I havent watched a Yahtzee video in ages. I assume he spends the review bashing the game? Maybe? Not to jump to the conclusions, I understand it's all for humor, but I dont find him funny anymore and the whole "look at me I can bash a great game" thing is completely tired. Unless you're the Nerd. And they are old games. lol.carljohnson3456
Most of his reviews are good. I just avoid his wii game reviews because he never really reviews the game and just spends 5 minutes screaming "Wii sucks!" into a mic.
But he is in fact a joke reviewer and a highly biased one at that.. Biased in the sense he voices his own opinion. He tried too hard to knock the game and wasn't really funny to just hear him grasp on this one.
[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]The last part (the "in b4...." part). But if I was a little too quick to judge, then please forgive my harshness. .
That was a shot at people who write Yahtzee off as a "joke reviewer" and claim that somehow, places like IGN, Gamespot or other review sites are somehow "more credible." It is usually the people who take reviews seriously and have had him knock one of their favourite games.Dystopian-X
Looking for fanboy patterns in Yahtzee is a joke; he's praised and criticised all systems extensively.

He's biased against genre's though. He doesn't like fighters and shooters (unless they are made by Valve then they are instantly godsends).[QUOTE="Danm_999"]Biased in the sense he voices his own opinion.[QUOTE="Dystopian-X"] But he is in fact a joke reviewer and a highly biased one at that..

He's biased against genre's though. He doesn't like fighters and shooters (unless they are made by Valve then they are instantly godsends). He is indeed, but he tends to have problems with genre mechanics, rather than the genre itself. That's not really so terrible or unjustifiable if you ask me. For example, he hates quicktime events. He's biased against genre's though. He doesn't like fighters and shooters (unless they are made by Valve then they are instantly godsends). He doesn't seem to like RPGs either. Oh yeah he totally hates JRPGs and quite a few WRPGs. His review of Valkyria Chronicles and TWEWY are the best cases of this. Neither follows JRPG conventions yet he still uses JRPG conventions to insult both. I swear he didn't actually play Valkyria Chronicles based on his review.[QUOTE="Ace6301"][QUOTE="Danm_999"] Biased in the sense he voices his own opinion.

I agree with the review.......the game is overrated. It look good but nothing else. The game is just copy from other good games....Gears of War,Prince of Persia,Tomb Raider and Metal Gear. The gameplay is boring and repeated. No replay value.I have finish the game but after that it get boring.U2 it is a game that you would never go back to play again.
Panosola
No.
You HAVE NOT played it.
Im still waiting on your PSN ID or pics.
You don't even know what the characters section in the manual says or where the characters section is when some other guy asked for it as proof.
Eh... This one wasn't that great. I used to get a few more laughs out of his episodes, but this review was too similar to Uncharted 1. Which, I guess, is probably because they're not all that different. Just improved.
I have to admit...I haven't played Uncharted 2 in 2-3 weeks. After the half of a second play thought the main story, I'm probably not going back to it...and all (ALL) my PSN friends seemed to have moved on to other games...namly...MAG Beta, MW2 ect...ect..Shattered007The game is just one quick morning break and nothing more.I have finish the game and now is collect dust.I can't stop play MW2 on the 360.

Some people like some genres more than others, that's having an opinion, not being biased. He's biased against genre's though. This is what I was referring to, he shows disdain for certain genres while praises others, hell didn't he state that himself before?
In this review he picked the lack of originality and went circles around it disregarding how good everything else in the game is and even gave a nod to a game that he probably hadn't even played when he made the review as being better (DA) Yes he is a reliable source.

Though he does hate the Wii far more than the other three systems. He also hates shooters, fighters, JRPGs and QTEs.
Oh boy does he hate QTEs.

I personally beat the game 3 times in a row and got a plat. I also spent time online. Im taking a break because I just over did it. Im focusing on dragon age now. Uncharted 2 is easly one of the best this gen. On topic I never take this guys opinion seriously. Hes a joke reviewer to me nothing more nothing less. I go in for a chuckle not in depth thought.
looking forward to that review :)[QUOTE="Ontain"][QUOTE="Jandurin"]nice nod to Dragon Age.AdobeArtist
Remember his review of Mass Effect? I'm sure he's going to equally looooooooooooove the character conversations of DAO :lol:
@ Trey: Yahtzee is Aussie, just FYI :)
Actually he's a Brit but lives in Aus.

Ahaha.
I love how you contradict yourself.
MW2's campaign is neither as long as Uncharted 2's nor is as up to par as Uncharted 2's.
Yet you say U2 is quick morning break and nothing more? And give MW2 on your 360 all the love?
You know why?
Because you don't have Uncharted 2, you have never played it and nor do you have a PS3. Im still waiting on that PSN ID and pics.
If Uncharted 2 was a 360 exclusive or if it was on the 360 somehow, you would be all over it.

on my second play through i skipped the cut scenes so it took it down to about 7 hours. so its not that long really. and about an hour of that is pointless puzzles (as yatzee points out just look in the book for the solutions. they take no thought at all) and arbitrary platformy bits which are no fun at all the second time round. While these reviews are almost always intentionally snarky to appear cool, from time to time I get the feeling they didn't even play the game they are reviewing. This is one of those times.

Yep. The professional industry in reviews is so dependent on a formal review style, which is subject to deadlines and (as we've seen in the past) developer pressure, it's nice someone points out the mundane flaws in a snarky fashion.

MW2 does not look better thank UC2, I finished both just yesterday. Slam UC2 for being unoriginal if you like but nothing looks better on consoles and certainly not MW2. It may be polished like UC2, with lots of graphical flair - but the engine sucks, you can't polish a turd.Kan0nF0ddermythbusters proved you can actually.

Yahtzee really has his off and on weeks. I think Zero Punctuation altogether hit it's stride when it reviewed Super Smash Bros. Brawl and then the mail show that followed. Since then, it hasn't been as funny.
