@kierwinyoung: Blame Celldrax. That's his job!
@n33d2skate: Where are they anyway? Celldrax and the others?
This union might be up again, but it feels it's still dying though.
@meetroid8: I know how to write slang. I just don't write slang for Applejack because everyone already knows how she talks
@n33d2skate:
I have no idea what accent Applejack is supposed to have. The show's writers and the voice actor don't seem to be sure either. I'm just saying if you want to be accurate, pick an actual, real accent you want to emulate, one you're intimately familiar with and know how to reproduce, and write in that. Otherwise, don't bother. Novelists like Mark Twain and John Steinbeck could write in slang because they knew what slang they were writing in. With Applejack, you could pick literally any Southern or even Western dialect and make it work, just so long as you're consistent.
Personally, I wouldn't bother unless you have a specific accent in mind. Of course, most people don't care. It's just one of those lessons of The Elements of Style I took to heart.
@meetroid8: In the stories of mine that they've featured in, I just wrote their dialogue normally and at least I've made the featured box twice.
@meconate:
I can't believe you were ever able to stand the white background. That thing fries my eyes from the inside out.
@meetroid8: I've commented on one of your stories before. A story that required a filter.
That doesn't really narrow it down any. I've written a couple stories that require filters, and they've all got comments.
@n33d2skate: 3D pony creator
I'm sure people have already been working on their black and red alicorn OC's.
Um, did you just insult my OC?
@meetroid8: Calmer, but bigger I'd say. I think everyone's just gotten used to the fandom by now, so you don't see as much rage over it as you did 3-4 years ago.

Yeah, people on both sides have just mostly calmed down now.
There's still some choice individuals out there though who make it their lifelong goal to crusade against the fandom.
I like to imagine some of them still doing this 20 years from now. That would be amusing.
I think getting more involved and meeting people in the fandom are some of the best decisions I've ever made. In the past year, I've become a lot more open about myself.
