Zelda OOT 3DS Eurogamer Review: 10/10

OoT is one of the greatest games ever, and Eurogamer claims its never been better here. That's something to be excited for regardless of how many games the 3DS has or not.

First few paragraphs are great. He brings up a good point about how the in video games, unlike other entertainment outlets, remakes or remasters are seen as cash in rip-offs.

Don't post any spoilers for the game in this thread!!! I'm sure the story/battles/puzzles/final boss is different and totally unique to the 3DS than the umpteen times I've already played the game.Heil68

Never enjoyed OOT much :/ Tried playing it back in the day on the N64, tried playing it on the Wii, and I just don't see what all the fuss is about :?

Wow, I'm surprised. A 10 for a remake/port. They must have fixed some of the control issues which didn't date that well. Unfortunately for me, I preordered on amazon and it states that I won't get it until the 19th or 20th....wtf ever happened to getting it on release day.

Woops. It must be a sunday. I can wait.:) It'll be strange playing this as I only fully played through it the one time back in 1998. I'm happy for those who have never played it, because imo it always held up well with the exception of a few performance/control issues--which apparently have been ironed out.

Nobody can really make a nostalgia argument when DNF just got a 3/10, if games could truly live in a wave of nostalgia then Duke wouldn't be scoring so badly.bobbetybob

Only OOT could get re-released and still get a 10.

I love me some OOT but I can't justify spending $300 (I dont own a 3DS) just to play a game that I have beaten at least 40 times.

OOT is one of my favorite game of all time with Skies of Arcadia, so no surprise here. This game was amazing and it just got better with this remake.

Now if only they'd do the same with Skies of Arcadia or even better, give me my sequel damnit!

There are plenty of games (Clay Fighters 63 1/3, Street Fighter Alpha, and more) I loved back in the day that I play now and wonder why I liked them. Some of them were even masterpieces, such as Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark 64. Ocarina of Time is NOT one of those games. The second I boot it up until the end, I know why I loved it, because I still do. The game is amazing and timeless (as are most of Nintendos games).

I very much dislike this sentiment. If anyone likes any old game, it must be because of nostalgia, and not because the game is still good. It's old, therefore it cannot be good.

I played OOT for the first time a few years ago. Not when I was a kid mind you, but a few years ago. I thought it was a timeless classic. There you go, you're proven wrong already. In all fairness, I thought MM was a superior game from the start, but I do not deny that even today OOT is excellent.

OOT is one of my favorite game of all time with Skies of Arcadia, so no surprise here. This game was amazing and it just got better with this remake.

Now if only they'd do the same with Skies of Arcadia or even better, give me my sequel damnit!

Your telling me! Hell I never did beat SoA because I was borrowing it, and I got to one of the bosses over 20 hours in the game, just to have me save it RIGHT before him and have NO choice but to fight him. It was litteraly impossible for me to beat him with my health and such, so I was screwed lol. Now I save many files in games :P. I should play that game again sometime.

Anyway lol, I am very tempted to pick up a 3DS soon, although I am leaning towards waiting. Either way I should pick this up on launch day.

I disagree about MM, BUT it is a really hard title to review because there is not much wrong with it and me liking OoT over MM is more of an opinion on how things are done that it is a fact on what was better in OoT. MM is so close to a 10 but I dont think I can give it that :P.

And as far as I know the real Duke Nuke hardcore fans is still giving good grades to DNF.

And nobody says nostalgia is everything but it's a factor which affects gamers. The thing is DNF is nothing like DN3D, it's linear, health regen etc etc everything that a nostalgia boy HATES, u know they hate change and this influence people negatively, like oh no it's nothing like I remember it. On the other hand OOT is just the same game with better graphics. So of course nostalgia influence.
