WWE presents Summerslam live on PPV on Sunday, August 18 at 8 PM ET. This event will be broadcast live from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California. I've added each superstars Win/Loss records for Summerslam Events (You'll find them next to their names).

(I prefer this poster for some reason?)

Matches Announced For This Show(Keep checking back for more updates)

WWE Championship: Champion John Cena(4-5) vsDaniel Bryan(2-1)

custom_wwe_summerslam_2013_match_card_by

Events leading to this match: RAW General Manager Brad Maddox allowed John Cena the opportunity to pick his challenger for this show. Based upon the fan's reactions, John picked Daniel Bryan to be in this match.

Brock Lesnar(2-1) vsCM Punk(4-3)

CM-Punk-vs-Brock-Lesnar-SS-2013.jpg

Events leading to this match: Both of these men have had long relationships with manager Paul Heyman. Punk's relationship with Heyman went sour after Punk lost to Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Punk wound up firing Paul as his manager but still wanted to be his best friend. While upset by Punk's decision, Paul kept appearances up and made it appear that he was still friendly with Punk. That ruse ended at Money In The Bank when Paul Heyman cost Punk a chance to win the Money in the Bank suitcase. The following night, Paul Heyman unleashed the wrath of Brock Lesnar on his former best friend.

World Heavyweight Championship: Champion Alberto Del Rio(1-2)vs Christian(3-2)

su.jpg

Events leading to this match: Christian earned this title shot by beating Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton in a Triple Threat Match a few weeks ago.

Inferno Match: Kane (6-4-1)vs Bray Wyatt(0-0)

SummerSlam-KvB.jpg

Rules of the match: I'm not entirely sure but I am assuming that the rules will be adjusted somewhat. In older matches, the ring is surrounded by a wall of fire and the only way to win that one is to set your opponent on fire. I'm guessing that due to the PG-rating of current WWE programming is that the structure of the ring will remain the same but you will have to pin your opponent instead of setting them on fire.

Events leading to this match: The Wyatt family debuted last month by attacking and injuring Kane. That injury kept Kane from appearing at Money In The Bank. The wall of fire should keep Bray's family members from interfering (Erick Rowan and Luke Harper) in this match.

Cody Rhodes(0-1)vsDamien Sandow(1-0)

20130805_summerslam_Rhodes_Sandow_HOMEPA

Events leading to this match: The problems between these former tag team partners began during the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Money in the Bank Match. Damien won that match by giving his friend a cheap shot. Things only got worse between the former members of Rhodes Scholars when Damien named Cody his "Protector of the Case". That didn't turn out well because Cody "borrowed" the contract and threw the case into the Gulf of Mexico.

TruthTellers (0-0) vs Sephy37 (0-0)

Events leading to this match: Over the past year these two competitors have developed a feud that has finally reached boiling point. On one hand we have TruthTellers, a relatively newcomer compared to some, but who has developed and contributed well over the span of time he's been here. On the other hand we have Sephy37, a veteran who likes to one-up his peers, laying the Smackdown wherever he ventures. Will the newcomer overcome the odds, or will the veteran put TruthTellers in his place? One thing is for certain -- we'll find out the 'Truth' to who's the better man come August 18th.

I must confess that I have not looked forward to a Summerslam event for a while now. However, from the looks of it this should be a memorable night. Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow have the opportunity to shine here, and have given us a great ''friendship gone bitter'' type of feud. Bray Wyatt has a huge opportunity to fully establish his character during his encounter with Kane. It's possible that his character might surpass the entity of Kane, perhaps that of the Undertaker. I obviously do not expect such a feat to be accomplished within the confines of one match, but I can see potential in him beginning a long road quite similar to how Kane started his career.

The feud between Cm Punk and Brock Lesnar looks to be heading towards a fight rather than a typical wrestling match. This seems to be Lesnar's strongest asset at this point, despite his previous two run-ins with The Game not quite delivering to their full potential. It's a shame that the storyline seems to establish that the actual feud here is between that of Cm Punk and Paul Heyman, with Brock Lesnar acting as Heyman's support. However, I'm still thoroughly looking forward to the outcome of this overall well-built scenario between these three talented individuals.

Lastly, my boy Daniel Bryan is finally gaining a phenomenal opportunity to establish himself into WWE's history books. I'm expecting this to not only be a great match, but perhaps a special moment in all wrestling history. That's if Daniel Bryan wins, of course.

These factors combined have encouraged me to buy this PPV, and I honestly cannot see many ways for this event to fail in considerable fashion.

Daniel Bryan should win because there's no reason for Cena to still be the champion after Summerslam. I'd love to see Bryan win, but I know that it'll likely last 18 seconds because Randy Orton will show up and hit him with and RKO and Bryan, perhaps the most talented wrestler in the world, will go down in history as the shortest reigning WWE champion of all time.

Now this is a good sephy, a sephy I could converse with about professional wrestling instead of the one-liner sephy we've been getting for the past year and a half.

All heel line-up? Interesting.

