I guess we just have to wait and see what happens, I just don't get how they will explain his cashing in on a face without it being heelish, I mean his cashing it in last year was considered a little heelish. I mean, any other face then Jeff Hardy but I just see Punk coming out to boos on Smackdown. Can't wait for the spoilers on Tuesday. tman93
There was plenty of jeering going on when Punk came down to the ring.
Well after tonight, the total amount of times that the 3 major championships have changed hands has now increased to 12, and we've still not even done half the year yet.
how did orton lose. i expected 3 title defenses from him which he wins all three. then legacy slowly crumples from the inside with randy and ted feuding.
also what the heck is up with the edge vs. jeff match. Why have jeff win to only lose? Since when does a face lose to another face while current champion?

It must be championship give away year. The year when titles are just given away without any logic behind it.
Results from The Observer:
BUT WAIT, there's more. Punk just cashed in the briefcase and pinned Jeff after two GTS's. Very mixed reaction as there were people going nuts when he came out, but also a lot of boos from other fans. So Punk is the new champion.Bryan Alvarez
After reading that, I am more convinced than ever CM Punk is going heel.
If not, are they TRYING to burry CM Punk? Or is the WWE just that stupid?
Awesome. Edge/Hardy sounds awesome and Punk cashing it in makes my day. I'm disappointed they didn't do it like RVD cashed it in, but Punk winning the title is a moment worthy of celebrating (again).
The only way to effectively sell Punk as a heel would be to turn Edge face, and I doubt that is happening yet.
I could see Edge feud with Jericho and that would turn Edge face tho.Â

If CM Punk is going heel, Edge really does need to turn face, IMHO.
The only title switch that didn't need to happen and makes me question why they even did it is Batista winning the title. It just doesn't make any sense.
Otherwise, Dreamer winning doesn't do anything to bring Christian down and adds a nice new storyline to ECW with possibly both Swagger and Christian nipping at Dreamer's heels for the title, that's if he doesn't lose it right away on Tuesday.
Jeff winning possibly means that he hasn't resigned and they needed to get it off him so Punk had to cash it in.Â
But like I said earlier in the thread, the way you'll know whether or not Punk will cash it in? Whether he wins or loses his match. He won his match and was able to cash it in as opposed to beat and not physically fit to cash it in and win the match.
Jeff winning possibly means that he hasn't resigned and they needed to get it off him so Punk had to cash it in. sephy37The thing is, why even have Jeff Hardy win the title to begin with? Unless they're turning CM Punk heel, just have him defeat Edge for the title. That way, the crowd is happy, and not split/upset, because their hero Jeff Hardy just got screwed.

Totally called it. I'm glad Dreamer got the win, but I can see him retiring and vacating the belt anyway.
If the spoiler I read in the other thread is correct, I have a feeling that Triple H may return or someone will have to step up as lead face. MVP perhaps?
EDIT: Wait.....oh christ no. We all know who it is going to be.
Hey on the same day Dreamer captures the title he held for 30 minutes in 2000, Jeff Hardy holded the WHC for 2 minutes isn't that some sort of shortest "world" title reign record?
WWE no longer care about lengthy world title reigns anymore, especially the WHC. To them, John Cena's 84-day reign is like 400 days to them.

If they only knew how long it felt to us.
Exactly:[QUOTE="tman93"]This had better be a Punk heel turn, otherwise giving it to Hardy is probably the stupidest thing I have seen WWE do in a very long time.Link256
1. What is the point of giving it Jeff, if you are going to just Yokozuna his ass?
2. Would it have not made more sense to have CM Punk defeat a face?
3. If CM Punk is turning heel, I would sure like to know what the **** WWE is thinking? As it is, SmackDown bit too heavy on heels.
Â
I think, at least in my mind, this is the 'E way of getting Jeff to resign. Showing him that he is still very much getting the title by giving him the taster of the belt. While at the same time showing him he's a fan favourite (he got way! more cheers than CM Punk). He's signing sometime this month, right? I have a feeling the 'E are testing him and if he resigns he will be winning the title at The Bash.
I am usually bad at assumptions though, so take a big grain of salt with my logic.
I don't know about anyone else but I really enjoyed this PPV. The Raw matches (with the exception of the US Title) were all rubbish and if the Hog Pen Match isn't voted Worst Match of the Year, I'll be shocked
However, the SD matches all delivered, Dreamer getting his moment was great and the big twist at the end with Punk winning was awesome. It was also nice to see Hardy win the title even if it was for like a minute
I really do think Punk needs a heel turn. Because like Cena and Batista, Punk is someone else who's character has gotten a bit stale
Jeff Hardy Suffers Injuries At Extreme Rules
Jeff Hardy's girlfriend Beth Britt posted a tweet on her Twitter account noting that Jeff sustained a broken finger and some sort of a shoulder injury during his ladder match against Edge last night. No word yet on the severity of the shoulder injury or if it will keep Hardy out of the ring.

That must've been during the WM 23 bump they did.
As for Punk's character getting stale, I can agree. I mean being Straight Edge myself, I've always wondered why they've not utilised this so much in the WWE. Only thing I remember regarding it was the drinking contest with JBL last year.
As unbelievable as it might sound - Batista's WWE title win last night was the first time the WWE title has changed hands in a steel cage match. Also, this is the first time that the five top titles (WWE, World, ECW, I-C and U.S.) have all changed hands in the same week.

Knowing how the E forgets their own history within years (sometimes even months), they probably didn't have a clue
