Xbox live silver or PSN-> PSN
XBL gold or PSN+-> PSN+
Live is better, PSN is free. Choose your poison :PlocopathoSpot on... If you think PSN is a better service then your lying to yourself... But PSN is free and thats awesome... But wish I had PSN Plus for that DC universe beta.. :(
Xbox Live. It's fully integrated into the Xbox. Unlike PSN which was obviously an after thought and is just a little icon at the end of the XMB.
Had they both been free,i'm pretty sure every sane person would pick XBL. Sadly this isnt the case and Live has a ridiculous price attached.

agreed.
I like if xbl was free like PSN, i dont care about all the other useless services we get with the account.
I do like the PSN store much better then whatever Xbox has. Also I love how there is a "delete card infomation" option on PSN and not jumping though hoops and spending 2+ hours on the phone. The only thing I think Xbox Live has on PSN is the party system, and much more comfortable mics. In the long run though it's not really wroth $60 a year. Plus I have absolutly no intrest in sports, so the price increase for ESPN (so I've heard) does me no good:evil:

In other words, if you could already use it on your computer. Just like pretty much every "amazing" feature XBL has.
Xbox Live because of its great community and overall experience. The fact that Xbox Live gets certain DLC MONTHS before PSN and chatting with numerous friends at the same time, sure we have to pay but its worth it compared to PSN that yes is free (not for long i feel) but you don't get a great online experience.

Oh no.
Plus although XBL is better (imo of course), its not worth anything above $40
i think you're right. the days of free console online models are approaching an end.Xbox Live because of its great community and overall experience. Who you have to thank for pay to play multiplayer:
Playstation 3 - Sony
Nintendo Wii - Nintendo

So ripping people off is now making money? Here I'll sell you warm water at $300 the glass but hey I'm just making money right?

Uhm, yes. Unless of course you rip off people without making money. And it's not just now.

No 15 minute patch downloads (Motorstorm 1, I timed it) or friend codes. Just a great service.Xbox Live because of its great community and overall experience. Yes you do, you pay your ISP for the online service and then you pay Microsoft for letting you use that service.
It is not worth paying for a service twice.kuraimenyou mean in your opinion, right? some of us (who actually, you know, use xbl and don't blindly bash it) feel the service is worth the fee. its fine if you don't, but don't assume the attitude that you know what's best for everyone.

On their product..

My ISP just gives me an Internet connection. It doesn't mean I automatically get everything on the Internet for free :|That you are paying for the same service twice is not opinion it is a fact.kuraimen
Xbox Live and the Internet connection are two different services dude. Just because one requires the other doesn't mean you're paying for the same thing.

Yeah what would be the purpose of paying an ISP the online service if you had to pay every device manufacturer for connectivity? Imagine if you had to pay every computer manufacturer you use your ISP service with for connection.[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="clone01"] have you used xbl gold? just curious. there's a reason i pay for it. and its certainly not because microsoft is forcing me too. and that analogy really doesn't work. a console is a luxury item, not a necessity for survival. really, though, i don't expect a very unbiased or logical answer from you, though.clone01You don't need warm water to survive either just water, and the analogy works, paying to play online $60 a year is a rip off and paying $300 for a glass of warm water is a rip off. no, it really doesn't. again, you must have some experience with xbl to hate it so much, right?
