Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 VS Halo 3

Hello GameSpot users. I love COD MD2 and Halo 3 very much. I can't decide which is better. Which one out of those two do you think is the best? Eh, with COD you got cheaters and hackers and 12 year olds screamin and crying and campers. with halo 3, you got teabaggers and pro's playin the game like its their destiny. so it really depends on what you can tolerate. personally, i cant stand either at long periods of time

I preffered Halo 3 because it has so much more content, options, customiation and modes. Also I just love the gameplay of Halo, there is a lot of variety with vehichles, many more types of weapons, gametypes, custom gametypes, replays, custom maps etc. There is a ton of game in Halo 3, and it is all very polished. MW2 lacked a lot of polish, tons of glitches, cheaters etc. Bungie had those same problems with Halo 2 so maybe MW3 will be a more polished experience ala Halo 3 compared to Halo 2.

those games that require serious skill usually have a smaller following since they take a while to get into, and thus the games like that are rarer, but man those games still rock!

I don't think the 2 can really be compared; the styles of gameplay are too different. For SP CODMW2 wins hands down, but for MP it's hard to say. Both take skill once you reach the higher ranks.

I always thought that was the thing with halo though, that you might be really good but have a negative KD because you'll be playing with other really good people (at least in ranked matches), and conversley, you could have a high KD because you're enver good enough to go against tougher people. I have a few friends who are ace at Halo, and one has a KD of 1.04, and the other one of 0.93. I have a higher KD than both of them, but both are far far better at the game than I am.

These kind of topics are stupid. It all boils down to the preference of the player and what type of gaming they like. You cannot compare good games to good games when they are so different. Modern Warfare has it's own style, Halo has it's own style and Battlefield BC2 has it's own style. They all have great things about them that make them stand out as a great shooter. I have played all three and have enjoyed them all yet I keep coming back to MW2 the most. Does that make it a better game? No. It just means the game is more enjoyable to me than the others. I certainly play MW2 more, but i think Halo 3 is based much more in skill. if your a pro halo player, if you enter a Lone Wolves lobby or whatever, you will very likely come out on top. Sure, in MW2 if your good your more likely to win, but it's no sure deal. I'll routinely alternate a long kill streak with a long deathstreak in call of duty.

I do play MW2 more, because the leveling, unlocking and challenge system is simply amazing. Best in a game I have ever seen. When I play Halo these dayss, it feels useless. What am i "working on" at the moment? I like CoD in a similar way to the way I enjoyed MMOs, your always working towards something. Right now I am getting my final few levels to my 3rd prestige, soon I'll be working on mastering a gun or completing a title page... etc etc

The only problem i have with modern warfare is that the killstreaks are EXTREMELY overpowered. I can tolerate the whole I shot you in in the heart with a sniper and you didn't die or the "camping" as it's fairly easy to adjust. The problem i had while playing halo was that it was very very boring and in my opinion it's just not fun. I bought halo 3 at least 4 times and each time I'm left thinking that's it's just not fun to play. At least when i play COD i actually have fun playing the game.

ummm, ever hear of a little game called gears of war? It's not an easy game on multiplayer and I'm not sure if you ever gave it a shot, but you try going into a game, getting wall bounced, and getting blown away with a shotgun in a matter of seconds of contact. No kills are going to come very easy and it takes awhile to get good at it

MW2 is better. Halo is way overrated!

Heres why i pick Halo 3 , Mw2 and call of duty in general they release a game every year and it mind boggles me because There all the same Game nothing innovative or nothing weve seen 3 Cod games in Halo3 life span. And which all games are pretty much the same. Cod 4 Awesome when it cane out fun as all hell Cod WAW the exact same thing as Cod 4 same engine same layout just WW2 and Zombie mode wow . then we get Mw2 like WTF !?! ITS COD 4 BUT WORSE DEATH STREAKS , lets reward the noobs who cant get kills . camping seems to be the word of the day in MW2 ,Spawn point are Broken game seems like it diddnt have the love behind it and who charges 15 bucks for 5 maps rip off. . now halo Released 2007 whith a complete content layout you can save pics , videos , forge maps , Make custom games (if i dont wanna play regular halo how about SWAT) or i dont feel like shooting anything lets go play some griffball and bungie supports their community HEAVILY and im not saying this all as to be a fanboy im stating the truth Why pay EVERY YEAR FOR THE SAME GAME (COD) instead invest in a game that will last . thats why halo 3 survived for nearly 3 years.

Well the reason for there being a COD game every year is because you have two companies making the Call of Duty games... The one that made the original call of duty is Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward also made CoD2 CoDMW & CoDMW2. Then you have a side company Treyarch (spelling?) who seems to use the same engine to whip out these games really fast. They've made CoD3 CoDWaW and now CoD Black Ops... Honestly I bought Call of Duty 3 and saw how much it blew and I've never bought a game by Treyarch again... If they can actually put some time and innovation into a game it might be worth buying, but as far as I'm concerned they've only made half a$$ed games so far. However the sad thing is the real company that knows how to make games, Infinity Ward, has basically disbanded with a bunch of drama between Activision and a bunch of people at Infinity Ward. So knowing that you can see that Infinity ward only puts out a game every couple years which is about the same track record as Halo.

Your right they are... I was just trying to say that Treyarch games are complete rip offs of the call of duty series and people are stupid to even buy them. Just like you said... They're cookie cutters of each others. I love the Modern Warfare games... even though I get pissed off a lot of the time, but there's something about the game that is very addictive and fun for me. I also love halo... Although I haven't played it in a LONG time I'm looking forward to Halo Reach cause it will bring some sweet things to the table... And it will give me something to switch up with Call of Duty MW2.

Halo 3 is a good game. MW2 is terrible, I don't event think it deserves being discussed anymore. People, just go back to Call of Duty 4 already.

CoD4 > BC2 > Halo 3 > CoD WaW MW2 gets no mention.
