Incoming massive backlog!mitu123For sure. I need to concentrate on beating games I have now instead of getting more. :P
[QUOTE="TAMKFan"]How did you like the final boss? Also how long did it take you to beat it the 1st time? That tank section or whatever. But I have beaten the game now, so I'm no longer stuck there. Currently, I'm replaying the game on Dragon difficulty and getting more power-ups.

Microsoft charges for online because they just can it seems and it was marketed to deliver a great online experience ahead of the competition. Technically PC has the best online, 360's online is better than PS3 due to some features like cross game chat, but for overall experience is the same from just playing a game, just Xbox Live seems more convenient.
Cross game chat is a huge life saver. I was able to play Saints Row and talk to my friends who playing Halo at the same time. Just to talk and relax while playing the games I want to play is great. On the PS3 you have to play the same games. Even worse is that with no voice chat you had to type out your messages and my goodness that is slow and annoying. I talk to quite a bit of people on PS3 so that's a pain for me.
And download speeds are definitely better on 360. I downloaded the Sonic 4 Episode 1 demo at the same time for PS3 and 360 and 360 downloaded faster by a good amount. PSN was slow due to how the servers are for that service in general.
And then due to the fact that servers are paid by Sony, certain games would lose their online faster. Look at Demon's Souls, a 2009 game that lost it's online last year. Metal Gear Online, a 2008 game that came with Metal Gear Solid 4, lost it's online in 2012 as well. With Xbox Live those servers would had lasted longer.
So while I like PSN, some things do make it worse than Xbox Live.
Also, how is the 360 overrated? It offers lots of great games even if they aren't your type of games, great online service, and Xbox Live Arcade is really good when it comes to playing platformers, beat em ups and such.
Well, I have played on Xbox Live before when I had a free trial, but I prefer PSN, since it's free. As for the cross game chat, I don't care about that, because I don't really talk to people while playing online anyway. I just play.
Well, I said it's overrated, since it's my least favorite out of the current gen consoles, whereas a lot of other people would disagree. As for Xbox Live Arcade, PSN also seems to offer a lot of the same games as well. Overall, I'm just not a big fan of the console.
I take you aren't social online, even if it's just for general chat about anything while playing a game with someone.
In team games(which I mainly play online) talking is essential for teamwork. But chatting with friends in general is fun too, in some ways more fun than just typing.
Well yeah but XBLA has quite a bit of games not on PSN.
I don't see the 360 as overrated considering all the games it offers. It's only overrated if the games it has aren't as good as people make it out to be, and we know how that is seeing how there's a lot of great games. 360 and PS3 share mostly the same games due to an absurd amount of multiplats that outnumber exclusives of course, but now when it comes to exclusives the PS3 seems better for that. It's also why people prefer PS3 to 360.
Also, I don't consider something overrated if I just don't like something that I'm not meant to like. Like I don't care for Guitar Hero, but I'm not going to call it overrated because I don't like it if I'm not a huge fan of the music genre in general. I would only call it overrated if it's not as good as the reviews/reception say it is. So if the game earns a 9 and I give it a 7 I would call the game overrated because it's rated higher than what I would give. 360 offers a great line up of games and is why it's loved so much, and it's ok to not like it because of what it offers, but to say it's overrated because you don't like what it offers in general confuses me when you obviously haven't played what you don't like. How do you call something overrated that you haven't used and rated anyways for what it offers?
You haven't played STALKER and that's an FPS that's open ended with horror and rpg elements, but you played a few FPS and assume they're overrated because you don't like the genre in general due to how they play like. Wouldn't it be better to rate the game rather than the genre? Because not every game in the same genre is gonna play the same. Like lets take Tekken and Street Fighter: Both are fighters that play differently but if I don't like them I would just say the fighting genre is overrated because I judged every single game in the genre based on a few games. Remember, I don't mind if you hate shooters, I just don't believe in calling something overrated because of just the genre in general. And to call certain games overrated that you haven't played because of the genre itself to me is misleading, heck some may not find the game overrated at all due to opinions.
Halo 3 ODST is overrated due to it'sreviews but I'm not going to dismiss the entire genre because of that one game. Sorry for the rant, it's just something I need to say. You can call the 360 overrated all you want, but your reasoning aren't the most detailed for why you consider it overrated.
But if someone rates the 360 as the best console ever, then you can call it overrated because it's rated too high, though since you rarely even touch the 360 I'm not sure if I would agree entirely though I know others would.
Last edit: You can agree with me or not when it comes to my rant but this is how I think overrated should be used for.
I don't know, I always saw "overrated" as meaning simply something you don't like as much as other people do, regardless of your reasoning. I mean, that's why I said FPS games are overrated, even though I haven't played a lot of them. And while PS3 and Xbox 360 have many of the same games, I prefer the PS3 versions, because of the controller and free online play.
Ok, fair enough, though for me I would have to put enough time to playing a system to enjoy it or not.
