General Video Game Discussion

Sounds like you really enjoyed the game. There's a few PSN games I've been wanting to get, not just this. I'm not sure which I'll get first.

I would pick whichever game interests you the most.

Well, I'm not even sure which one interests me the most either.

You might as well go with which genre you like more then. Sometimes that helps. Like if you're torn between a fighter and a platformer, which would you pick?

If it were me I would pick the platformer.

Also when it comes to online gaming, shooters>fighters>racers>the rest, definitely against RTSs. I like team based things when going online and shooters offer that the most along with co-op for campaigns. I typically don't like to fight alone when I'm online and is also a reason I don't like to play fighters and racers as much as shooters online.

That's actually a difficult question for me, because those are two of my favorite genres. If anything, I would have to narrow it down to what series I prefer, if those games belonged to a series.

Yeah, most likely so, but what if they're new IPs? I guess it would be best to read up on them if that were the case.

Yeah, either that or watch gameplay videos of them.

Speaking of gameplay videos, I want record a gameplay video or two of me playing Tekken Tag Tournament 2 soon.

Gameplay videos always gets me interested in games, definitely if they make a good impression.

Will these be online matches or what? Also I still don't have official confirmation of getting that game either. And if you ask why, well, I tend to not play various games in a series. There are exceptions where I play every game in a series like Battletoads and Streets of Rage, but for most game series I don't play every game in them.

I'll probably record online matches sometime, but I plan to playthroughs of Arcade mode first.

I don't think I'll ever record a playthrough of me playing a licensed game, just games I'll make whenever I get the chance to finish them.

Though you are enjoying TTT2 a lot so I can see why you would do it.

In other news the PSASBR(Playstation All Star Battle Royale) beta is open to PS+ members now, but next week, the 23rd I believe it'll be available for everyone and it'll end on the 30th. That's not a lot of time sadly, definitely if you want more time invested in it, but having a beta beats nothing.

Seeing as I'm not a PSN+ member, I'll go ahead and get the beta on the 23rd. I actually probably won't get the game right away either.

OMG, inFamous 3 might be coming! If true that would be amazing seeing how I love inFamous series, 2 far more than 1, and more Cole is a good thing!

Still been playing TTT2 everyday since I got it. I wonder when that will stop.

Yeah I didn't agree with the reviewer's points about the morality system and combat, and most people who played both games prefer the 2nd one.

I don't think I played a game nearly every single day from release since 2010. Hope that will change next month though.

And since you like Tekken so much it won't be anytime sooner either.

I think I've now played TTT2 everyday longer than I've played Lollipop Chainsaw everyday when that first came out too. Now I wonder when they'll announce more things about Tekken X Street Fighter.

Playing online and ranking some characters up in offline. I've already gotten Lili up to True Tekken God.

Do you plan to get any other characters to that status? I know why you picked Lili, but I'm curious about the others.

Yes. I'm almost to that status with Angel, actually. Angel is one of the returning characters who wasn't in Tekken 6.

Are you glad she's back? It's always nice to have old favs back when they go missing from previous installments.

Yes, I very much am glad Angel is back. She's now my second most used character, after Lili.

I'm downloading the Playstation All Star Battle Royale Beta now!

Oh, I actually wasn't really fan of her back in the day, but in TTT2, I really like the changes they've made to her.

Oh yeah, I'll need to download that sometime later, then play it some.

Oh well, that's good.

I don't like how this beta doesn't let you fight the cpu, would had liked to see how the a.i. is. But playing like SSB is already a plus and it's easy to get into. Enjoy the beta while you can since it ends on the 30th. I'll probably try to master Kratos maybe.

I'm not into trophies, but wow, that does look very easy.

Yeah, I wish it would let you fight the CPU too. But overall, I enjoy the game so far and it's safe to say that I'll be buying it. I might even get it next month when it comes out.

I won't buy it next month, and definitely not at full price either. Then again I don't buy most games at full price now to begin with.

I don't buy most games at full price either. Just the ones I would really look forward to, such as Tekken Tag Tournament 2 from last month.

It also helps with getting less disappointed in games, note that the less you spend the less disappointed you'll be when that money can go to better things like a better game for example. I've bought games on day one at full price of course and became disappointed with said games and that hurts me as well. I know I'm not going to enjoy every game, but that money I could had saved!

Well, luckily, I rarely get too disappointed in the games I've spent full price on.

Some games just look so promising and don't fulfill it.

Also, remember, on November 27th that PSN Ratchet and Clank comes out, and it's 20 bucks!!!

GTA 5 is confirmed for Spring 2013...man I can't wait!

I actually just went to that page after you have told me about that game coming out on PSN.

That's nice. First time I knew this, since I haven't really followed GTAV lately. I'll be looking forward to it.

As for GTA 5, I know they are keeping it under wraps to surprise people, but the game really doesn't have enough info of what the game will be about. It doesn't have to be about the story at all, just some gameplay features, and more videos would be nice to give an idea of what the game is like. It could be like GTA4 or San Andreas for all we know. I don't want too much information, but enough to get me into the game. Then again they're likely saving that up a month or 2 from now.

As for me getting the game on day one, I hope so like I did with GTA4. Since there isn't sadly a PC verison until later thanks to how Rockstar doing their thing might as well get it on consoles, though I wonder if I go 360 yet again since it got ignored a lot ever since I'm played on PC and PS3 more, though I should give it more time once Halo 4 is out.

As for GTA V, perhaps it would be like a mixture of San Andreas and GTA IV? Some elements from the older games would be nice anyway. Such as more cheat codes, which was decreased for GTA IV.

I think it'll have more San Andreas in it, but I wouldn't mind it being like that GTA4 2nd expansion which is pretty awesome and was a great mix of serious GTA4 and wacky older GTAs. This leaked pic would give us a better idea:

Explorable environments that aren't cities are back, yes!

Yeah, I like TBoGT more than GTA IV itself. That game also introduced mission checkpoints for the GTA series and I'm hoping that'll be back in GTA V. Nice to see explorable areas outside the city again too.

Because of that(outdoor exploration and most likely to have checkpoints), we'll probably like it more than GTA4! GTA4 actually gets some hate for the direction it took the series and some go as far to prefer Saints Row, Sleeping Dogs and Just Cause 2 to it. While I haven't played Sleeping Dogs yet, I enjoyed all the Saints Row games, can't wait for the 4th one and I enjoyed Just Cause 2 because it's so much fun exploring, causing destruction and using the grappling hook and parachute, game is so much better than the 1st one that I would consider it to be one of the most improved sequels this gen, the original had quite a bit of problems. They're also games that don't take themselves seriously which I like as well.

I like GTA IV, but never thought of it as the best GTA game or anything. I prefer Saints Row too. In fact, I prefer it over the GTA series in general. However, GTA is my 2nd favorite sandbox series, after Saints Row.

True Crime and Mercenaries had a chance to be up there for really good sandbox game series but they ruined them with the sequels, I loved the 1st True Crime and Mercenaries a lot and then when I played the sequels they are just a step back in polish with annoying problems, I even forgot to put Mercenaries 2 in my list of most disappointing games, oh well, at least I got True Crime New York City on there, though Mercs 2 is a much better game.

inFamous is also up there for me thanks to inFamous 2(even though inFamous 1 is good too), love that game.

I want to try the new Need for Speed game, called Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which is a reboot or whatever of the 2005 game by the same name. I have that game on PS2, by the way.
