No joke, i do enjoy paying for LIVE for various reasons

1) Paying for it encourages you to make the most of it and use your 360 online to the full extent

2) It ensures that other gamers who pay for membership could more serious gamers (though thats not always the case though, sadly)

3) MC may be a big piggybank, but from membership it ensures its financially stable, ensuring better service, faster connection, and also the 3 year guarantee is a major bonus, which was mainly possible due to people paying for LIVE (MC lost billions in repairing 360s, loses money on each console it sells, and money for games goes often to 3rd party develoers)

4) The gamerscore system is so sweet and addictive, its kind of like paying MC back for having such a great system

I doubt many of you will agree with me, but its annoying seeing people whine about how LIVE should be free without thinking about how this would affect the overall service (content, speed etc).

Oh and by the way before you ask, I dont work for Microsoft. Im a poor college student :P

The early titles didnt use PSN at all.

well then, that would explain why i was so missinformed. thank you for clearing that up.

but can i ask whats so horrable about PSN? people make it sound as bad as friendcodes.

GlassDominion youre just being a broken record now. Most (not all) people here don't mind paying a few bucks a month for the priviledge of playing LIVE and all its cool features. Its pretty clear you have something against MS (from your blog and posts) and your argument is not convincing anyone.

and you have provided nothing in your defence. the most you have as a defence is "its not that expensive"

rather than attacking me on a personal level why dont you try arguing your point? this is a discussion on xbl fees not on if you like me or not.

So each dollar I save counts. But Live is good though, just not free.

Im not attacking anyone Blk-Gnome, i was merely pointing out Glassdominon's unconvincing argument. I mean its impossible for you to be GlassDominion on another account, since that is not allowed on gamespot...hmm?

There isnt anything wrong with it. Both systems have the same features for the most, each offering its own advantages in places. Most 'problems' people have are with games which dont use it, or with things unrelated to PSN at all.

and if i remember correctly on the first page rather than discussing my points about your points, you chose to attack me instead. now are you going to debate this or are you just going to sit there and point "your repeating yourself"

and read the tos before you start quoting fake rules

GlassDominion

1. i dissagree. i dont feel compelled to go online jsut to make paying for it worth it.

2. no, it does no such thing. see halo2 and gears of war 12 year olds as a refrence.

3. Faster connection is BS, its about your connection on your end, and the connections of the other people.

even if i didnt pay for live i would still get coverage. i dont find it right im paying for some one elses dead console.

4. thats nothing big and worth paying for. PS HOME will have those for free.

Hate to say this, but why troll, I also like the PS3 more, but I dont troll and Live is better although PSN is also very good and allows different kinds of options, like mods, for example.

Everyone keeps saying how you get what you pay for but that isn't true. Just look at GFW Live you have to play that and Steam Community is 100x better than that is free.

I like it too, being a PC gamer, I'm used to free things, but each game has different online, so it's much less organized. I hate gamespy.

Team Fortress 2 even has achievements and in-game voice chat (sounds way better than Live). It's great...and free. Gamespy has been around forever and is integrated into many online PC games. Free. Xfire is a great PC game community tool. Free. There's really no justification for charging $50/year for what PC gamers have had for free for years. Live is just a glorified Gamespy/Teamspeak server. What's even worse is that while there are tons of dedicated PC gaming servers, there are few if any for Live. it's too bad there's no other choice if you want to play 360 games online.

Many games have their own score system now, however lets not forget many did before live as well.
