Xbox Next can supposedly reach 10 TFLOPS that makes it faster than Titan X

With Global Foundries, AMD sells Kavari type APU with 245 mm^2 (28 nm process tech) size chip for $50 retail. Getting chips from GloFo is cheap.

Polaris 10's chip size is ~232 mm^2.

7870's GPU size is 212 mm^2 is not cheap as GloFo.

The new factor in the PC GPU market is Global Foundries.

10 TFLOPS in 2017 and 2018 would be yesterday's news.

For PS4 NEO, 20 percent clock speed increase for GPU i.e. 960 Mhz and 36 CU yields 4.4 TFLOPS. ZEN Lite 8 core 2.1 Ghz could add another +400 GFLOPS (assuming ZEN Lite keeps dual 256bit AVX/FMAC units). That's 4.8 TFLOPS.

One more PC generation later, it's 9.5 TFLOPS GPU + 500 GFLOPS CPU.

AMD ZEN's 256 bit AVXv2 has GPU like gather instructions.

The next AVXv3 has 512bit wide SIMD i.e. +800 GFLOPS from 8 core ZEN+ Lite at 2.1 Ghz. With AVXv3 512 bit, the CPU's SIMD extension resembles super-wide SIMD GPUs i.e. Intel's "Fusion" model.

I see everyone here is just so highly intelligent. If the Xbox next is a upgradeable system then of course it won't be that powerful at launch but what about after a upgrade several years down the road?

Just promise that you'll never talk to a video gamer developer and call them a toy maker. That would be extremely demeaning.

Let's also add that NVIDIA far out does AMD in efficiency, NVIDIA's lower TFLOP's are actually faster than AMD's.

NVIDIA DX11 driver uses DX12 style speed-up methods such as async task and MT, while AMD DX11 driver doesn't have these features.

Under DX12, NVIDIA's async task and MT DX12 style speed-up methods was nullified.

ASUS 980 Ti at 1380Mhz yields 7.7694 TFLOPS

Fury Nitro (56 CU) at 1050Mhz yields 7.526 TFLOPS

That has nothing to do with efficiency whatsoever. AMD generally wins in comparable compute tasks, which is what FLOPs are meant to measure.
