This thread made my respect for Halo 3 grow immensely. However, I'm sure anybody could do this for ANY game (even if it was terrible) and make it look godly.
Still, nice work forcing all of us to buy Halo 3 :P.
I don't mean to beat a dead horse here guys, but here are some things they said about Halo 2...
"Halo 2" surpasses its predecessor in graphical beauty and combat intensity. "'Halo 2' is a lot like 'Halo', only it's 'Halo' on fire, going 130 miles per hour through a hospital zone, being chased by helicopters and ninjas," explained Jason Jones, the head of Bungie Studios, "and the ninjas are all on fire, too." The Master Chief and his marine allies return to battle the full complement of Covenant forces, as well as as-of-yet-unrevealed foes.
"Halo 2" is powered by a completely new graphics engine designed specifically for the Xbox hardware. "Our code squeezes every drop of power out of the Xbox," said Chris Butcher, one of "Halo 2's" engineering leads. "We're doing dynamic lighting and shadows, per-pixel everything, rendering gigantic, lush environments. The graphical features we're using are so advanced we don't even have buzzwords for them yet."
Not exactly accurate descriptions if you ask me.
One thing you should understand about Halo 2 tlcain is that, regarding the graphical comment, Bungie came through on that statement you quoted. Halo 2 was one of the most graphically impressive games on the Xbox, and of all consoles. You may be thinking of the glitchy cut-scenes, Bungie was faced with two options there, either add a load time at the end of each lvl and have the cutscenes run smooth or forego the load time and have cutscenes with a lot of pop-in textures. I think Bungie made the right decision by not adding load times to Halo 2.
For your first comment I can say much other then its kind of like what happened to Lionhead Studios and Peter Molyneux when they made Fable, their dreams were too big and their sights were too high. And in terms of size Halo 2 had immensly more going on then in Combat Evolved, the amount ofthings happeningon screen and the amount of ememies you fought was much more then before.
I hope that helps a little.
Outstanding article dude! You just brought 95% of all the people on this board more anticipated for Halo3! You also made the people that said "Halo2.5" to actually say "Halo3"! I think you revolutionised everything on this board, friend. Great job!
My only flaw is that there were a few punctuation errors and a few things where you did not SPACE words separately. But either way, it was well told.
But is it true that in the actual game, MC's visor WILL reflect off of everything in the cut scenes? Because in the E306 Trailer, MC's visor had actual reflections. Now, I am not seeing this. Is it just a unfinished visual feature that will be finished in the real game, or will the visor reflection not be in the actual game at all?

Everything down to the read-out on the back of weapons like the BR and AR will be visible off the Chiefs visor. Elite armor also has some slight reflection.
you should design the strategy guide for bungie lol o by the way is the enviroment destructable as in if I shoot a wall or pillar or misc items will it react as in show exactly where the bullet holes go and will it break gradually. an answer would be nice thx in advance

Yeah, copy paste a bunch of stuff mostly from Bungie themselves, put in pics, you have yourself a thread that people think is wonderful. 90% of the stuff doesn't matter. Talking about the fish and birds and trees of Halo3 is a waste of time.good job but why does it sound like you just copied and pasted

I'm really bothered more by the stuff people care about in Halo3 than the guy putting together a thread. If it had a bunch of stuff copied and pasted that will directly affect how fun the game is, then cool.I know I sound like a jackass, but really, people seem to be playing games for the wrong reasons.

I did write the thing. The only part that I really copied and pasted are all the Weapons, Equipment, and Vehicle sections along with stuff about gameplay. Everything comes from a quote mostly, so thats probably why it sounds "scripted", but it is mostly in my own words.
