Thanks dude. 8)
Welcome Shawn to the union. Awesome to see that some vetern writers who have had success in the feild of writing are joining :)I'm not sure I'd really consider myself a veteran writer, though I have seen a few small successes. For poetry, you have to really suck, or not be looking in order to not get it published in Canada. Of course, there are some rules you need to keep in mind. Rhyming poetry generally won't get picked up anymore because the literati consider is too cliche, and I can't say they're wrong with that in regards to end-rhymes. I'd recommend checking out the links page at the Carleton University English Literature Society webpage that I manage (http://www.carleton.ca/els), some of them lead to some pretty decent small-time publishers that tend to be searching for more work. Often they put out contests, like ARC, where you can even get yourself some real cash as opposed to CV-feed.

Hi, I'm Lance and I got invited by Sparky over there. Sorry for not knowing your surname. Anyway, I'm 19 years old, have been a GameSpot member far too long now and I like RTS and RPG games. I'm not a writer, but I thought to do a favor for Sparky (again with the name) and here I am. Lance_C
Name: Steve (don't call me Steve-O or anything like that; if you don't wanna call me Steve call me the G-Man, because that sounds so much cooler.)
Hobbies: Piano, writing (um...duh), Soccer, videogames (doy), drawing, and school (not for the whole learning part no one pays attention to; the whole "hanging out with friends" part of school)
Favorite Games: Shadow of the Colossus, Mario platformers, Zelda, most of the Metroid games, Halo (1 and 2), Gears of War, Resident Evil 4, stealth games, Guitar Hero, etc.
Reason Why I Joined this Union: Sparky broke into my house, pointed a gun to my head, took me to the computer, and told me to join this union or he'd splatter my brains all over the floor.
Other Random Stuff: Right now I'm trying to reply to the blog posts of my buddies if I can. Also, I'm in Video Production at my school so I know how to edit videos. I've actually made a God of War II video with clips of GameTrailers, but I can't upload it since I'm not level 10.
Guilty Pleasure: Going to System Wars.
You People Should: Track me. I don't have too many people on my friend list right now, and that needs to change.
Favorite Movies: Casino Royale, The Matrix (the first one), Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Prestige, Forrest Gump, Princess Mononoke, Batman Begins, Lord of the Rings, etc.
Favorite TV Shows:Â Heroes, House, Monk, Psych, Seinfeld (diss any of these and DIE.)
Videogame sites/magazines I hate: EGM, 1Up, Gamepro
Favorite Music Peoples: Five for Fighting, Queen, The Who, Rascal Flatts, Counting Crows, Bon Jovi, All-American Rejects, Nickelback, Daughtry

Hey, I'm EndlessGame. (Real name is Stuart...but anyway) In my free time, video games and writing are definitely what I do most. I'm only 16, so there'splenty of free time for me. I also RP on some online forums but they shut down recently. :( I've been looking for a place to get inspiration and have my writing critiqued so here I am!EndlessGame
Welcome, glad you ended up joining. I'm looking forward to hearing more about that novel your working on. I am 16 as well :D. I used to RP, mainly wrestling though :D. We should try and get a RP topic going, well if we had more people who were interested in RPing ...
Welcome :DÂ
Hi everyone.
I am currently a college student transitioning between collages (I don't like the one I am at very much).
As for writing experience, I went to the Walnut Hill School in Massachusetts, a private art school, where I majored in creative writing for two years. I have been published for poetry in several major literary magazines and journals, and I have worked as an editorial intern for PC Gamer magazine, writing articles and previews. I hope I can be a great addition to your union, and I hope my experience in the field of writing can be beneficial to all.

Feel free to contact me here or at Sonicdivision on AIM.

Welcome aboard, Sonic! You'll certainly have a chance to help critique some stuff, and hopefully put up some works of some sorts of your own. :D
Also, though, watch your double posting and just edit your message next time, brah.
Hi. My name is Devon but you can call me Dev Devoo or Devon. :P
Â
I like to play video games, skateboard and I actual like to write essays. In school, if I am assigned an essay, I write it with happiness. I also have found a big liking in Gamespot and I like to write reviews and talk about things on the Forums.
Â
Anyways, thats it for now. Peace.
I think I'll go with Devoo55, if that suits you :P. I had to pick that, only because it wasn't on your list. Welcome to the union and all that. If you need anything, just ask, most members are willing to help ya out, and the ones that aren't, well I'm currently working on their elimination :PÂ
Welcome SonicDivision. It's nice to have another published poet/author in the union, aside from myself. I look forward to reading and commenting on more of your stuff (as my lesson planning allows of course). Did you happen to learn Russian from your parents? I'm a little rusty (okay, really rusty), but I find the similarities in our background interesting.
Welcome Devon. Have you ever written an essay that wasn't meant for school? I'd be interested to know what topic you chose, and to see how it turned out. I've written a fair share of essays for university and for literary magazines in the past. I've tended to focus on gender issues, but not exclusively. One of my better essays focussed on the nature of apearances in Francis' Burney's Cecilia. I'm also currently working on a thesis on the commanding role of women in the works of Shakespeare, but it'll be a while before I get through with that. Anyhow, welcome to the union.