Though it's easier for a system to be bad like many of the ones you see in the 90s. Sadly I tried some of those bad systems. But there are underrated ones like Sega CD I think, it's bad compared to a good system but against even worse systems it wasn't too bad with some great games on it. Sega 32x wasn't very good sadly.
Timing is what killed them along with not so strong game support. Sega got carried away with doing all that to try to extend the life of the Sega Genesis and simply went for the Sega Saturn afterwards. Sega CD was just for FMVs and high quality music due to not be compressed by the cartridge, in fact The Terminator on Sega CD(which is a different game from other versions) had CD quality music that sounds amazing compared to a cartridge. But those weren't enough to make the system worth it considering the price and a lot of those FMV games are so bad like Night Trap. And 32x is well, allows 32 bit games, but for an add on wasn't worth it either.
Meanwhile Sega Saturn was good. Heck I remember playing Gex on it and that onemosquito game that I can't remember the title of.
That's only if:
One or even two of the big 3 leave the console business
If Sega gets enough funds for it
If Sega can get enough devs to help develop games for it
When Sega Dreamcast failed Sega was pretty much cursed to be a 3rd party developer forever. For them to have a new console now they would be taking a massive risk and Sega believes it safe to stay 3rd party.
Dreamcast 2? Yeah, not likely, if Sega wants those glory days of the Sega Genesis back they would need to work harder.Well, in any case, it doesn't look like it would happen anytime soon. I've heard some rumors about a new Sega console coming out before, but that never came to be.
By the way, I just beaten Double Dragon Neon on the hardest difficulty earlier.TAMKFan
Gee you must had like it enough to beat it on hardest, how often do you play on hardest anyways?
Now that game is done on all difficulties, what games you playing next?
I just find it funny how Capcom decides to release DLC for the new Devil May Cry a week after the game is out to give players a choice to play as classic Dante.
TBH I wanted Sega to make another console again and even stayed making consoles for that matter, oh well life is cruel. I mean they made bad systems though nothing as bad as Virtual Boy, but I believe they made more good ones of course and one of the best systems ever(Genesis).
Man Virtual Boy is so bad!
That DLC must have already been on the disc, I guess? I'll have to play that game sometime.TAMKFanWell it always takes time to make DLC and get it approved as well so it had to be on there or Capcom knew they could easily wait until the game is out so the already made DLC can come later. And it costs 4 bucks too.
I think I have only played the Sega Genesis out of all their consoles.NoteldnepYou missed out.=O

Well didn't Tekken Tag Tournament 2 have free DLC.
Oh and the Saints Row franchise is now owned by Koch Media since they bought the devs who make the Saints Row games.
True.
Here's some rumors on the next Sonic game and Super Smash Bros. 4 info.
For Sonic:The game is expected to feature 20 three-act stages, multiple playable characters to choose from and both 2D and 3D levels. A teaser for the game will also be expected to be launched on the 2ndof February, with the full reveal of the game to follow shortly after. Rumors are also suggesting that the game will ultimately be released sometime in September.
Yeah that game is pretty short, and while we all love Sonic it wouldn't hurt to have other characters. People tend to complain about Sonic's friends though.Hopefully, that's true for the new Sonic game. As good as Sonic Generations was, it felt a little too short and it should have had the option to play as characters other than Sonic.
TAMKFan
As for that Super Smash Bros. 4 info it's rumored to be shown at this E3, which is exciting!
When it comes to Sonic's friends, there's people who thinks that Sonic should be the only playable character, regardless if the other characters are optional or not. This is probably why Sonic has been the only playable character in every main Sonic game since Sonic Rush Adventure (which came out in 2007 and had Blaze playable), until Sonic 4: Episode II (which came out in 2012). Well, this is the Sonic fanbase, after all.
That too. I think they're worse than the Zelda fanbase, the ones who complain about art directions and even gameplay in those games. I find that funny since Zelda games have great art directions. When it comes to Sonic's friends, there's people who thinks that Sonic should be the only playable character, regardless if the other characters are optional or not. I think it's hard for the devs to listen to the fans anyways since so many have different opinions after all.
And lets not forget the Devil May Cry fanbase when the new DMC is bashed for changing how Dante looks.
I just can't wait until they have another Sonic game with Knuckles playable and with the same gameplay style he had back in the Genesis games.
Yeah. I prefer Dante's older design, but I'm not going to make a big deal over his new design like some people have.
I would laugh if they go with the Knuckles Chaotix route. It'll be unique though.I just can't wait until they have another Sonic game with Knuckles playable and with the same gameplay style he had back in the Genesis games.
Yeah. I prefer Dante's older design, but I'm not going to make a big deal over his new design like some people have.TAMKFan
Heck there are very few people who even prefer the new design though those are rare. But man, I remember all that hate the game has given when this game was 1st shown, never seen so much hate for a game changer of a reboot. Going by the demo the gameplay isn't bad at all.
But this is a new Rockstar retail game in the fall, that hasn't happened in years, it's usually spring-summer for those games. Even though GTA IV was delayed at least it came out in the spring.
But they were quiet about the game for the most part besides some info here and there so it makes sense to delay it.
