Launch machine. She's treated me well.
Been a 360 owner since launch and Im on #7 right now. Please I dare someone to tell me its my fault and I didnt take care of it:P .RabbidDawg
Honestly, I can't see how it can't be your fault. 1, 2....I'll let that fall in the range of possible bad hardware. But 7? Yeah, me thinks it's the Indian and not the arrow on this one. One of 2 things that I see as possibilities here. You do something wrong with the consoles (eg: keep them in too tight a spot with little airflow) or you play them WAY too much.... and I seriously doubt that option B is really all that feasible. There, I did it...... and I wholeheartedly believe it too ;)

Hate to burst your bubble but your wrong. Every single one had more than enough ventilation. I did nothing wrong with the console. Ive been gaming since 86 so I have had plenty of experience with game consoles. They were 100% taken care of.
Honestly if you can play it to much then I need to just get rid of it. The 360 is the only console in my 21 years of gaming that has EVER caused me any trouble. It was the arrow not the indian my friend. The plain and simple truth is that the 360 is a poorly made flimsy, overheating piece of crap and the only reason I dont trash it is because of the games.
Believe what you want I dont care. I did nothing wrong and some of you people need to take of your fanboy blinders and I wholeheartedly believe that the 360 is faulty plain and simple and MS needs to get it right.
Funny how nobody evers mentions the 1 million+ PS2s Sony actually recalled. Or how you had to turn your Dreamcast and PS1 upside down to get them to work. Or leaving the lid of your NES open and wedgeing SOMETHING between the game and outershell to get the thing to read it. Console problems are nothing new, its just time to pick on the 360 i guess? DZBricktop
Um no its just the fact that I have never had any of those troubles with any ot those systems, and this isnt the PS2, Dreamcast, PS1, or NES forums. Dont get butt hurt just becasue we have trouble with this system. No ones picking on it. I guarantee that when its all said and done MS will have more defective consoles than any other console maker ever, and you can save this statment for future ownage on either end.
I love the 360 but its a faulty system plain and simple, so poeple need to deal with it.Â
Your argument about the Dreamcast, etc there is exactly what I was essentially doing. I haven't had ANY problems with my launch 360 and therefore I have a harder time believing the extent of these problems.
There was no fanboy in my statement. I am willing to accept faultiness in the system. That's why I said 1 or 2 system issues I can see. 7 is just a little hard to believe. I guess that if you sell enough systems even with a small failure rate you might get somebody who gets all bad ones, but the probability is just so low that I tend to take the Ockham's Razor approach instead. You've got to understand that it's much easier to believe the problem lies with you than with a 0.0001% chance (and that's giving the 360 a 10% failure rate which is astronomically high for a piece of consumer electronics).
Are all of them being plugged into the same extension cord or socket or whatnot? I read somewhere that the 360 can be pretty picky about it's electrical source and deviation from its preference tends to screw with it over time.
Thats my point. Ive haven't had a problem with my 360 or PS3 yet but ive had multiple numbers of every other console. Because you didnt have problems with them but you have with the 360, does that make it a crappy console or are you unlucky and im lucky? The fact remains a million plus PS2s were recalled, i personally went through 11, but you didnt have a problem. Does that make it a crappy system or was i unlucky and you were lucky? Its just a debate dude, dont freak out.Um no its just the fact that I have never had any of those troubles with any ot those systems,

This is my first and last time ever dealing with a microsoft console. Ive had this garbage of a console for 5 months and already im getting the red rings and disk errors on brand new games. Ill be damn if i waste money on another 360. Why the hell hasnt microsoft done a recall on these things. i have read so many other complaints about 360 sinse its release. then on top of that microsoft has the nerve to come out with another system called the elite. totally ticked off by this system. Total dissapointment.
Before i bought the 360 i did some reading up on it online and i saw all the problems people was having but i took a chance thinking maybe just maybe microsoft fixed the problem but five months into playing this machine it turns out to be crap.
The games are not that great to keep replacing a garbage console. the only game xbox banks on is the halo series. Atleast when the playstion2 had problems they had no problem recalling or giving you a new one for free without abunch of crap.
So i hope playstation3 hurry up and start pushing out games before this crap breaks. microsoft wont get another dime out of my pocket. cant believe people or on thier 3rd or fourth console. Thats crazy. Now i see why the xbox doesnt sell well in japan and other countries.
I just had to rant because this really ticks me off. after i spend all this money on this crap.
One more thing. microsoft if your reading this....Give people back thier money and stop being leeches.
Thats because your the special one. But atleast the ps2 did recall them and gave everyone a new one that had problems. Microsoft from all the complaints that i have read i know for a fact that they should have had a recall but instead of recalling thier product they rather make people pay more. I love games it doesnt matter what system i play on but when i buy a system and had it less than 6 months now thats a problem. Oh and no my system is not in an inclosed area. Telling from the poll above and from what ive been reading on the net microsoft should have been done a recall. Majority of people have had to replace the xbox360 more than 2 times.Coming up on a year, and no real problems so far. Other than it causes global warming. If they come out with an orange model I might buy a new one...
To date, the ps2 probably had the most defective consoles, though it also sold the most...Â

Once this thing breaks down im replacing it and trading it in on a playstation3 i like thier policies on broken products. im just waiting for them to produce more games which they will. playstation3 has only been out 4 months or so. dont waste your money 360 because your just gonna spend more money trying to get it fixed.

The majority of people that has xbox360 has replaced them more than 2 times you are a manority. which means your are out numberd. If 3 people go out and by a xbox 360 2 people will have problems. i had to replace my sons 360 2 months ago. i felt bad because i blamed him for breaking it then 2 months later mine started craping out. My brother bought his in janaury of this year and his is already breaking apart So yes after spend money on downloades games and not to mention xbox live this is unacceptable. For you to come on here and say people are talking out of thier a$$ after its widley stated all over the net even on this page that xbox 360 is garbage and poorly put together.[QUOTE="kryloc"]Thats because your the special one. PS2 recall? Maybe do to fire hazards, but not for all the defective diskdrives out there. I know plenty of people that did not get their diskdrive fixed for free. Â
Lucky one? Yes, because the 360 has a 90% defect rate and I'm one of the lucky 10%.Â
Had my system from launch and i have only ever had one problem. That was it forze once in a game but apart from that nothing at all
