Xbox360 - What a piece of ..meh

Bought xbox360 premium, played it about 4-5 hours (in 2 weeks) and is now returning it.

Its fan is loud as shiet, and many games lag. Sure some games are alright; Dirt, Gears of War (when it doesn't lag) but that isn't enough for me to keep the machine. It is just so damn loud. Jeez.

I'm returning it today and I'm sticking to computers from now on.

My HDTV will get used only for watching TV on from now on.

Kloney.  I believe you.  You shouldn't take to heart what lemmings say.  They willingly fling themselves from cliff's whenever Microsoft commands them.  For example, they snap up map packs for GeOW for a fee when these same type of map pack traditionally released by Epic were given away to PC gamers for free (Unreal Tournament series). 

These lemmings will run to Microsofts side, even though Microsoft exhibits some pretty amazing actions toward gamers: releasing a 3 year old game (Halo 2) for $49.99 for the PC, all the while, making people buy their crappy new OS just to play it. 

Furthermore, trying to make their pathetic console look good, they allow people playing Halo 2 online with a controller to have auto stick and auto aim to try to make controllers look like a viable device for online FPS games.

And finally, the Xbox 360 is renowned for its quality: the ring of death.  Hence the reason they named this turd the 360.

The noise annoys me the most. Could they have put a louder fan in there?Kloney

well it has 2 tiny 40mm fans, and the smaller the fan the more noise.  average pc fans are twice the size and many are 120mm

I take it the map packs are a lot more complex and required more work than the Unreal Torunament ones. And the map packs are eventually free. These are more like timed transactions.

I agree with he Xbox 360 reliability part though. Microsoft needs to work on that.

And even with my crappy 2mb down 256k up dsl connection the game rarely lags online for me.

The only slowdown in single player is some choppy cutscenes, gameplay is smooth as can be, was for me anyway. 

I remember playing Condemned late late at night when i had it. Scary game, but the 360's loud fan some what ruined the scare factor for me.

It is loud, but that doesnt make me want to return it. Ill pick fun gameplay over a lousy fan any day.

You can hook up computer to your HDTV and add a wirless USB Controler to it. I'm sure it beat the 360 XD

I've honestly never experienced that, one time i remember someone warping around a map, but the host was downloading on his PC and when he switched that off the game went back to normal.

Maybe your just unlucky and get matched with horrible hosts?
