Probably the same people that hate on a game for to much variety :)

as did i, i don't know one person who has enjoyed brwal who isn't a long time fan. i certainly didn't.
Brawl is one of those casula games that can be picked up and played by almost anyone hence why it's sales are so huge. Not just hardcore fans are buying the game you know.i just didn''t find it fun.
Ok and you said basically only hardcore fans only find it fun when brawl is known for its casual and hardcore appeal so you dont make any sense.Looks like we have a grade A fanboy!
That was one of his best videos yet. Keep 'em coming Yahtzee, you swine.
"... or a gamespot employee". That made me laugh, heh.Doom_HellKnight
Yup, best line he's ever said I think!

R U KIDDING ME!?? I never laughed so hard with any of the other reviews, IMO it was awesome, and dont call me a fanboy i owned and played every SSB game b4 brawl, i totally agreed with his review not to mention he was just makin fun of the game u r not supposed to take it seriously.
 The Gamespot reference PRICELESS!! I wonder what Jeff thinks about that i hope he laughs .

Me. :? I was really annoyed that you have to unlock a character worth playing with, even for multiplayer. If it's supposedly a fun play-with-your-friends game, why do i have to play by myself for hours and hours just to get Snake? It's a really stupid move on Nintendo's part.
So you totally agree with his Halo, BioShock and other reviews then?
thrones
The main difference being that nobody spoke out and complained about those reviews. It's only the nintendo fanboys who decided he was a bad reviewer and totally wrong once he gave SSBB the Yahtzee treatment.

Unlockables in fighting games are traditional features. I don't say this often but cry some more~
Why don't they realize that sending him hate mail will just further sour his opinion of the game? Ugh. I love Brawl and I think his review is wrong, but hatemail is not the way to disagree. :x I'll be surprised if he says anything positive about a Wii game from this point on.

It's definitely an annoyance, especially when you have to unlock characters that are advertised as selling points on the back of the game box. That's a bit misleading, isn't it?
This sort of thing is also pretty annoying in music games like Guitar Hero or Rock Band, where if you don't have the content unlocked, you need to use a cheat code to get all the songs to play. Luckily, those games at least have the cheats for party play.

So? Traditional != good. Unlockables can be okay, but as much as I like SSBB, even I feel they went overboard on them on characters.
this was actually his funniest:lol:
the professional troll, gamespot refrence, and dog comparison, and "dont worry your mums not ganna find out becouse shes to busy getting ******...BY ME!
on a serious note
if yahtzee dosnt like ssbb, fine its his OPINION, it shouldnt stop you from enjoying the game. plus hate mail just proves his point further. i personally love ssbb:)
As someone who enjoys brawl, I also enjoyed his review on brawl. Honestly who listen's to his reviews and then writes him about how bad it was. You know he is going to bash all games even the ones you like.
I don't care if he liked the game or didn't its his opinion and its hilarious.

nice assumption there. So it's impossible to like brawl and not be a complete nintendo fan

well, he doesnt really hate unlockables. he just pointed out that he didnt like the idea of sonic and solid snake not being playable from the start since nintendo were heavily advertising their appearance in ssbb. fair complaint if you ask me.
Yahtzee to me is there to rip games a new one, blow up all their inadquacies to collosal levels, whilst at the same time being funny. I think he is very good at it. But I would never base my decision on purchasing a game on his say so. There simply isn't enough content in the review for me to do that. Though they are more effective than simply going by a metacritic score.
As for his smash review specifically, to treat it as a proper review is ludicrous. He openly admits to playing it only for one evening and never getting beyond smashing buttons. That hardly puts him in the ideal sitaution to review the game. But then that was never the point.
I greatly enjoy yahtzee's reviews, but for their comic not educational values.

And me. I agree with his Brawl review because it's the truth...though if you didn't like it then you should just stick to reading reviews from Nintendo fans.

Agreed. I'll never understand people who get bent out of shape over what this guy says. I see him as more of a Maddox-type character than an actual critic.

Are you really still stuck on that? It wasn't the idea on unlockables, it was the fact that to heavily advertised characters were required to be unlocked. Looking back on previous SSB games, Nintendo never really advertised characters that required unlocking. No, typically the characters shown are the ones you get to start off with. Yahtzee himself explained how he took the game to play with his friends, only to find out the characters he wanted to play as the most (who were advertised as if you got to start with them), required hours of gameplay to play them first.
Maybe you weren't annoyed by that fact, but I would've been.
Hes bashed a major game from every system on the market. Remember, the lemmings did the same kind of hate, spam, ect. to and about Zero Punctuation after his Halo 3 review.tman93
he actually commented in his next review at the relative lack of hate mail he received regarding halo3.

So did I, Sonic was the char. I really looked forward to playing as, and I had to wait until the very end of Subspace Emmissary to access him?! That was just wrong; and I could care less about the unlockable trophies, and cds.
that was a great video, but I agree that Yahtzee wasn't fair to brawl. He shouldn't have reviewed it in the first place; that much is plain. He should stick to reviewing games that suit his tastes, instead of reviewing every popular game (which I think he admitted with that bit about him agonizing over the traffic measurement on his site)
i like the comparing the consles part, that made my day.
the 360 is like a dog that pisses itself and die.
