Gears 3 Won't Come Out on the 360!

So yeah, I just read about what Epic said at TGS and one thing they mentioned was that Gears 3 won't be coming out this gen! That means we could be waiting 3-5 years before we see it! What do you guys think? I think that sucks because I like the games a lot! They aren't perfect but they are a blast!

if the devs are taking that long to develop the game it will either be totaly awsome or totaly shelved...

UPDATE: Epic's Michael Capps has since clarified his comments, and was less certain whether the next Gears of War would be for the current generation or not. Yeah, I saw that too. They added it after I had read it. Still sounds like it may be a couple years before they release it.

If gears 3 comes on the next gen consoles then I got alot of time to get to level 100.

If this Gen lasts anywhere as long as people are expecting that is going to be a very bad thing they might as well make a 3rd then try to have the 4th for next gen.

I'd rather Epic Games take the time to develop a stellar AAA Gears experience rather than to exploit the franchise every couple of years. Just don't do what 3-D Realms did with Duke Nukem Forever.

I'm okay with this, this can only work in their favor. By the time 2013 rolls around this game will have built up so much anticipation that it'll probably sell out the roof.

Thats good that Gears 3 isn't coming out soon on the 360 cause i rather wait for a better version on the new console sorry but i also think Gears 2 pushed the 360 to the limits so yeah i rather wait 3 yrs or so for a better graphics

Sweet, 3 years till I won't have to listen to people talk about the new Gears. WOO! Only going to have to deal with people all excited about them getting kills in Gears 2. Which is laaaaame.

Huh? I found Gears 2 to be quite enjoyable, and one of the best sequels to date. It didn't break the mold of the first game; No, but it's still a damn good game. To each their own I suppose, but I'd like to at least hear why you harbor so much animosity towards Gears 2.

i will wait until fall 2011 if GEARS 3 does not come i will SMASH every console i own and KILL myself thinking i will respawn(Like Halo Kid )

uh oh you know what that means. if theyre talking bout gears 3 that means they are already working on it. which means the next xbox is not too far away.

i really don't think it would be a bad idea to make a gears 3 for the 360. i would buy it. then they could make gears 4 on next-gen consoles.
