The majority of people on this forum are posting on a PC. If so, why not upgrade it, instead of buying a console? I know a lot of people will say "but a gaming PC is too expensive", but that is no longer the case anymore. For only $250 USD (or even less), you can buy an Geforce 8800GT, which can produce graphics that can beat the PS3 and 360. Thats right people, the 8800GT costs the same as a Wii, but beats the graphics of any next-gen console. How can we say that PC gaming is expensive if this is the case? Yeah I know that the graphics card is not the only thing that matters, but apart from that, all you need is 1-2 gigs of RAM along with a mid-range dual core processor in order to compliment a Geforce 8800GT, nothing major. Oh, and don't forget the mouse and keyboard advantage you have over consoles. Not only does PC gaming offer better graphics, better controls, better pricing, but also better online in many situations.
Heres a friendly tip for people who feel that PC gaming is expensive: You don't need to buy a top-of-the-range PC to play Crysis, because this game can have its graphics downscaled to meet your PCs hardware. And guess what? If you play Crysis on "medium low" settings,, the graphics CAN still beat Gears of War on the 360, as well as Uncharted on PS3 :D
As for me, I have been a PC gamer since childhood, but unfortunately I am stuck with a laptop for now, so I cannot upgrade it, although I am saving my money to customise my own desktop for gaming :)
