1.) Dead Space 2
2.) Street Fighter Alpha
3.) Civilization 5

Resident Evil 6. I loved 4, it's probably my favourite game ever and whilst 5 didn't live up to it it was still a solid game. 6 is just a mess though, the controls, the camera, the shooting, just bleurgh, no thanks.
Modern Warfare 2. Same as above, I loved CoD4, as much for the singleplayer as the multiplayer and boy was this a let down. One thing I liked about 4 was that the game was so big and bombastic but the ending just sort of has everything covered up. And then 2 just went bat s*it insane and went "Durr let's start WW3!" and had all these weird twists and it just felt stupid. And on top of that the multiplayer was broken in a good 6 or 7 ways which made it awful to play.
Borderlands 2/Saints Row 3. I couldn't really think of a third as disappointing as those 2 but these are recent ones that really stuck out for the same reason: the humour. Games that try to be funny the whole way through do not work unless they're incredibly well written. I don't mind toilet humour, silly humour, crass humour, it's great in small doses, but basing your whole game around it? No, just no. Borderlands and Saints Row 2 were silly games at times but I don't remember them shoving stuff in your face as much as the sequels do. And it all seems like bad internet humour, it's not a carefully constructed joke it's just someone saying "butts boobies poop" for 20 hours because that's funny I guess?
1. Resident Evil 5
2. Mario Kart 7
3. Zelda Twilight Princess (It was a great game, but I was really expecting it to be even better than Ocarina of Time)
In order
1.) Dead Space 2.. It wasn't very scary or creepy, other than the ishimura parts. I don't care what some of you all say. Dead Space was scary for me, and creepy. I liked coming back to the station to start a new chapter and explore a new place, and Dead Space 2 I don't like how they infrastructured the chapters. The set pieces didn't belong, and where did the mentally unstable people from the 1st game go. It took me months to finish it, a shame since Dead Space 1 was one of my fav games this gen, still is, and Dead Space 2 is just meh.
2.) Super Paper Mario.. What happened to the amazing characters and story from TTYD? Every setting in TTYD was incredible and memorable. Super Paper Mario wasn't. What happened to the side stories from Luigi and taking control of Peach? That was awesome to me. And every stage on TTYD had a memorable storyline that dealt with mystery, spirits, or corruption, it just seemed Super Paper Mario lost its way and what made the series so great.
3.) Mass Effect 3. I thought MAss Effect 2 was incredible. Mass Effect 3 just lost my intrest. I couldnt finish it, I havent even seen the ending yet. It's like that game didnt even try to be intresting.
Not to say they're bad games, but compared to the games that came before them, they weren't nearly as good.
Damn, Dragon Age 2 landed on a lot of your lists. I've never played any Dragon Age, but I'm guessing it must be a sh*tty sequel.
Tekken 6, I had huge hype for that game, but the long loading time, new campaign mode and bad online killed it for me.
Mass Effect 3, if it wasn't for the ending that made all my time playing the trilogy redundant, it'll be one of the best sequel.
Blops 2, even though the previous games are medicore, they're still fairly fun and the campaign is very engaging, this one just completely killed it, I couldnt even finish the campaign and the multiplayer is worse than ever.

I am not that familiar with the DA games, although I am quite into Mass Effect, and from what I understand Dragon Age 2 was an even bigger letdown than Mass Effect 3. Oh that EA...1. Unreal Tournament 3 (Not sure if that counts? after the god of UT2004)
2. Any need for speed underground after the 1st one.
3. Any Command and Conquer after Generals and Zero hour... Oh and Supreme Comander 2. Oh and Dawn of War 2, LOTR battle for middle earth 2?(RTS game, first one was imense.)

Same story. The Escapist called it a pinnacle in RPGs, with brilliant storytelling and well-designed mechanics, when it was the exact opposite.
No top 3, but for me the most disappointing sequels were:
- FEAR 3: The co-op somewhat saves the experience, but otherwise it is the evidence that the series has lot its entire identity.
- Age of Empires Online: I was expecting AoE4 and I got an MMO. Oh, how I cried.
- Wind Waker: I loved the overworld and style, but the dungeons bored me to death. I was also disappointed to see the series go back to the LttP/OoT template after the highly original Majora's Mask.
Supreme Commander 2
Dragon Age 2
Resident Evil 4 (I actually think it's a very good game and enjoyed it a lot, but I was disappointed to see Capcom turn its back on what made the series all about "survival horror". I knew after that the RE games wouldn't appeal to me. To this day, REmake is still by far the best game in the series, and one of my GOAT games).
What was wrong with these games exactly?? I absolutely loved Diamond/Pearl when they came out! I had amazing team(for a 13 year old.) Finished the pokedex and ended up with 400 hours in Pearl. New Super Mario Bros. felt fresh in it's design after not having a new platformer for what must have been ages for some. Wario Land shake It was just alright, a pretty fun and cool game, nothing special.1. Pokemon Diamond
2. Wario Land Shake It
3. New Super Mario Bros. DS (if considerered a sequel)

