thos pics are pretty abd quality. but then again the trailer kind of sucked. all it showed was flashes of gameplay which didnt allow anone to see any graphical fidelity. when are they going to release that play through footage at E3?

Where are the cows and sheep? Oh, I know, they are sitting in their rooms contemplating how they're gonna afford a 360 for Halo 3.pyoob

Wow, Halo haters seem to be ignoring this thread like the plague.TyrantDragon55
Nah, it's probably a coincidence and they're just all gone right now. They'll be here soon enough. Just don't jinx it like you did there. Cuz soon they'll be flooding this thread.
I Quote: "Possibly more interesting is that the armor will even collect damage over the course of the campaign. If you go into a battle and take a lot of damage, then that damage will stay with you so that by the end of a series of encounters the Chief's armor will reflect what he has been through."
Precise source on this one?

I will admit though, that is the one thing in here that I'm not 100% sure about.

I think I read that somewhere on Halopedia I'll try to find it, but after seeing the E3 07 trailer I don't think its true. I'll probably just edit it, and if it comes to fruition then its no bid deal.
**Edit: I looked it up, its one. I have no idea were I got two from.
Killzone 2 has nothing on this. Nothing. In fact, Killzone 2 looks like it's more of a copy off of FEAR more so than a wanna be "halo killer." Still, I am still more impressed by Crysis and Bioshock. But that is not to say that this game wont rock. 9.5 is my prediction. organic_machine
i think what has happened is that a couple weeks after E307 and the storm of fanboy crazyness has passed and so has the "killzone graphics is GOD" attitude. i never understood how any toon with a bit of logic could have stated that killzone was better graphicaly than halo 3. I mean i dont understand first of all how they can be compared. A halo 3 level is 16 KM large. while all we saw from KZ2 was a linear demo. and YET halo 3 was STILL able to pull much higher resolution textures, with Global HDR lighting (a first) and muchgreater environmental detail, with vegetation that has physics just like crysis (albeit a less detailed) and beutiful color everywhere. so what were people so mesmorized from killzone 2? more realistic gun models? or just the more realistic art style? and yes it does look more realistic. but on a technical level halo 3 has it beat in way too many ways. and if then they want to use the "well its pre alpha" (which 2 years in Pre-alpha is total ****) or "we dont have enough information". then they can, but at the same time they take down every dumb argument they have made.
rant OVER.
Out to everyone who said thanks for writing this, my pleasure. I enjoyed writing very much and I'm glad to see it was appreciated.Bansheesdie
oh i just remembered. since i can tell your part of the ARG group from your avatar, i was watching RvsB yesterday and noticed that on all the multiplayer levels those glyphs, similar to the one in your avatar were on every base. it goes all the way back to halo 1.Not sure if it was discussed on the bungie forums. im not a member but if it hasnt maybe you could bring it up if you are.

Even as a hermit, I have been impressed with Halo 3 graphically from the beginning. In fact, I think it looks better than the original trailer. Sure, MC is less detailed. But honestly, there is so much more in the game than the trailer. the lighting, the physics. It is an impressive graphical showcase of the 360. My only problem with the game might be level design. But that will be undecided until I play the game.
Although some of the information you've posted is a little iffy (MC getting worn down over time etc), pretty damn good post, and there's a reason all the haters are avoiding this thread.
However, I'm not going to excuse Halo 3 from the whole "It sounds better than it is" that I've always noticed. It also happened with Halo 2 (although Joseph Staten and co. never actually said they enjoyed it more than Halo CE), and although the elements they reported were in the game, it was just taken for granted and no one fully appreciated it.
What I'm most excited about is Bungie's whole online co-op dilemma. It actually makes me happy in knowing that the only reason online co-op is having trouble is because of the A.I
Another thing Bansheedie, I disagree with your opinion that the Chief threatening the Arbiter looked ugly. With dynamic lighting, self shadowing, and a reflective visor, I think that is pretty darn impressive.
Omg...
Halo 3 is now the #2 game on my list, after Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3.
I'll be having fun with:
1) Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3)
2) Halo 3 (Xbox 360)
3) Call of Duty 4 (Xbox 360)
Omg the multiplayer for those games will be awesome.
And dude, guy before me, Elisha Cuthbert is HOT ..damn she looks like a sexy pornstar in that pic :)

The part about the Chief's armor retaining damage is backed up bywhat Marcus Lehto said in the Behind the Scenes video last year. I don't know anything about it more then that.
And the Chief vs. Arbiter screen I love (its the best looking screen up there imo), the visor looks the best since the announcement. What I meant by "it looks bad" is that that canopy looks bad. It appears that the leaves are just cut off in some spots, thats is what I don't like.

The Girl Next Door?
sweet! im so glad this gae is coming out in september. this next month will fly by (summer always does) and the 2 weeks in school will be all i have to deal with before i get my hands on halo 3! yay.
PS - The Girl Next Door is awesome. It's like a comedic version of Scarface. Except replace the drug buisness with the...porn industry. :D

I'm sure he only meant they wanted to show the ruggedness of the Chief's battle from the beginning of Halo 2 when he first got the suit.
Then again it doesn't add up that from all the Halo 3 media we've got it's like he hasn't been scathed....

Yeah but she didn't really wanna be one did she? And that movie kinda made me realize porn stars have the same feelings just like us. Not numbed by the business they do.
Meh.
Is my response after looking at the photos, and reading the first post. Trying not to sound fanboyish. I enjoyed Halo 2, I'm sure this one will be a lot of fun as well, but it still gets a "meh" from me. Needs better pics.

You didn't read the post at all then.
Better pics
That is quite fanboyish mate. In fact, that's terribly fanboyish.

Thats pretty much my thoughts also, but this would only be a single player feature and we have only seen 2 in-game single player vids and one was pre-alpha were you never even saw the Chief.
Then you have pics like this one from halo3.com that shows the Chief with holes, scratches, and rust on his armor. Then there is the Emotion picture, the picture that is used as the boxart. Look at the Chief there. His armor is warped, scratched, burnt, dented, dirty, and more.

Man there are so many versions of the "official" boxart I don't know which one is real. I hope it's not the one IGN was saying it was, because it wasa little lame.
The one EB Games is posting up in their stores is alright, but the best one I've seen so far is the one TeamXbox was speculating on.
