Like every video games movie, its gonna suck.
But, duh Im gonna see it!
Shmiity
Not every video game movie sucked Silent Hill was great it followed the game pretty well it was the best movie that followed the gamealong with itso far
single player on gears was good but not because of the story, just because of the graphics and some of the fights you get into.
when i completed it i was left wondering what the locusts were doing on the train in the first place. the bridge is out so they must of destroyed the bridge, as i doubt we broke the main exit out of the city your in, and they are taking some bombsor something with them. but they are driving the bomb/missle straight at they own underground base. so what where they trying to achieve, even if they killed you then they wud of drove off and blew themselves up. was a bit of a puzzle to me after i finally beat that boss at the end.
film might be ok but computer game films usually dink wudnt get excited about it until it gets a good review
what now?, told you they didnt have enough money. your just a rabid fanboySaintsRowSam

Where on there does it say anything about them not making it because right on the front page says Gears Movie Still On Course.
[QUOTE="Strider_91"]EVERY other?
What about resident evil. There some really good films and games
meconate
WHAT?! Resident Evil movie was terrible, too much stupid Hollywood action which messed up the film altogether. The only brilliant game made into a film in my opinion was Silent Hill. I was impressed by that. As for every other, horrible and pethetic. GOW is going to be horrible too. How are they going to get someone to look like all the characters? They'll get the usualTHE ROCKor someone like that. Honestly, the GOW movie will fail. I love GOW but i just know whats going to happen to the movie. Its happened too many times.
What do you mean how are they going to find someone to look alike all the characters they look with their eyes they already found a great one.
In few words:
Hope is dosnt suck...
But probably it will, knowing Hollywood it would be a big budget action movie, not a GOOD MOVIE...
gears of war the movie?
if they can get the right ppl to play the characters in the game and all the right outfits and guns and weapons and juice the storyline up a tad then it will be one **** hot movie, lets just hope they dont **** up the movie to this game like they have don to so many other games.
but id deffo drag the wife to go watch it with me, even if i had to watch a chick flick afterwards haa
me wife bought my gears of war for my birthday and for me its one of the best shoot em ups l've played and l only got my 360 on christmas day
Bruce Willis as Marcus Fenix
Tony Almeida as Dominic Santiago
Ken Watanabe as Lieutenant Minh Young Kim
Terry Crews as Augustus Cole
Josh Duhamel as Damon Baird
These are the people that were picked out to be the players but their not certain yet some i like some i dislike. You decide
You are all right to a degree about whether the Gears of War film is coming out or has been cancelled. The first part which a few people believed proved that Gears of War was done for was this Quote.
Gears Movie put on Hold?
October 4th, 2007
The IESB are reporting that Len Wiseman is no longer involved with the Escape from New York remake, which at first glance would imply that he plans to work on GoW. However, through IESB's contacts, it is now rumored that he is not involved in the video game adaptation either, and, more alarmingly, that New Line Cinema might pull out altogether:
Wiseman is also off the video game adaptation and New Line Cinema will most likely not move forward with the film at all. Our source is saying that the studio has concerns with ballooning budget of the film.
We'll have to wait and see what happens on this one folks. Thanks for the heads up Philip.
Then there has been more interviews after the above Quote which IMO prove that indeed the Gears of War movies is still coming out it is more likely a matter of when really.
Newer Interviews:
Extensive Stuart Beattie interview
October 8th, 2007
GamePro were given the opportunity to talk with Gears of War movie writer Stuart Beattie, in an exclusive interview. Here are some choice extracts from the informative article:
"The perception of videogames in Hollywood is changing slowly. Hollywood likes to do what's proven. They've already proved that books work, and plays can work, and recently that comic books can work. But they've yet to have a film be as successful as say Spider-Man, that's based on a videogame.
[...] While there are more and more videogame movies being made because there are more and more videogames being made, there still hasn't been that one that has hit it out of the park yet. At the moment, I would say the perception of videogame movies in Hollywood is: they are interested, they're intrigued, but they're still not completely sure if it can actually work."
As for the use of a 300-esque green screen approach,
"[...] That film was shot completely on green screen, which is amazing when you actually see the film. It's probably how we're going to do Gears of War."
[Referring to GOW] It's a planet and it's a bubble and it's a building. It's an epic sci-fi war and an enormous film. To get it made at all, the only way to make it for a price is to be on a soundstage. But the game also has that look, which is really interesting, so I think it will dovetail really nicely."
Beattie also hopes that the film will be "extremely collaborative".
As to our previous story, wherein we reported that the movie could be on hold, we received this very encouraging E-mail,
GEARS OF WAR is not stalled in any way, shape, or form. We are simply in the process of finding the right director. This is always a delicate and difficult task, and with multiple looming strikes, even more so. Be patient, stay tuned, news will come.
Gears Movie still on course
November 13th, 2007
CliffyB has been talking to the media about the status of the Gears of War movie again, which is something we are always very happy to see. The good news? The film is very much alive (despite the writers strikes it seems), so he tells Cineplex Entertainment:
"We are currently at the point where we have had a couple drafts of the script and now we are talking to different directors and trying to feel out who would be the best fit for it,"
"It has been a really fascinating process to learn how Hollywood works. [...] I just hope that whatever comes out of this is compelling entertainment and is very representative of the 'Gears of War' universe."
Here is the link the the site i got my information from, I am not sure how credible they are but the info seems right but thats my opinion.

I think the person that should play marcus is king lenidous from 300 and his friend that went back to sparta that was the only living out of the 300 should play BardDark_knight24
That's excactly what I was thinking. King Leanidous from 300 as Marcus Fenix. That would be sick.
lmao i love the way the people who were screaming that this movie was cancelled in the beginning of the thread completely shut up.
Anyways, being a big fan of the game, I really hope that they don't mess up the movie. It has great potential and hopefully it will be a blockbuster hit.
