So did the PS1. The console came out in 1994 (1995 NA) and the bulk of the PS1's best games came out 1998, 1999, and 2000. Sure, 1996 and 1997 had their good titles just like 2008 and 2009 did for the PS3 (or maybe 2007 and 2008 would be more appropriate). It only gets better from here on out.

Thats right. I don't think we'll be seeing a PS4 for a long time, because there aren't really many incentives for Sony to release a new system.

Furthermore, the very definition of what is a better product depends upon what you are trying to accomplish in the marketplace. My PS3 is better built than my 360, no question about that. It also has more and arguably better features than my 360. But, it also costs more. That makes it a premium product....which would be great if it was meant to be sold to a limited market and if the software that is meant to go with itdelivered a premium experience. But that was never the intent. All the consoles are ultimately meant to appeal to the mass market. And of course, the problem with this situation is that I expected more unique gaming love. More developers producing more cool things for my PS3 and not just relying on Sony itself.

Instead, my premium product has not significantly distinguished itself from my other consoles. At the end of the day, I use my 360 much more frequently than my PS3, there is no material difference in game experience/quality between the two system, and a huge percentage of the libraries overlap. In sum, my 360 has been a far better value and I fail to see how this 'comeback' has materially improved my gaming; outside of a few games, most of which haven't particularly distinguished themselves from similar offerings (I am looking at you KZ2, and you R2, and yes you too Infamous). Not that Gears 2 or Fable 2 were any better. But I expected more from my PS3 and it t'ain't there.

We bring WW sales because not everyone here from US to care about NPD sales , So Iam not from US and I hate the games that most of US players like so its like you are forcing something I dont care about on me , I usually look at the number of copies that a game sold to know if its good or bad so i would buy it but mosy of US gamers like to play game genres that doasnt intrest me a bit like FPS and shooters so its not worth looking at sales there.

Eh, I don't think there is a console this gen that has a universal game library.

The PS3 still doesn't seem to have games that cater to my tastes, though it definitely has some that have huge appeal with others.

Sometimes it seems like I'm the only person who thought Sony would deliver with the games after Sony's first terrible year...

I still got an xbox 360 since it had games, but I had suspicion that it would run dry on games as it didn't have any definitive xbox franchises that I was really interested. Turns out today, I'm right :roll:.Even when people were like "PS3 has no games!, it ***ing sucks, will the PS3 die early?" in 2006, I still knew that they were going to have very impressive stuff later on. I didn't know it was going to be as impressive as Uncharted 2 though. If you want a game that represents next gen console gaming, that's it.

Anyways, now we're at today and people are saying the PS3 has games now, omg! Or someone are recognizing how Sony's line up has very good games coming and that it offers more than Microsoft, like it's surprising. Seriuously...? Why would you be surprised that they are delivering on the excluvies and franchise games? Why did/do people act like the Playstation 3 was Sony's first console? Did you see how many quality exclusive franchises that came out of the playstation and playstation 2? It was a ridiculous amount... Sony hasn't even brought back all the old ones yet like Twisted Metal, but they are probably going to. They brought back fricken Warhawk and look how it turned out...
