Devil May Cry 4---UNDER-rated

Just got DMC4 today for my 360 and after playing it for a few hours, i watched the X-play review on it. 3/5?!?!?!? I usually trust X-play.... But when they said it was repetitive and using one button going from room to room wasnt an improvement over the other DMCs i was shocked.

Yes, you CAN go through the game using pretty much just the Y button, but the game can be so much deeper than that!. Its trying to get the best ranks and scores you can and the fact that the game is so over-the top (action-wise) and has such a grabbing story that makes it fun. The fact that when using only one button for sword attacks you can pull off countless different moves was completely disregarded in their review.

DMC4 is an awesome game, and aside from the very minor and infrequent camera problems, i cant find anything wrong with it!

does anyone else feel the same?

have you even played it? of the 3 hours i have played it the camera only even slightly messed up twice.... neither time messed me up...

the demo was on human (normal) mode. it was too easy to be fun. the only way to really play and enjoy the game is to play it on a harder difficulty. i would reccommend this game to anyone.

what japanese developers do better than developers from other countries is animations and cinematics. I wash that some American and European devs would put as much attantion to this, because there are so many games with ugly animations.

I believe Ninja Gaiden Black was just announced for release on xbox originals, however, you can pick up a copy if you don't want to wait... ninja gaiden2 is coming out sometime this year... its a 360 exclusive... you haven't seen any trailers for this game?

Other than GameSpot, X-Play, and OXM it has gotten excellent reviews from everyone else. But GSpot and X-Play both have zero credibility X-Play because they are total tools, and GSpot because anyone with decent journalism talents has quit over the years.

I am glad Xbox fans get to taste what the Playstation fans have enjoyed for a long time. Devil May Cry is an amazing series I cant wait to purchase my copy of DMC4PeterTimpa

Games always have camera problems only games that do not have camera issues are FPS games and shooters with the over the shoulder viewpoint. Other than that it is something most people have not just started playing games in the FPS era of the last few years learned to deal with.

Ninja Gaiden Black is playable on the 360 and Ninja Gaiden 2 will be out later this year. I cannot possibly recomend Black enough. 5 completely different difficulties (different enemies, AI, weapon placements for each one), all of which are kickass. I assume Ninja Dog mode (easy) is good, I never bothered to play it on that difficulty. But I did play and beat it on every other difficulty. Even if you breaze through it (you won't), it's still around a 20 hour quest the first time through and with 50 extra challenges in mission mode, and an unlockable version of the Ninja Gaiden Arcade game, it's completely worth the price. I'd say it's far deeper in terms of a fighting system than any Devil May Cry game (I've played them all until 4)

I agree in a way. I'm a much bigger fan on Ninja Gaiden then I am of the DMC series, but you have to hand it to the DMC series for style. It's just cool switching up your combos with guns AND swords. Now if you give Ryu two MP5s, then...... :P

devil may cry is suitably rated.......it is old now, and is starting to get boring...id rather play DMC 1 instead, whcih was the only good DMC....on the other hand NInja Gaiden 2 is the best action adventure game ever made, plus its got majic, and blocks and is much much better than dmc.....Ironre5

THAT at least I'll disagree with. The special edition of DMC 3 is way better than 1. You just get so much more with it.

I dont really know what any of you are talking about when you say the combat in DMC4 is repetitive. Like i said before, it CAN be repetitive, if you dont try at the game. If you want the game to be repetitive, by all means, go ahead and just mash that "Y" (or [Triangle]) button and be bored with it. But dont say a game or an entire series is bad because you dont try to make it more interesting for yourself...

And the camera in DMC4 is (from a cinematic standpoint) the most interesting camera i've seen in a game. It has only 'messed up' a few times, none of which mattered because i wasnt in combat, and they were not that serious anyways.

if you ask me , im a DMC junkie i loved every DMC game , even DMC 2 was great in my opinion , so im buying this one for sure and im going to start on hard difficulity, and you are right about it being under rated it deserves something better.zidan4000

Regardless of all the different moves, it is still one button. I looked at some of the different Red Queen combos to buy, and they were all variations of Y button mashing. Half the time I couldn't tell one apart from the other.

And the game is just like all the others. The biggest differences are with the characters. You are Nero not Dante, so things change a bit. The game is gorgeous, and the dialogue, while cheesy sometimes, fits incredibly well and is well done, and the action is really flashy and well choreographed. The game is indeed fun, and I love the LE casing and such, but the game doesn't do much to change the formula. Face it, you are a DMC fanboy, and you are biased. You are trying to find random stuff to make it look new and improved because you want to defend it because you like it. There isn't anything wrong with that, but it doesn't mean a whole mass of people are dead wrong.

Ninja Gaiden isn't far removed from DMC's 1 button combo mashing scenario either. Ninja Gaiden only uses 2 and X is the main button with Y only only being used for a few select moves. With DMC4 and the devil bringer its the same situation now.