What's wrong with Streets of Rage 3? Other than being harder and having worse music than the first two, the game rocks. Gameplay wise, it's arguably better than SoR2.
I disagree. In my opinion, Streets of Rage 2 was better paced, had better gameplay, sound effects, music, level design, animations and graphics! I can't think of a single feature where SoR3 was better than SoR2 :P

You can run, weapon combos, star combos. There you go, I just thought of three for you. :)

The fact you could run was an improvement, indeed.
I don't remember what were the star combos, though. I played the game for the last time about 10 years ago!

If you don't die for like a stage you get a star next to your name, and your running combo and weapon combo gets better up to three star levels. You can do the same moves if you enter a button combination, but the star makes it significantly easier to pull off since it defaults to forward, forward, B.
I've been playing Streets of Rage 2 and 3 nonstop for like 20 years, so I can't hate on either. :P
SoR2 is definitely better than SoR3, but I think 3 gets hated on way too much, and I'd put it over any other beat 'em up aside from the former.

Yep, i have been playing SoR2 for 20 years aswell. It's one of those 16bit games that, after all those years, i still find fun to play! For some reason (or those i posted), i never liked SoR3 as much. I also remember finding it too confusing and fast in comparison.
I may turn my megadrive on and play it again.

Yup, SoR2 is an unaging masterpiece which is why I'm not hesitant to call it my favorite game of all time. When SoR3 came out, I didn't like it that much either because it was way harder, the music was worse, and that they took out Max (my favorite guy), but as I got older and got better, it grew on me. It's when I compare SoR3 to other beat 'em ups, including SoR1, does it really start to shine. Comparing it only against the greatest game of all time in SoR2, is just too unfair. :P
i havent bought a mario game since 1996. quake 4 duke nukem forever twisted metalNot asking for the worst sequels of all time. Hell, the games dont even have to be bad. Just list 3 sequels (or more if you like) that really left you feeling down about a series.
Mine.
1. MGS4
2. FFXIII
3. Mario 64
I know I'll get hate for that last one. :P
I dont think its a bad game at all, but I hated seeing Mario go 3d after amazing titles like SMB3, SMW and Yoshis Island. Everyone else loved it, but to me it was the end of Mario as I knew it.

Well, true. It's still far better than the Snes version of Final Fight and it's sequels. Not any close to Cadillac and Dinossaurs on arcades, though, To me that and SoR2 are the masterpieces of their genre.

I took a long break as well. Didnt like SM64 too much. Hated what I played of Sunshine. Mario was basically irrelevant to me up until SMG came out. Dead for a decade. I usually dont like 3d platformers, but the SMG games are so damn great.

1. I personally didn't like the Pokemon designs in Diamond, such as the evolutions of Pokemon from earlier generations. I also didn't like the story that much and the series felt stale at that point. I loved Ruby and Diamond felt inferior IMO. I did like the fact that they split attacks into physical and special categories though.
2. Wario Land was a good game but it felt underwhelming compared to the amazing Wario Land 3. The Wii controls felt like a gimmick and the overall gameplay felt too slow. It also was too short. Again, not a bad game, but inferior to Wario Land 3 and even 4.
3. New Super Mario Bros. DS was the worst main Mario game I've ever played. The fact that it was so short and easy was a big letdown to me. Also I wasn't a fan of the music either.

Everything seems agreeable except for splitting the attacks into physical and special was probably the greatest thing to happen to Pokemon ever. It's BS when a physical attacker can't even be used because all their moves are water or dark etc and vice versa. A lot of Pokemon were downright unusable because of that.i havent bought a mario game since 1996. quake 4 duke nukem forever twisted metal[QUOTE="thankstome"][QUOTE="Wiimotefan"]