I just rewatched the WHC Money in the Bank ladder match, and just seeing The Shield, Usos, and Real Americans have that moment when they're all going at it before Ambrose knocks them al over....it just adds to my frustration that they are not on this card.

I can't decide if I should buy or not. I haven't watched any WWE lately but DAMN this card looks great. If Breaking Bad weren't on tonight, it would be a definite buy. As of now, I remain undecided.

The Reddit guy that has been 100% accurate for the past ungodly number of shows has posted his "predictions".

WWE SummerSlam is just hours away - and infamous Reddit.com user "Dolphins1925" has released his 'predictions' for the show. Dolphins1925 has been impossibly accurate with his WWE pay-per-view predictions this year - correctly calling the winner of every single WWE PPV match since prior to WrestleMania 29 back in April.

Warning: The following match predictions may contain *SPOILERS* for tonight's show:

Dean Ambrose vs. Rob Van Dam (US Title, Pre-Show):

Prediction: Rob Van Dam

Brie Bella vs. Natalya:

Prediction: Brie Bella

Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs. Big E Langston & AJ Lee:

Prediction: Big E Langston & AJ Lee

Kane vs. Bray Wyatt (Ring of Fire):

Prediction: Kane

Damien Sandow vs. Cody Rhodes:

Prediction: Damien Sandow

Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian (World Hwt. Title Match):
Prediction: Christian

Brock Lesnar vs. CM Punk:

Prediction: Brock Lesnar

John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE Title Match):
Prediction: John Cena

He also predicts that Randy Orton will cash in his Money in the Bank contract after the conclusion of the main event - but did not specify who will walk out of SummerSlam as WWE Champion.

With John Cena having surgery on his elbow soon - we could very well see Randy Orton as WWE Champion tonight.

People are saying this is a fake one or an impersonator. The real user usually makes a thread and this was posted in a predictions thing. Also, the real user posts it within a minute or two of the show starting, not this early.

Besides, if this were the results, I'd hate myself for buying the show.

Predictions in bold!

Cena v Bryan - Orton cashes in BUT Daniel Bryan beats him to retain.

Lesnar v Punk

Wyatt v Kane

Dolph/Kaitlyn v AJ/Big E

RVD v Ambrose

ADR v Christian

Rhodes v Sandow

Brie v Natty

Also, something happens during RVD/Ambrose where it'll lead to Shield vs. Show/Henry with maybe RVD as the 3rd if its 3v3. Show/Henry team to win.

I didn't realize the pre-show was this long. I thought it started at 7:30. After all, there's only one match, so there's plenty of time to recap everything. This just reminds me of Sunday Night Heat during its later days.

Also, Show/Henry/RVD already beat The Shield on Smackdown (yet another quiet loss to opponents lesser than those they've overcome on PPV)

Another solid pre-show match, lame finish, but understandable. I really do hope this leads to a little feud for the US Title and a Hardcore style match between Ambrose and RVD down the line. With those two, it could be a showstealer. Looks like LA's also going to be a good crowd. Shawn looks like the secret Wyatt. Glad WWE could find him in his cabin in the woods to bring him in to put over D-Bry.

Tout's for favorite Summerslam moment make me feel really old. Only two from the early 90s when Summerslam was actually treated like a big deal and one of them was for Undertaker vs Undertaker, so you know that guy was a moron, too. No Harts vs Demolition, Harts vs Brainbusters, no Bret vs Perfect (that'd be my pick), no Mega Powers vs Mega Bucks, no Bret-Bulldog.

Well, 15 minutes into the show (about the time that could have been allotted to RVD-Ambrose) and WWE has elected to waste that time. We couldn't have done the Anthem and Miz during the pre- show?

Wyatt's seem to be on a collision course with the Brothers of Destruction, which could be a great way to put over the group. Ring of Fire match was okay. The fire seemed to be as big a distraction as it was a benefit, though. Also, considering the whole purpose of the fire was to keep the Wyatt's out only for them to get involved was silly and didn't do Bray a lot of favors, IMO. I wish they could have figured out a way to use the flaming Kendo stick. That would have given the match some spectacle. Overall, though, the story of the match was the post-match antics. Unfortunately, WWE's feed cut out on me for I'm thinking most of Cody-Sandow, so I have no thoughts outside of sadness for the loss of Cody's lip fur.

World Title may be an afterthought, but credit Del Rio and Christian for not treating it as such. Damn good match. Post-match antics seemed like it may have been an opportune moment to set up a new challenger for Del Rio... and who exactly would that be? Orton's shifted to WWE Title, RVD looks to be dealing with the Shield, Christian's a placeholder, Dolph's being buried.

This Miz-Fandango thing is really dumb. Wow... Nattie's theme totally fooled me. I thought it was Bret. That was a severe letdown. Not sure what Bret would have done, but he could have sat in the ring to eat his dinner and it would interest me more than this match. I'd rather watch Bret watch an old Bret match. I'd rather watch Bret watch this match than watch this match.

WWE did sign Samuray Del Sol so he could challenge ADR.

El Generico has been killing it as Sami Zayn, but  I bet he could be money for WWE.
