that's terrible, isn't there ads in it as well? :lol:tomarlynNo, not on the UI at all - have to commend it for being extremely clean. Havent tried a video but will now.

If I need to use FB, I use a device designed for a quick, intuitive interface with it (my phone) and keep my 360 for gaming.

C'mon this is way off topic and just reaching, leave this alone. and bottled water is not tap water, its distilled at the very least, some even come from glacier streams.
