It's hard to say based on few preview articles, screenshots, and videos because all of them point towards this game being just another Zelda, albeit an incredibly good one.

That's my impression.

That said, it will not stop the game from getting 10/10 as Super Mario Galaxy 2 landed 10 here, even though it is not completely new in any way.

Orchestral music says best zelda ever.

Now for innovation who knows?

It doesn't look that way at all. I don't think that's the intention.

We may have to wait out the gen before Zelda gets a landmark entry.

But really, no Zelda game is ever going to be revolutionary in the same way that Ocarina was. The 2D-3D transition is never happening again. If there's ever going to be another revolutionary Zelda, it will be a LTTP/Majora sort of thing where it's the refinement and/or innovation in the gameplay that wows everyone.

It just looks like another Zelda with lame motion controls, I wish it would come out for GC like TP, so that I'd actually be able to play it without getting annoyed by the motion controls.

This time the motion controls are actually part of the game. I'm hoping that the demo was the tip of the iceberg because the implementation there didn't amaze me.

I really want more dark themed Zelda games like Twilight Princess and Majoras Mask (And on teh PC :D,) but all Zelda games are some of the best games ever. As far as being revolutionary? Maybe in the way the series/games on the Wii play since it should no longer be LOLWAGGLEWAGGLEWAGGLE, but to change gaming drastically would be a bit much. I'm not expecting much out of Skyward Sword, since we haven't heard that much about it, but hopefully that means this game is gonna be perfect 10 material so I'm really blown away by it. Right now, I'm only hoping for 8-8.5.

Evolutionary, not revolutionary. TP was a GC game with motion-control tacked on. This is is designed with motion control from the ground, so I feel it will be much more worthy.

It'll be an average Zelda with Motion Plus and Wii hardware. For that, it'll still be one of very best games on the best gaming system of all time :D

Regardless of how accurately they're implemented, I don't like a whole game using only motion controls, and it's even worse when the combat is controlled by motions.

Mediocre? :? What was mediocre about it exactly? It might not have been revolutionary or innovative but it was a solid game.

The characters, the enemies, the dungeons, and for ****s sake the light bug fetch quests were just a chore. Nothing really stood out for me, just another dungeon in another Zelda game. If Nintendo wanted to make me go "ooooooh" with another Zelda, they should try something like Majora's Mask again.

I will agree with you on the bug quests they really worried me at the start of the game. And some of the characters (Colin anyone?)

But I actually thought the dungeons and characters were exceptionally well made. I think the main problem with the game for some people, is that its too familiar to past Zelda games. But I think the gameplay itself was top notch.

As for Majoras Mask, I think it shouldn't be replicated in order for it to be truly unique.

But in the end its all subjective I suppose

Oh by all means I wasn't trying to say that Majora's Mask should be redone in any way, rather I would like to see Nintendo create a Zelda that doesn't stick too rigidly to the "Zelda" formula. Branch out a bit I guess, that's why TP felt so similar to Oot.

Really? I thought it felt more like Majora's Mask. Oddly enough, Twilight Princess is my favorite Zelda to date. I just found it more fun than the others. Closely followed by MM and OoT though, then Wind Waker.

Not much room for innovation in the gaming scene anymore. 3D gaming has matured. It's fine though as long as it's fun.

From the looks it won't be a revolutionary Zelda game...but who knows, maybe it will show us how a game should integrate motion control.

Well considering that nearly every game in the series has been revolutionary in some way. SS certainly will. But no game will ever again be more revolutionary then OoT.

I think you are blinded by nostalgia, Besides the wolf parts TP was just as good as then rest of them. MY favorite is windwaker, I liked how they actually some what of a combat system. After Windwaker the series just took steps backwards, just like all nintendo games seem to do these days. Except galaxy there only saving grace.

well first, you can't compete with OoT in innovation and expect to win. it's the game that created the standards for 3D gaming. second, "controls"? really? i mean sure i played OoT on the gamecube, but i played majora's mask on the N64, and TP controls are definitely better. just the fact that you have the C-stick for the camera is a big help.

still, motion sensing is just a new way to play. 3D is a whole freaking new dimension. it's kinda hard to top such a leap :P but rest assured, if the E3 demo showed something, it showed that swordplay in motion games will never be the same. which is actually why they built the demo :P

It'll be by far the most innovative Zelda in years, but it'll still feel like a Zelda game, it won't completely revolutionize the franchise like OoT did. And thank god for that the series has pretty much become as good as it can get in terms of the central gameplay, just keep refining and improving and I'll be more than happy to pay the price.

[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"][QUOTE="wiifan001"][QUOTE="nintendo-4life"] I really would like to hear this as well.

Twilight Princess was excellent in its own right but was a step down nearly every way imaginable than older brother Ocarina of Time- dungeon design, music, controls, innovation, etc.

well first, you can't compete with OoT in innovation and expect to win. it's the game that created the standards for 3D gaming. second, "controls"? really? i mean sure i played OoT on the gamecube, but i played majora's mask on the N64, and TP controls are definitely better. just the fact that you have the C-stick for the camera is a big help.

wii motion controls are broken. i was addressing the controls of the wii version. Twilight Princess on gamecube simply kept the extraordinary controls from windwaker.
