No joke, i do enjoy paying for LIVE for various reasons

1) Paying for it encourages you to make the most of it and use your 360 online to the full extent

2) It ensures that other gamers who pay for membership could more serious gamers (though thats not always the case though, sadly)

3) MC may be a big piggybank, but from membership it ensures its financially stable, ensuring better service, faster connection, and also the 3 year guarantee is a major bonus, which was mainly possible due to people paying for LIVE (MC lost billions in repairing 360s, loses money on each console it sells, and money for games goes often to 3rd party develoers)

4) The gamerscore system is so sweet and addictive, its kind of like paying MC back for having such a great system

I doubt many of you will agree with me, but its annoying seeing people whine about how LIVE should be free without thinking about how this would affect the overall service (content, speed etc).

Oh and by the way before you ask, I dont work for Microsoft. Im a poor college student :P

I'm going to call you a lier when you tell me that you'd rather pay for something than have it for free, it makes no sense if you're a snae person whatsoever. And also it wouldn't be hard for MS to make it free of charge, all they'd have to do is cut off the gold subscription, just because of MS's shortfailings when it come to making an inadequite console, doesn't mean that gives them the right for them to make us pay for thier hardware failuers.

1. i dissagree. i dont feel compelled to go online jsut to make paying for it worth it.

2. no, it does no such thing. see halo2 and gears of war 12 year olds as a refrence.

3. Faster connection is BS, its about your connection on your end, and the connections of the other people.

even if i didnt pay for live i would still get coverage. i dont find it right im paying for some one elses dead console.

4. thats nothing big and worth paying for. PS HOME will have those for free.

Well done mate! Im sure glad you spotted the last sentence where it says that I'm a poor college student. Im SURE you spotted the irony of someone with not stacks of money not minding paying for LIVE. Pat on the back mate.

Im sorry, but in point 4 did you just say that PS3 has gamerscore for free? This isn't system wars, and obviously you have something against the 360 from your sig and Snake user pic, so im not going to pay much attention to a Sony fanboy. Sure it annoys me like heck that 360 has problems with hardware issues but I've had none for more than a year, and if i do have problems, so what? Im enjoying it while it lasts.

i made point 4 showing thats not something that should be worth 50dollars a year.

i have snake as my picture because i like snake. and as i have explained before, after going through 4 xbox360s (had to buy a 2nd one because MS didnt cover one of the issues my 2nd 360 had) i chose the ps3 because it was reliable. i have spoke nothing bad about the 360, so for you to just throw out my argument suggests you have no rebuttle to my points.

Master Chief is richer than us, that's proven. Considering the facts that we pay 50 dollars for Halo 1, 50-70 dollars for Halo 2/ H2LE and 60-140 dollars for Halo 3.

dont worry about him, he goes into every topic about the 360, and starts spewing negative comments, hes just a fake who ispi$$ed because his "other" system is sitting there collecting dust. so he comes here to pass his time....sad really

anyways, im fine with paying less than 5 bucks a month for an excellent service like live. if live was free, IT WOULD SUCK just like PSN does.

I would agree if I really used it. My only use for it is getting demos first as they decided that silver accounts weren't worth giving them demos at the same time as gold.

dont worry about him, he goes into every topic about the 360, and starts spewing negative comments, hes just a fake who ispi$$ed because his "other" system is sitting there collecting dust. so he comes here to pass his time....sad really

anyways, im fine with paying less than 5 bucks a month for an excellent service like live. if live was free, IT WOULD SUCK just like PSN does.

Unreal_393

all i said was "wait for halo to come out and play it before you give it a 10/10" god your such an extreme fanboy.

oh yeah, heres a pic to debunk the fact you think i just googled the picture of my halo collection.

so you pickked the more reliable but less fun system h what ever works for yathomass60r

more fun or less fun are oppinions. dont confuse it for fact.

facts are ive played my ps3 more this week than i have my 360 in the last 5 months.

to me, the ps3 is the best choice for my gaming needs. i still own my 360, i still buy games. but you are overly bias.

I agree with you. However I wish some games. I.E. Gears or Halo could get their own Servers. Gears has too many host problems, and I hate paying to play on some one elses conn. However, I don't mind paying 50 bucks a year either. It's a one time fee that I don't have to worry about until the same time next year. It ensures that I should recieve no downtime and fast servers. Anyone who says the microsoft servers aren't fast didn't download the 1gig of Halo 3 beta while 2 or 3 million others were. And as for 12 year olds on a game? I'm sure PSN has more of them because it's free. However sence mommy can ground 12 year olds from xbox live or stop paying it for bad behavior, we can sometimes see a lull in 12 year olds.

If your not going to pay for XBL, then what is motivating MS to actually make any improvements and maintain XBL, and since they might make it free, it opens the window for game publishers and developers to apply a charge for using there servers, kinda like whats happening with PSN, now I dunno about you, but I'd rather pay 60 bucks for a good service, than having a free crap service.

That is so true and Steam Community is 10x better than GFW and XBL.

And another good thing about paying for Xbox Live is that it stops/discourages people from making multiple XBL accounts. I bet you get loads of that happening on PSN and Wii online...
