Anyone seen Team America? I saw it last night hilarious film! Probably their best. I mean it was just a perfect parody of action films.

I am a season ticket holder at my local club and I stay up untill the wee hours of the morning to watch United play.
And I used to play outdoor as a Holding Midfielder and indoor as a goalkeeper but I can't anymore due to health issues. I've been playing wall tennis though. ;)

Cool on the soccer. I was so bad that I took more balls off my forehead than anyone and I played Defense ... So I gave up and became a ref.

As for your playing wall tennis, maybe we can get you some friends and you'll have someone to play with. Kidding. I hope your health improves, or if it doesn't we can rent out a hospital wing and party till 9 PM!

Refering is fun. I used to referee at school sport's days sometimes (not because I sucked but because it was fun) and I sent off some people.

[EDIT] Anyone realise that, even just in the Special Achievement Rewards section of Gamespot, that in most categories, 4/5 of the games are XBOX 360 games? ...doesn't that sound a little... uhh, biased?

While I'm not an avid supporter of Microsoft (more of Nintendo), the 360 deserved it. Although the PS3 and the Wii (moreso the Wii so far, IMO) have made a lot of progress from last year, the 360's longer presence can be seen easily in the number of quality games coming out for the system. What Sony needs now is to get the 3rd party support they had with the PS2 back to some extent. Nintendo needs to get Brawl out the door, and make a Zelda game designed for the Wii from the ground up. And third party developers need to put more effort into Wii games, rather than just porting them. Microsoft has its work cut out for it maintaining its current dominance on the game market, since the PS3 is finally gaining steam in rivalling its "supremacy". (We also need to get FFXIII and FF Versus XIII, if they stay exclusive that would be awesome for the PS3. Did you see those two new trailers? They pwn all life. :shock: )

From personal experience this holiday, the PS3 is an awesome system, but needs games. This is demonstrated by its connectivity with the PSP along with the myriad of functionsit possesses, it seems a more open platform than the 360. The 360 has a load of great games, and the Wii has a lot of good games, a great improvement over its lineup before now. This is the most even I've ever seen the console race be, it'll be interesting to see where it goes. The question now is, when does next-gen arrive? Will Microsoft hold true to their promises to shorten the console lifespan by releasing a new Xbox in 2009? Will the Wii become outdated quicker than expected, forcing Nintendo to bring out a new console around the same time as the new Xbox? Will Sony hold true to their promise that the PS3 is future proofed enough to get to 2012 even if Microsoft comes out with what will undeniably be a stronger machine in 2009? All is yet to be seen. ;)

And also, Assassin's Creed won Action/Adventure!!! YES!! AC Ftw! :P I knew it was awesome. :lol:

Oh, wait they didn't like Odin Sphere much so maybe it was a suprise for them that it was good.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would have to be the pick of the bunch though. The only thing going against it that would amke someone think it mgiht suck is its rather long development time but appart from that it was always gonna be good. It was flawed of course but it always sounded very promising.

I don't see the point of having FIFA nominated for best original music? Does anyone care about music in the god damn menu? No? Okay then.

Best original story? Orange Box simply shouldn't be nominated for anything as it isn't not a game. Nominate Portal that's fine with me.

The Orange Box being nominated for GOTY and RE4: Wii Edition not recieving a single nomination is quite simply insulting aswell. Of course if the individual games from TOB had been nominated I wouldn't care. :)

It's a bit odd that Persona 3 won best RPG as I believe it scored a fair bit lower than most of the other nominees didn't it? Still I suppose it won because it was somewhat different.

Assassin's Creed wasn't even in the nominess for Best Game of 2007, yet they put rubbish in there such as Forza 2, World In Conflict, and Rock Band. :lol: I mean, they're not bad games, but really, there are better.HyperMetaDragon

Forza 2 (going by Forza 1) is a very good racing game. Rock Band sounds like a pretty good casual game and i've heard mixed things about WiC. :P

I think disliking Forza 2's status will be a thing for a lot of people. (Myself included) In essence of it being a racing game based directly on reality, using real cars etc., it won't be as development intensive as other games we already consider to be awesome. (Like the FF series, Zelda, Mario, other long-running video game original ideas) So on the basis of "it doesn't deserve to stand alongside them" type thing. At least that's what my feelings are. :P

It wouldn't be easy, but it wouldn't require much in the way of individual thought from the developers. They don't have to invent anything, they just have to make the already known parameters work. Though I don't think "development intensive" is quite that. It's a hard thing to explain exactly, but I hope people understand the message of my yammering. :PEndlessGame

I get what you mean but if a game like Crysis (that is technically good but appart from that there doesn't seem to be too much to it) can be nominated I see no reason why a racing game simply because it's a racing game can not be nominated.

Think of it like this. Photorealistic portraits are considered art are they not?

I still stand by my statement...there were way too many awesome games that came out this year that should've taken the place of Forza 2.HyperMetaDragon
