Spot on and I definitely agree. I think that Sony is simply delaying the inevitable with this as I feel that there are more then enough developers and gamers who would like to see this happen sooner rather then later.

I personally have nothing against crossplay,and I even enjoy it once in awhile since it already exists between PS4 and other platforms excluding the Switch and the Bone for years now. Sony is free to decide who they crossplay with though, since such decisions can affect their business in either a positive or negative way. Gamers don't have a right to force Sony to crossplay with the Bone or Switch if they don't want to. This type of entitlement with modern day gamers is why gaming culture today is shit and full of whining crying babies.

You just described much of my time in this forum. I see who the TC is, the title of the thread and I comment. I didn't always do this, but the forum has changed and my relation to it has.

Im starting to see alot of Cows say this in response to the backlash Sony's gotten from it.

Its like Gay Marriage. When they realized they were on the losing side of the issue, their opinions evolved to "well I dont care either way". When its absolutely fucking clear that they DO care about this.

Thats why Cows, who built their entire identity at the start of this generation by styling themselves as the "consumer advocate gamers" (back to Jack Trettons "call home" speech at E3) have resorted to defending Sony from a business standpoint, like they're employed by the company.

Nope. Mainly because one is a subjective opinion of a platform. The other actually has evidence of benefitting devs and gamers. It doesn't work that way.

I prefer luxury cars to sports cars. Completely subjective as is my preference for the Xbox. A car having airbag optional to high end models rather than standard like now, compared to how they did in the 80s when I was a kid is not pro consumer.

Sony has the biggest user base. Why should they care about helping their competitors out? We’re talking about a small percentage of console people who don’t own a PS4. Would you do it? Or would you rather those people buy a PS4 instead?

While I can say cross-play fiasco with Sony isn't my concern, I do see it's hurting Sony's reputation on the whole issue. Jim did brought up one thing, Sony's in a higher position due to PS4 being the console lead and and let's face it, what does Sony have to lose? Nothing here really. Why would they want to let people from other ecosystems play with the massive Playstation userbase? That is not in their best interest, because it is less incentive for people to buy a PS4 console to play with most of their friends.

The bottom line: Sony already made it clear, cross-play doesn't interest them now in this gen. Word of advice, never own just one console. Always buy multiple consoles (PC gaming) and you'll never be disappointed.
