The Wrestling Machine in action
http://www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/
August 1, 2006

The Wrestling Machine will be in the house when ECW on Sci Fi returns to the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City Tuesday night.

Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle will be in action, although his opponent is still unknown. Last time Angle stepped foot in Hammerstein Ballroom, he was victorious over RAW's Randy Orton at ECW One Night Stand. Who will step up to challenge the Wrestling Machine this time?

Last week, Paul Heyman denied Sabu's request for an ECW World Championship match and ordered him to leave. Instead, Sabu came to the ring after Big Show's victory over Kane to bash the ECW Champion over the head with a chair. Will Paul Heyman have anything to say about the Death-Defying Maniac's actions?

Also, CM Punk will finally make his ECW on Sci Fi debut. Will the straight-edge Extremist walk out of NYC with his first victory?

Find out all this and more Tuesday night at 10/9 CT on Sci Fi.

Looks like a really good ECW, with CM punk debuting, and Angle finally in action, I look forward to this one.  All we need is RVD back. Oh I had the weirdest dream last night to, I dreamt that RVD came back from his suspension and immediately was back in the title hunt. He was scheduled to be in a triple threat match with Edge and John Cena for the WWE championship. It was so weird....

I don't know about him going against Angle because Angle is also returning to so I think they want to give  Angle and Punk a win. Besides I think WWE might think that going against Angle might be too much for Punk to chew for his first match. But if he did go against Angle that would be pretty awesome, knowing WWE though he's probably up against Stevie Richards. Actually.....I would put money down that he's up against Stevie Richards.

I see Angle or Test taking on Sabu, perhaps as HEymans way to punish him.

i don't think Punk would care if he lost to Angle as long it was a good match. most of Punk's best matches were losses.

I think that Balls will take on Angle unless Angle is heel. If he is heel, then I have no idea who he's gonna face. As for Punk, I think he could take on Shannon Moore or even Sabu if he's heel. But sadly it most likely will be a jobber.

As for the main event, this has yawn writen all over it.

Well I'm not saying that Punk would care if he lost and that's why Angle is out of the picture, I'm just saying that when a guy debuts they almost always win their first match, you know what I mean.

How do we even know they'll be having a match together? I doubt they would, but if Vince is booking then it could happen.

A pretty damn promising edition of ECW this week.

I hope a lot of backstage crap gets cut for more action in the ring instead. With a one hour period of time for the show, I hope the slot can be satisfiable for the content mentioned in the preview. With the show's venue being held at the Hammerstein Ballroom, I am sure the crowd will play an entertaining factor of the show regardless.

I feel the Show/Batista main-event will come nothing but good like last week's main-event featuring Kane instead. It'll probably finish in a 'no-contest' now that I think about it. Nevertheless, the match will sure have its spots.

I am predicting that Angle's return match will probably end up being a squash type of match against the likes of Credible, Guido, and highly possible, Richards.

Now, on to Punk, CM Punk, I have an odd feeling that his debut won't be a disappointment at all. He's been built up superbly over the recent weeks and I feel as if it will reflect on his match tomorrow night, regardless of whether it's a squash or job. Plus, he'll probably be hot with the Hammerstein Ballroom crowd.

Retnurs like Angle & Debuts are about a 90% chance at a win as you said. I honestly don't think they will face off tomorrow. I do believe though that that would be the perfect way to debut Punk and it would probably end up being MOTN.

Nah, I'm going to make a bold prediction and say Batista wins, then at Summerslam, goes on to beat Booker T, to be the first person to simultaneously hold the ECW/World titles

I'm looking forward to seeing cm punk debut. i haven't seen him wrestle, but i here he is very popular for his in-ring skills. I also can't wait to see kurt angle back. every time he's in a match, i'm always out of my seat. batista vs. big show should be good too. these two big guys will really go at it. Overall i think this might be the best ecw show since its return.

The match I'm looking forward to most:  Hammerstein vs Entertainment Championship Wrestling.

If they are anything like the ONS crowds, and they damn well should be, they'll be voicing their displeasure loud and often, hopefully and specifically, during ShowTista and the inevitable Kelly segment.

Also, good move by WWE to hold off on Punk's debut to Hammerstein.  Even with the good hype job they are giving him, Hammerstein strikes me as the best place to debut him to get him a strong reaction.

Speaking of Hammerstein vs Entertainment Championship Wrestling

Hammerstein Ballroom gets extreme August 1, 2006

For the first time since One Night Stand on June 11, the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City will get extreme when ECW on Sci Fi is live from the venue Tuesday night.

In the main event, ECW World Champion Big Show will defend his gold against SmackDown's Animal, Batista. Since winning the ECW World Title on July 4, Big Show has turned back every challenger sent his way...but after two losses to Mr. Kennedy last week, Batista's six months of pent-up aggression has only gotten worse. Who will walk out of NYC with the gold?

In another matter involving the ECW World Title, Last week, Paul Heyman denied Sabu's request for an ECW World Title match and ordered him to leave. Instead, Sabu came to the ring after Big Show's victory over Kane to bash the ECW Champion over the head with a chair. Will Paul Heyman have anything to say about the Death-Defying Maniac's actions?

Also, last week, Mike Knox & Test brutally attacked Sandman, but were then later attacked by Tommy Dreamer. Tuesday night, it will be Sandman & Dreamer vs. Knox & Test in an Extreme Rules Match. Will the ECW veterans prove their extreme pedigree on Sci Fi, or will it be the newcomers who walk out victorious?

The Wrestling Machine will also be in the house this Tuesday night.

Also, CM Punk will finally make his ECW on Sci Fi debut. Will the straight-edge Extremist walk out of NYC with his first victory?

Find out all this and more Tuesday night at 10/9 CT on Sci Fi. wwe.com

How can you not Like Test...

So Angle comes back tonight....I hope he faces Benoit...that would rock.

Punk debuts.....The only question is witch Anaconda Vice set up will he use.. Side Effect,Flatliner,Rock Bottom(Best one by the way)

The Main event should be interesting none the less....Not cause who is wrestling just the crowd reaction to it.

Well the tag match should be good...but if they continue with the 1 extreme rules match per show trend, then that means the ECW title will be defended with DQ on (something that should never happen) and that reall bites. I hope they make the tag match long enough and brutal enough because the crowd tonight will want extreme.

I feel that RVD is going to return tonight. He's only three days left from officially returning, and I am sure he can get the same premature treatment as Orton did coming back earlier than expected from his sixty day suspension.

I doubt RVD will return tonight. CM Punk will definately win, Angle will probably face Danny Doring or another jobber, but I am not sure how the Batista and Big Show match will go down.

That tag team match was brutal and very nice. Dreamer looked in total pain, but at least he got to spank that Kelly.

After all that hype for CM Punk, that match was ordinary and average.

Mostly boring ECW, CM Punk needs better opponents if he want to get over with non-smarks (a.k.a. outside hammerstein).

This CM Punk guy doesn't look like anything special. I see people acting like he is already some sort of legend, and he only does a few moves in this match. The main event was decent, but too bad the nerds at the Hammerstein Ballroom will think anyone over 6'0 and 200 lbs. sucks.
