EB and Gamestop......NEVER AGAIN!!!!

so i went to reserve halo3 SE, and the dude at Gamestop goes, "oh sorry were out, i can only take the regular ones....., you cant get them (special and Legendary)anywhere."....so im like eff it, ill rent it from blockbuster and get the special edition when i can find it,

on my way home, i stop at bestbuy and decided to check, THEY HAD around 10 legendaries and a whole bunch of regular and SE left to reserve......so i took a SE box and reserved it and walked out without any lines, and they also open at midnight for thelaunch....so why would i ever go back to EB again......sorry, you just lost a customer.

i hope you guys do the same and dont feed thos3 **** at EB and GS ever again.

Honestly, I work at GS and they told us last week that we werent reserving the legendary anymore at our store. But yesterday they then told us again that we can reserve 80 more regular, around 20-30 more collectors and 7 more legendary. So they might have been legitimitly out, but for him to say that no one has it anymore was just plain stupid.

The thing that pisses me off about working at GS is that there are so many idiots that get hired and have no clue about gaming. Make us gamers who actually know our **** look like idiots too.... oh well.

I too have had my share of idiot encounters. I went into one GS, a couple weeks before I got a job at the one I work at now. I was asking about the 360 Premiums with the HDMI.... he told me that the premium will never get HDMI. I wanted to slap the kid lol.

Well I guess it's all just a matter of where you go. I know that at my store most everyone is a hardcore gamer, which makes working there awsome... I just wish all of the stores actually would hire the people who are interested in gaming rather then just random people. We have a few part timers at my store that dont even know the difference between a 360 PS3 and Wii... how they got the job I have no clue...

Are you serious man? That is pretty neat. As for this topic, I like EB Games as its fun to see hundreds and hundreds of games everywhere around the store. I have not gone to one of my local EB Games for some time though due to the fact that I buy my games from BestBuy.ca or sometimes from the store itself. You can find idiots as employees at almost all stores, including Best Buy. I am not sure how they get the job when they do not even know what the hell they are talking about.

i realized they only sell used copies 5 dollars less than new usually, so why take the chances of a disc with little tiny scratches all over it when for 5$ you can get a brand new one?

I stopped going there as well. I got sick of them pawning off open games sold as new to me. I usually never noticed it until I would get home and at that point say eff it, but the last time i busted them on it I told them I will not buy a open copy and then they tried to grab a brand new sealed one out of the drawer. I told them forget it I won't deal with these sort of shady business practices. suade907

I hate that aswell and I think they only do that due to people trying to steal the games that are inside the cases. I think they should just put locked metal cases on all of the games which is the same way Best Buy does.

i bought Daxter for the psp used for only 5 bucks less, and it wouldnt go past the 3rd level....and since it was a UMD, i couldnt even see the scratch...thats when i stopped buying used games

That's why they have been pre-ordering it for like the last year. So that MS could get a feel for how many copies they need to make of each version. You're practically not pre-ordering it at all at this point as it's either already shipped or just about to be.

A rule of comman sense is that you can't pre-order something as the delivery guy is walking in the door with the game and expect to be satisfied all the time. If you're lucky you'll get one of the usual few extras they sometimes pad the order with, otherwise learn to use the pre-order by actually pre-ordering the game early and you should have no problem.

that same thing happened to me last year when i was 17, except they thought you had to be 18 to buy an M rated game. I told the guy and he didnt believe me so he asked the manager who was standing right next to him, he also said you had to be 18. and so i told them no its 17 for M rated games and 18 for AO games, which they dont sell, finally after talking for a few minutes i just told him to look at an M rated box, it says the age. lol, you would think the manager would know the age to buy an M rated game

EB Games and GameStop are horrible. Their sales are and discounts are nominal at best and their trade in credit is laughable. In my experience, the people who work for EB/GameStop don't know their ass from their elbow and always find a way to be as rude as humanly possible within the 5 - 10 minutes I actually step foot in the store. I've even had occasions where the no nothingkids running the store actuallyclosed 15 minutes early. God forbid they miss the Star Trek reruns on G4.Let's not forget how they take the discs out of the cases for used and occasionally newgames as well. Last time I was at EB, I got a lecture from thegenius behind the counter about how they were sold out of Bioshock and that I should have pre-ordered. I drove down the block and found a display with about 100 copies of Bioshock at Best Buy. They just can't compete with that large of a store. I'll never go back to EB/GameStop again. Phew! I'm glad I got that off my chest.

As far as the warranty plan you should read the accual contract. Example on their pc warranty it basically states they will run diagnosis software and if it checks out ok you are screwed. My point is depending on software to hold up a warranty is crazy.

Ok I'm not trying to sound like an ahole here, but did you ever think the reason they were out and BestBuy wasn't is because they are an actual game store they only sell games so every gamer went there and preordered not to mention gamestop probably didn't order that many copies of the SE, and Legendary editions for their store anticipating that most people just want the game and don't really care about the lame add ons that cost more.

this is kind of off topic but at best buy they had a 50" flat screen tv with a big dent on the back that isnt even noticable if its against a wall, so i went to buy it and the tag on it says 1080i, the original price was 1999 and i will get it for 1349, 100$ less then best buy paid for it,(thats what the guy said anyways) i ask to make sure its 1080i and the guy goes "oh no its 720" anyways ... long story short, best buy was gonna sell me a tv advertised as 1080i, that was only 720... and they would have if i hadnt asked about it
