The highlight of my day came in two parts, but it was all part of an overall ownage. In English, we were having a debate on whether or not African society was civilized, and I was representing the side that said it was civilized. My opponent, a self-righteous jerk named Kyle, claimed that the society was uncivilized because it had harsh punishments and allowed wife-beating. All of his points basically contained the same flaw: the folks claiming the society was uncivilized were going off today's standards, and using modern examples in their arguments. At the end, the teacher decided that I won, and Kyle tried defending himself, but it was over.
Three classes later, in AP History (another cIass I share with Kyle), my teacher began today's lecture with roughly this statement: "Contrary to popular belief, African society was not just a bunch of tribes, but rather a civilized society of villages." My friend and I laughed, as we were both on the "civilized" side of the argument, and we knew we could rub salt in Kyle's wounds after losing a debate and then being inadvertently owned by our other teacher. This was all just a coincidence, but it was hilarious.

Also, at lunch, the administration decided to quarantine all of the students in the cafeteria and the outside patio. My friends and I, a group who desperately made sure their lunch area was free of all trash (so we wouldn't get kicked out) were forced into an overcrowded area without any chance to defend ourselves. Now, over a thousand children have to occupy an area half the size of the old area, and conditions are ridiculously uncomfortable. My friends have decided to secretly rebel, by taking pictures of the overcrowding, making fliers, and posting them all over school before everyone gets there. I'm hoping that, if enough attention is gathered, we can have our freedom returned. We might even stage a protest outside the school on a weekend or something.
