Its an action game.. you don't play an action game and then complain about the violent action.. rather silly don't you think?
Were you expecting there to be team based quiet discussion in a cafe multiplayer mode?
And if this was a joke post.. work on your material dude :/
@Brickz: Yeah I respect that he's got a different opinion to the mainstream. I mean many people who weren't into shooters tried gears and still didn't get what the fuss was about - but how could they? They weren't into shooters.
At the same time, a lot of the shooter crowd prefer the more twitchy bunny-hop gameplay that comes from HL2/Halo etc...
I was just saying, that his specific complaint was that a violent action game (marketed as such) had.. too much violent action... what else is there to expect? o_O
Grammar is amazing, isn't it? I personally haven't played the game since I beat co-op on all difficulties. It's the main reason I got the game, so I don't really find a need to complain on my end. However when I did play some of the regular multiplayer I wasn't very pleased. To many similar game types for me.

The game is awesome but I know we can all agree that is very overrated just like the Halo series being one of the best FPS games yet it is still probably the most overrated series of games ever.1_Hit_Killer
Sentances please, they allow us to see that your words are actually a cohesive idea.

You understood what I meant, right? Then it doesn't matter how I wrote it + I know you've seen worse crap than that in a forum so please don't try and sound smart by pointing out gramatical errors on a forum cause it's getting pretty old. I also find it a bit ironic that the guy who is talking to me about making sentences doesn't even know how to properly write the damn word.yall misunderstood me, i wasnt suprised by the gore, i didnt cover my ears as the locusts screamed as i split them in two i enjoyed it, in fact it was quite possibly the most satisfying kill ive had in a game, im just saying dont you find yourelf sick of the same chainsaaw scream and blood on the scream after a little while? i know i do i cleansed myself with some nintendo in factmisterbreadcrum
btw whats with the bashing of halo? i mean sure its not the bestest game ever in the whole wide world but its pretty good right? i mean its just got simple solid mechanics that most people enjoy, you want a bad fps just play the original goldeney on the 64
PS that WAS a joke
and no im not trolling i just want to see if anyone agrees. please dont respond with YOU SUX NOOB!!! or GoW PWNS YOUR MOM!!! im just voicing my opinion. anyways i think that im not saying its a bad game, its great infact it just gets tiring, what with all the ludicrous amounts of testosterone and blood thrown at my face, all the screaming and exploding arrows it gets a little tiring after a while misterbreadcrumi rented it took it back the same day. i hated the controls

Maybe mainstream media just hasn't desensitized you to gore enough. DIdn't really have any effect on me, especially given how stylistic the violence was. Blood isn't that syrupy XD
But my calling halo a twicthy bunny-hopper isn't exactly a negative comment. Its a fairly accurate discription. Twitch based is basically a reference to the shooting. Unlike Gears, as soon as you see red you pull the trigger. There's no cover or anything for you to worry about, you just.. shoot. And thats it. And bunny-hopping is what the constant jumping in those standard first person shooters is called. Like I said, its a rather accurate description of the gameplay type that Halo and halflife deathmatch offers. Gears and the Tom Clancy games are different from that formula, each in their own way. I believe CliffB was trying to coin the phrase "stop-and-pop" as a description of the gameplay in Gears.
All depends on what you like, personally I prefer the gameplay that Gears offers over Halo but that still doesn't make my other post a negative comment on Halo, its just a rather accurate description :)
The single player is good -- not great -- and short. The multiplayer is repetitive and laggy, with the online community consisting primarily of undesireables. Needless to say, I'm not the biggest Gears of War fan you're going to find on these boards.
That being said, your post is complaining about the violent action in a mature-rated action game, which doesn't make any sense.

Very good game graphically but limited in Gameplay, modes and the fact you could not play a ranked game with friends and host lag advantage was the nail in the coffin for me.
Gears kicks massive ammounts of azz and deserves more credit. This game is seriously underrated in everway. Everything is orig from weapons to design. Just my opin just can't see why so many people don't like it.jamesgj
That's going a little bit far and I'm a Gears of War fan. It gets plenty of credit. Game of the Year from tons of places D.I.C.E, GDC, Gamespot etc. People don't like it because it is a 9.6. But seriously what could you change about that score?
Yes, eventually every game will get boring at one point of time, however i was thoroughly impressed with the CO-OP mode. Single Player was great yet a tad short andMulti-Player got old for me fast. I do not think it's overrated atthe slightest bit. As for the gore i was fully aware when i bought Gears of War and i think the gore is a necessity in Gears of War.

I don't really agree - I love Gears.Fair enough ifthat's what you think though.
I must say, I don't really understand your reasoning; It's an action gameso what's wrong withhardcore action?
It's a really good game, even great, but I agree it's a TAD overrated. Things that bothered me:
1. It's really short. Like...really short.
2. Bodies disappear. Bulletholes disappear. I don't know why, but those things really bother me. It's minor, but it takes away from the realism.
3. Crappy storyline. But that wasn't too big of a deal.
That's about it. Everything else was pretty darned good.
While the originator of this thread's argument holds no merit, I too believe that this game is beyond broken. Maybe its my distaste for the robotic animations, multiple glitches, and host advantages. Or maybe its because its just another mediocre platform shooter that pales in comparison to any real PC shooter.
I speak the truth... even being an admitted Microsoft fanboy.
MS needs to focus their publishing efforts on other genres that might appeal to different demographics other than prepubescent teenage boys that scream like their little sisters whenever they get grenade tagged. I have nothing against the 360, other than the fact that I've had to replace it a couple of times. Just give me some RPGs, platformers, simulation racers, and fighting games and let me play my shooters on my PC.
