The implication that we're supposed to believe Microsoft is amusing.

Apparently not even the PS4 will have all games running at 1080p.

Let's all get a Wii-U I guess.

–]XboxOneDev [punteggio nascosto] 2 ore fa*

"I hope you aren't fans of 1080P on Xbox One."

Is he suggesting only Xbox One games will be natively non-1080p and all PS4 games will be natively 1080p?

There have also been rumors of PS4 retail hardware overheating and crashing. Might be why they haven't sent any of them to retail with kiosks yet. Time will tell. The next year should be interesting.

Do you even read or you just go full damage control mode without reading.?

MS is admitting faulty hardware they did not deny it,they claimed it is some stress test units..

@blackace

You guys have been repeating that same bs about Neogaf forever now. lol, proof that Neogaf is owned by Sony? Do you have it? Just because there seems to be a lot of PS4 fans within that forum? I could say the same thing about Gamespot forums as well. Does that mean that System Wars is owned by Sony too? XD.

I'm not saying that CBOAT is spoutng "TRUTHFACT" (rofl), I'm just relaying the fact that Microsoft really isn't popular this time around since the reveal, so naturally, there will be more fans from the competition. You guys and you conspiracy theories are laughable.

I swear, a lot of you guys are starting to sound like MisterXMedia these days ..

Hmm i certainly hope this proclamation is false. It would be a big shame if people invest in this console and it will be limited to 900p. Its very concerning. I have had thoughts of cancelling my pre order, but im going to stick it through and hope they know better than this.

@kingoflife9: That's a really big fan, I'm impressed but surely you don't expect me to believe that MS would admit to having faulty hardware if they did indeed have it. Why should we trust anything MS says after the whole RROD debacle?

Personally, I don't believe anything is wrong the Xbone hardware. (like RROD). But I could be wrong, just have to wait and see.

I don't see any air vent for this plastic box, this is a good way to overheat your console system.

Xbox One is massive in size, big fan, components that give out less heat and an external PSU.

PS4 is smaller with a smaller fan, components that give out more heat and an internal PSU.

Its not rocket science which is most likely to have problems. If you think the Xbox One is going to have problems and the PS4 will be fine your in for a big surprise. Technical wizardry can only go so far and Microsoft have learnt their lesson on RROD.

Sounding more and more like this console was rushed and the Feb. event took 'em by surprise. Not seeing any RROD-like disasters though.

NeoGAF user CBOAT has drawn infamy due to his notoriously accurate leaks from within Microsoft about all things to do with their upcoming Xbox One console. Allegedly, one of his latest nuggets of insider knowledge had him stating that most Xbox One games would run at a compromised resolution of 900p, instead of the next gen 1080p that we were all looking forward to. Considering that even the Wii U hits 1080p with all of its premier games, that’s a bit sad.

CBOAT has gone on the record to say that the console is being rushed to the market, and that Microsoft have not planned the hardware properly- according to him, a 2014 release for the console would have been much suited, because as it stands now, the console will almost certainly have reliability issues like the Xbox 360′s Red Ring of Death.

The rumor spread like wildfire, and Microsoft was swift to respond:

“I actually am aware of that and know a few of them. You should know we’ve gotten many devkits throughout this past year.

The console in question [the one that CBOAT is talking about] is a zebra turned stress machine for hardware/heat issues testing.”

It might be damage control, or it might be true; given the history, both Microsoft with the Xbox 360, and CBOAT with his leaks, I’m more inclined to believe the former than the latter.

*sigh*

Microsoft could really use some good news for a change.

To be perfectly honest, Im not worried about any Xbox overheating problems. Look at the size of the box and the size of the fan. Say what you will about MS, but they didnt get to being such a large company by making the same mistakes over and over. Im pretty sure the 1st key thing on their agenda when they designed the Xbone was to enure that another RROD like situation would never happen.

