COD4 is a new direction for the series, and is a pretty addicting online shooter.
Halo 3 sticks to what its predecessors have done, and is a pretty addicting online shooter.
Can't go wrong with either Imo.
ColonelWilks
My opinion as well.
I haven't played either in some time though.

ROFL INDEED!
I have to emphasise it - ROLF INDEED!!!
HAHAHA ROFL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ,plus you cant say it doesnt take skill, they both require the same amount of skill because its competetive multiplayer,DUH!
CoD4 is now played more than Halo 3.
Why is such mediocrity in a game being rewarded on such a large scale?
Halo 3 > CoD4
Here's why:
Halo 3 takes skill
Halo 3 has diverse gameplay
Halo 3 is about more than who-sees-who first

Agreed! THE END.
Haha. That has to be the quote of the year. More skill is required to play Viva Pinata then Halo 3. Any clown can pick up a controller and play Halo 3. It doesn't take an advanced degree to jump and shoot which is basically Halo 3 MP in a nutshellHalo 3 takes skill
Uncle_Uzi
Halo was good, and Halo 3 is just about the same thing, pretty much unchanged from halo 2. COD 4 finally kicked the WWII trend and made something fresh. I'd say COD4 owns halo 3. you don't believe me, check the stats and see what everyone's playing online.
It's played more because going up levels based on kills > going up levels based on wins Trickshot771
In professional sports wins matter more than scoring. The same should apply in games. COD4 ranking system is flawed. There is no penalty in it for poor perrformance and anyone who plays enough can roll their level 55 over and over and over.

 I'm sorry, I was laughing to much after that statement to read the rest. That would make a great sig quote though!
Wow...awful, AWFUL sense of humour. In no way is that funny. I'm not taking sides here. However, your misuse of the :D face is offensive to me.
The userbase of Halo 3 is what turned me off from it - everyone is either 12 or just annoying as heck. COD4, not so much. I can just play and not have to be called a noob a million times before the game even starts...Cwagmire21
There are just as many way too young players on CoD4, its not a problem exclusive to Halo or Call of Duty. It is a problem with Xbox Live itself, Microsoft does nothing to curb these 10 year olds playing M rated games online. I believe it even says in the Live ToS that you are supposed to be 17+. These young kids get their mommy and daddy's credit card info and go online on games made for adults and are universally hated. Microsoft stopped young kids from downloading M rated content why not just have gone the extra step and stopped these brats from going online with M rated games. All those die-hard activists who hate video game violence and say it is corrupting our youth would have loved the Xbox and turn all that backwards thinking and hate and focus it somewhere else.

why would MS care about that fact? sadly they dont. Its up to the parents and gamestores.
do gamestores even get a fine in US when they are caught for selling games to underaged kids?
Halo 3 has a target market of teenagers and younger. Proof: Halo CE and Halo 2 were rated MA, Halo 3 is rated M.Hitchy9
Hmmm... same rating dude...
But let me just put in my 2 cents real quick. I've played both games for quite some time, and as always... I end up going back to Gears of War. Gears and the original Halo = greatest lan parties ever. System link lives!

Yes but I do not know how severe. There was a ma' and pop gamer store in my town that got shut down though because they didn't ask for ID for anything and sold M rated games to anyone. This went on for years though so I do not know what sort of first time offence penalty there is or what would happen to one of the giant chain stores like GameStop.

they should be more strickt about that. still there are parents that will buy M rated games for their kids. or they ask their older brothers/sisters/friends to buy it. there is no way to ban underaged kids for playing M rated games. and as for the MS ToS: all they can do is give information about it and the ability for parents to change the accounts in a Childrens account. They've done their part. they're not resposible for it. the parents are.
Diverse Gameplay ??? Are you kiddin' me ? Unless you're just comparing Halo3 to Cod4, then maybe. I have to get COD4 finally, just so I can compare. You have to know that Halo3 is just a fun machine, I don't think it really takes skill. It takes knowledge of how to do stuff, and experience to know what is probably going to happen. ( I'm talking about the Online play of course) Halo3 is fun, what can you say...it definitely is, but COD4 is for those chess playing war gamers. Both games have a style that one must get used to. ONly in Halo I think taking down someone's shield gets tedious, because it revives anyway, so that limits any activity with the battle rifle. Teamwork is key in Halo3 online, so if someone talks smack about how you took their kill in Halo3, then pretty much say...buddy, you know this is Halo, right ? But if someone takes your kill and you say nothing, and they talk trash on you, because you have no kills, say...buddy, you know this is Halo, right ? There are a ton of stupid people online; including me! THE FINAL WORST MORONS ON HALO3 are the ones that think they do good with 20 or so kills and don't realize they died also 20 or so times. They both won and lost the game for your team. ( If you didn't notice, I played plenty on the Teamslayer mode...so I got to know tons of morons)

Actually, no game takes any amount of skill at all, so the joke is on you.
I agree though. CoD 4 is an absolute mediocre game. Want to know why? The series belonged to the PC. When they first made it for the xbox 360 (Call of Duty 2), the series utterly killed itself and was no longer of any value. Things that are meant for the PC need to stay for the PC. Things that are meant for consoles need to stay on consoles. Multi platforming was the stupidest idea they ever thought of.

You forget Age rating for games and such differs Im 16 and thats the age u need to be to play COD4
But yes i do get Mummys credit card to pay for my subscription, games, clothes and everything else in my life so that makes me a brat? good
If children didnt own or play xbox then it would have sold sooo much less and would have the support it does today, anyone who thinks the way you do is quite immature more so then i or any other 16- kiddies
Halo 2.5 is more of the same. david60639
I dont get why people refer to Halo3 as Halo 2.5 its graphicaly superior in every way,its in fact a stunning game that employs many advance graphical techniques, I would say ur confusing artistic direction with graphics although they are related they are un-comparable (LoZ windwaker vs GEoW)
The gameplay also has been highly tuned since that last to make it a more complete and slightly harder experiance.
Im not saying its better then Cod im saying its a great Frag fest shooter (better then UT3)

Halo 3 is Halo 2.5 IMHO. yes it looks better and has forge ans films but what did they do different in multiplayer. Nothing spectacular except make evrything shiny and look good. Please Log In to post.
