Multiplatform games ARE important...TO HAVE Â THEM ON YOUR SYSTEM. Â
Do you think any console fans will care that PC will have a superior version of Dark Souls II? Â No, they only care if it's avalible on thier system.
The only importance Da better version of a multiplatform game has ever served for is...bragging rights. Â If you really care about superior versions of mulitplatform games....YOU WOULDN'T BE AN XBOT YOU WOULD BE A HERMIT.

Theres a difference between console gaming, and PC gaming. Consoles directly compete with eachother on every level. The PC doesn't.
And if someone has a choice to buy one console that gets DLC early or exclusive content or has more features that enhance their games or a controller that is more comfortable, then they're going to go for that one. That is what Sony is saying with the PS4. They want to create a console that compliments multiplats better than the competition.
It doesn't all boil down to graphics.
Sony is simply just saying they want their system to be the best in every aspect. Â That's bragging rights to say "YEAH, we are the best" this is mostly because PS3 came up short in that with PS3 this gen.Look, the original xbox has more powerful hardware than PS2 right? Â But as long as PS2 got a "version" of a game that was also avalible on other systems it didn't matter if they were better. Â No one considered getting an xbox for GTAIII on xbox if they had it on PS2 and the differences between multiplats on PS2 and xbox were much greater than what lems try to argue for xbox over PS3.Â
Sony knows this as everyone else. Â Only lems make this argument. Â Sony knows exclusives ultamately determine whether a person chooses one system over another "wii" proved that last gen, and PS2 proved it the gen before, hell even the original xbox proved that with Halo. so again Da best version of a multiplat is a nice bragging right but want move someont to choose one system over another.
 again if you really felt that stongly about superior versions of multiplatform games you would have ALREADY been a PC gamer...lol I see you still on xbox tho!!!
LOL at bringing up the original Xbox. The PS2 was an anomaly. It destroyed the competition that generation, and your example is off because the PS2 got the GTA games a year early. By the time San Andreas released on the Xbox, it had sold 15 million on the PS2. It then sold around 100,000 on Xbox. Then next-gen happens, and Microsoft made the 360 the more attractive console to play GTAIV on with timed-exclusive DLC. Guess which version sold more? Yup, the 360. Thats an astronomical improvement.
Wii proved that it was something new and different, and something accessable to familys. The Gamecube had really strong 1st party support - it had better exclusives than the Wii imo - and it still fell on its face.
If Microsoft were to come and say yeah, we have this new CoD game to announce. On the next Xbox, you get exclusive content / early DLC, this robust online service with a, b and c features and then go on to advertise this to the masses i.e. have the Xbox logo show when its advertised on TV, it will make a difference.
If exclusives mattered so much, then the PS3 shouldve well overtaken the 360 the second half of this gen. But no, it finished last. It sold faster, but in comparson it was at a snails pace. So yeah, exclusives don't matter much when you can provide the better multiplats and Sony know this.