This... I hope big console failure rates are a thing of the past, but looking at it now, I'm honestly more worried about the PS4, and Gue's link above is worrisome.

RRoD was very costly for MS, and I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson. With X1 having a large case with lots of vents and an external PSU, looks to me MS is doing a good job on covering all fronts to prevent overheating issues. Despite all the anti-MS stuff, I don't expect X1 to suffer any major technical issues.

If MS has issues with the X1 like with 360, Lems will defend them. MS could kill their families and Lems would defend them.

That is such a shame. Makes sense though. Microsoft releases a product that barely works, gets millions at launch, and millions from consumers who will be paying them to get their console fixed.

Same here. The system is being played, hands on, all over the US right now. While I do think when it comes to certain entertainment aspects that the One was set for 2014, hardware wise its doing just fine.

That quote is a reply to a Reddit poster, not a direct response to CBOAT's statements. And who says CBOAT's talking about dedicated stress testing machines? No one knows from where he nibbled up the info that made him concerned.

Actual response to CBOAT.

"I hope you aren't fans of 1080P on Xbox One."

Is he suggesting only Xbox One games will be natively non-1080p and all PS4 games will be natively 1080p?

"When hardware is released you'll see what I mean about issues. Upclocks too risk everywhere, 2014 was a better idea."

No I don't see what you mean, be more specific please, what issues?

"Sounds like there'll be problems a-la Xbox 360 with reliability and it was rushed out to be in 2013 rather than 2014 when planned."

I have an Xbox One here that I've had for almost a year with an uptime high of 29 days that says you're wrong.

No, that's not what he's suggesting. Note the distinct lack of mention of the PS4 or its games in that sentence.

Yes, please do be more specific.

Does it have the upclocks applied? Seems that's key to CBOAT's concerns regarding reliability.

Also, has this XboxDev person been validated as knowing what they're talking about at all, generally believed to actually have access to inside information?

So we have a full outed Xbox One dev who responds knowing full well he is putting his name on the line versus this Cboat ebonics writing so called insider who's batting 50/50 lately? I think I buy the reply of the dev who will put his name and reputation on the line. Case closed for me.

What a bunch of FUD bullsh*t. Trying to compensate because of the PS4's "Red Line of Death" issues, are we?

Oh, and Forza is 1080p, so that pretty much blows that argument, too.

You cows are so paraniod over the XB1, it borderlines on hysteria.

Not again Microsoft lol

I'll wait to see what the failure rate of the X1 is before I call judgment on it. I'm not expecting much durability seeing as how both the Original and 360 had high failure rates.

Btw TC, I know a certain GS user that will be personally offended by this news lol I'm sure we all know who I'm referring to lol

well, you could say it's clearly having trouble of some sort since they had to drop territories where it's being launched. They went from 21 to just 13 ;)

The only way we see these consoles is locked up in a box in some overheated store. Is anybody Really surprised we're seeing demo units locked in a box for 12 hours a day running constantly are crashing.

Geez. I didn't know they went down to only 13 territories. That is sad

I find it unlikely that it's the Xbox One that will have reliability issues, given the size (venting space). And the PS4 is more compact and its RAM and GPU are likely to make more heat.

Not that I necessarily believe the source....but this is what they did last launch. So i wouldn't be surprised either...

Plus, the victims didnt seem to care. All the lemmings with dead xboxs tend to lie about it on this site, or see it as not a problem.

PS4 November launch = 32 countries

xbone=13 countries ...lol,no problem at all!!!

most of the PS4 countries have less then 10 consoles available and a price that nobody in those countries can even afford. its all marketing BS. Not to mention some countries don't even have PSN store available to them

Apparently not even the PS4 will have all games running at 1080p.

Let's all get a Wii-U I guess.

"I hope you aren't fans of 1080P on Xbox One."

Is he suggesting only Xbox One games will be natively non-1080p and all PS4 games will be natively 1080p?

majority of PS4 games will be native 1080p on PS4, not on Xbox One
