Stargate sg-1 season 10 (2x20) episode discussion "Unending"
Spoiler Warning !!!
i thought this day wouldnt come for a long time but unfortunately its here today :( having read the gateworld teaser about this episode it sound very similar to a previous stargate episode....i wont say the name cos i dont want to spoil it for you...i just hope its not mjk1From the description, I even more immediately thought of the TNG finale "All Good Things..."
I don't want it to end :). I really don't . Here are my emotions through this glorious last episode of SG-1
Anyway it was an amazing and memorable episode. I was very very sad about Thor and the Asgard as they have been one of our closest allies since season 2. I'm gonna miss the little guys . Had I not heard about the movies, I would definitely have thought that they'd kill someone off. Anyway, it was the best ending a show like this could hope for. Thanks SG-1, I'll miss you :).
yup it was really sad when the asgards blew up their planets, if you think about it the galaxy dosent have the so called '5 great races' anymore. the asgards are dead, the tollans are probably dead too, the furlings are most probably extent, that leaves the nox's and humans.......the whole galaxy is going to crumble...nooooooo :? Â lol mjk1
But we do have Asgard tech now :D. We can kick Ba'al's ass easily (something tells me I'll regret saying that :|) and we can go one on one with the Ori now! Their ships seem to only fire forwards so we can flank em and kill em!.

Shockwave isn't gonna be happy when he sees this episode...KnightsofRound
Indeed :(. I was absolutely gutted when it happened. I had hoped that he would make an appearence in one of the movies. Then again the 2nd movie does have time travel. Perhaps we'll see him when SG-1 go back to the past :).

I voted > > Seriously though, I'm glad they ended this debocle. As for me, I'll probably continue watching the show from season one to eight, I just finished the season three finale the other day. True class, no mitchell, yeah, can't get much better.Sarge_Maximus2Wow, other than the season openers and enders, I considered seasons 7 and 8 oretty much train wrecks, and for me, the less said about season 1, the better. On the other hand, Morpheus is about the only stinker to my taste from seasons 9 and 10. Different strokes... :)
What's so bad about 7 and 8? And season 1 is one of my favourite seasons because it has so much exploration and potential to be used later on in the series. Like what the hell happened to the Nox? Such a wasted opportunity.KnightsofRoundSeason 7: Orpheus, Revisions, Life Boat, Enemy Mine, Space Race, Resurrection Season 8: Icon, Avatar, Affinity, Covenant, Sacrifices, It's Good to be the King I considered all those episodes pretty astonishingly bad. My main issue with season 1 is that it was so wildly uneven. There were some good episodes, but a lot of it felt like cookie cutter sci-fi to me, and I felt it didn't yet have it's distinct voice.

True. But I liked some of those episodes that you've listed. Although some of them aren't that great. Space Race could have been a lot better but I still enjoyed it. Although I was irritated that that alien guy (I think his name was Warrick, or something) was played by a different actor, and he looked way different. I'm surprised you didn't like Avatar and Affinity though because they gave some good insight into Teal'c's character.
I guess its mostly just up to personal preference.
i like those episode you've listed as well, i thought season 7 & 8 were great just like all the rest of the sg seasonsmjk1Hey different strokes for sure; I should have put a big "in my opinion" around that. I'm definitely not trying to say that they were objectively bad, just that the ones I listed felt more like Andromeda episodes (ouch) than Stargate episodes to me
Oh shut up! If you want andromeda, watch season nine andten! Seriously though, if you didn't like it's good to be king, you must have also hated Paradise Lost, Window of Opportunity, Urgo, Wormhole X-Treme, and a bunch of other terrific episodes. Besides, season eight's finle (Threads) was the best stargate episode I've ever seen, and thats coming from someone who loved everysingle one of them from seasons 1-8 except spirits.Sarge_Maximus2Moebius was the season 8 finale ;) But yeah, I mentioned specifically that I thought both seasons had good opening and closing eps; disliked Paradise Lost hated Urgo with the fiery passion of a thousand suns, and loved Window of Opportunity and Wormhole X-Treme. But I guess I'm dragging this thread off topic and should shut up :)
Moebius was the season 8 finale ;)xaos
Indeed? Well it wasn't good enough, so I just treat Threads as the seqason finale. I can pick and choose. As for emancipation, it wasn't that bad at all imo. I do hate feminists though...
Agreed, and mobeus ruined the whole ending of threads because it came out differently. Threads pwns.Sarge_Maximus2One little fishie ruined it? :)

No, the whole episode did, it's like threads never happened. Made me quite mad atually.
thats exactly what i was think, they all could have uploaded their minds into machines, but then they would be almost like the replicators which they wouldnt want, it would have been better if thor had explained some more why they couldnt survive anymoremjk1How do we know they havent uploaded their minds to machines, we dont even know for sure they were all on that planet, it was suggested they were but the asguard do always tell everything, they could still be some around if the writers wanted them to be.

yeah like the one in atlantis, but eventually they were all going to die, so i dont think the writers are going to bring them back Â

Thing is im not sure the entire knowledge of the azgurad could be stored on board the earth ship even with an azgurad computer, and history would suggest the azguard like to have a backup and keep check on things, i know they could have a backup hidden in the mainframe, and they have used this method before, but its alot to entrust, and why wouldn't they just get the knox to keep everything safe. (I havent seen them in ages and i have missed some episodes along the way, so if they are gone then feel free to correct me)how do we know they haven't?
the said that they gave earth the entire knollage of the asguard,
they didn't say it was the only copy.
and abyway, the asguard would want their knollage to be used; that their legacy put to something. The nox would not of done that, they just would of hidden it away, and played hide and seek.
Â
I watched a repeat of this episode the other day, it wasn't as good as the first time I saw it. just taken as a normal stargate episode it's quite bad; but It was a good ending to the show.
I thought it was a good stand alone episode as well, the only thing with stargate for me is that alot of the storylines seem to have a root in alot of TNG episodes, trouble with my age i guess
