Hmm, I would like to interject on that topic a little bit, but I'm not saying it specifically to defend nica, but it DOES raise a valid point in his defense.

Not saying all ecchi manga does this. But. Sometimes, they'll have a perfectly good story. Then throw the ecchi in for humor, or to attract audience, or whatever reason they chose to throw it in for. I'v read a few that were technically "ecchi" yet had an excellent, deeper base story.Â

Granted, some is just purely for the ecchi. One excuse after another for it...but sometimes even those are funny/humor related or intended. But there are those that have a great base story. The ecchi got thrown in, just like the other anime-humor you see sometimes tossed into otherwise completely serious stories.
