Wow, that's stupid. Microsoft never uses common sense in situations like this. Although one time me and my friend was playing GTA4 Party Mode, and this one guy got mad because me shot down his helicopter too mnay times. Then like 4 hours later were playing CoD WaW and he starts saying credit card numbers, addresses,Myspace URLs, and all that personal stuff. He said he could get us banned for like, witch I kind of doubt. But at least it's possible to be hacked.

F u microsoft, f u. I worked so hard to get those 13,000 on the effin dot.

nethernova

No, you didn't work hard. You played video games.

Hehe. For real.

And I dont get how you lose a sense of accomplishment? Just cuz there isn't something that others can see saying you accomplished something shouldn't matter. You still know what you've done. Its not like losing acheivements takes away in-game items or something like that. The sense of accomplishment should still be there.

I think you(Madden) just care what others will think of you with a low gamerscore, and I'm telling you they wont care. A high gamerscore impresses no one. Its just a representation of how much time you've wasted playing video games.

That sucks dude. I only have like 4000g, and I'd get pissed if I lost THAT. I don't spend that much time, but that's hours and days and weeks of my life wasted. I can't imagine having 13,000 and losing it.

Microsoft should be slapped for so many reasons. i stupidy bought the 60gb hdd and now have to spend more money on a memory card to transfer because even if i were to get my hands on a data transfer cable, i would have to be online to verify my identity..... and i have dial-up :P:P

so my gamertag was hacked like 2 months ago and i have no idea how. I called microsoft over and over again to get it recovered and they eventually did. When i recovered it for the first time on my xbox, i realized my gamerscore went from 13,000 to 70,000+ . I did not do this, the hacker obviously did. Now, a month since Ive had it recovered, i just saw my gamerscore reset to Zero. Now, i understand if they put it back down to 13,000, but to zero!?!?! I mean, do they not know they are the ones who recovered it!?!?! WTF? Also, now im labeled as a "cheater" on my gamertag, and can't get the achievments on my previous games back.************* I worked so hard to get those 13,000 on the effin dot.

MaddenBowler10

It's completely your fault

The second your gamertag was compromised you should have called Microsoft and the second you got it back you should have gone over it with a fine tooth comb and made sure everything was in order.

The second you saw that your gamerscore was higher it was YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contact Microsoft and report the changes

Instead you did the opposite, you just sat on it and allowed that score to represent you

You have no one to blame but yourself

Nope

Just know the difference between right and wrong

This isn't even something that people should have to read up on

Did you have something that was not yours? YES

Then you're in the wrong and you deserve whatever the punishment is

I don't understand how people fall for crap like that. If I ever get messages or friend requests from anyone I personally don't know IRL, I deny it and/or block the user who sent it. I don't put my info in anything that isn't the microsoft website, no third party sites or any of that crap.

I like how they say this:

Web site --- "Know what happened to your gamer score?"

Gamertag owner --- "No I dont, what happened?"

Website --- "You were caught cheating"

Customer --- "WHAT?"

Website --- "Click here if you want more info."

They make it sound like you won a prize.

Everything I've went through with my account, from it being hacked, to dealing with the microsoft customer service, then to having to create an alt account and not having the ability to play all 300 of my rock band downloads or other DLC off xbox live for a month, then for them to recover it and eventually take everything earned away from me, is not what I wanted to happen. The whole thing about you making me look "guilty" of everything that has happened to my account, is asinine. I shouldn't have gone through this, it wasn't my fault my account was hacked, i guarantee you that, and then apparently it was my "fault" i didn't report my high gamerscore to xbox when i was not fully aware of Microsoft being able to take that all away from me.

i know, that was pretty hysterical. It basically just told me that they look at accounts gamerscores and see any unusual achievement trends/patterns to see if they illegally obtained them. Mine obviously was, so they took it all away. I can't earn those achievements back, but i can for future ones. They use to completely ban the accounts but now they say they believe in giving people "second chances"

It's your job to take care of your gamertag

As soon as you found out it was compromised you contact Microsoft and the second you see an irregularity in your gamertag when you get it back you contact Microsoft

You refused to do that and therefore you were punished as Microsoft sees fit

Microsoft expects it's customers to be responsible with their gamertags, you chose not to and now you will forever be labeled accordingly

In my opinion MS should take away the Cheater label they have put on your profile...... "Instead it should read: I'm the moron that gave away my account information to a 3rd party. Luckily for me, MS took pity on me."

But whatever...........

I wouldn't be surprised if you were one of the people that tried to send your account information to one of those Hotmail email accounts because you thought you could hack someone else's account, haha. What comes around goes around.

And don't go telling people someone "hacked" your account. Your Live account cannot be hacked, but rather phished. You obviously gave your information away, whether it was intentionally or accidently, it still remains your own fault. Now man/women up!

I say just make a whole new gamertag. I'm looking at your card in your sig and it just looks weird with a GS of 60 but all those completed games. I'm really sorry to hear about that, it's stupid. If something like that happened to me (which actually something similar did) I'd freak out. My gamertag was hacked and $80 was spent on it, but I recovered it, and got the money back, thanks to the credit card company, not Microsoft.

Usually when people say there gamer tag was "hacked" it's cause they gave someone thier password to rank them or something. Nobody sits around and hacks gamertags.

Some people have no sense. I'm not going to sit here and be accused of lying about my account being "hacked" or "phished" I did nothing with it, other than that it was recovered on another person's console and I spoke with Microsoft about it for 2 weeks and it was a month after that it was finally recovered. I appreciate their effort with that, but I shouldn't be required to call them and inform them that my gamertag was changed, because 1. I already told them that they spent 1000 microsoft points with my linked debit card. So it would be pretty obvious they were going to spend that on something, and that was obviously the gamertag. That doesn't take a rocket scientist, and if I want my gamertag changed back, i would have had to do it myself. As for those accusing me of "giving away personal information" Let em tell you this, IVE NEVER GIVEN ANY OF MY PERSONAL INFO. My password recovery questions/answers don't relate. I don't see how i could be "phished" but i know how it works, and i can tell you i haven't signed up for anything that required my live email ID and password. Quit accusing me of any wrongdoing, because I didn't. Microsoft spent over a month on my account, and the whole fact that they didn't catch that my gamerscore was ridiculously high, AND ALSO the fact that they knew what my gamertag was before they recovered it, tells me they aren't keeping everything well documented because they would have found out that OH, that isn't the gamertag or gamerscore that was showing up before we investigated this.

I say just make a whole new gamertag. I'm looking at your card in your sig and it just looks weird with a GS of 60 but all those completed games. I'm really sorry to hear about that, it's stupid. If something like that happened to me (which actually something similar did) I'd freak out. My gamertag was hacked and $80 was spent on it, but I recovered it, and got the money back, thanks to the credit card company, not Microsoft.zeppelin_64
I can't, because i have a lot of downloads linked to this gamertag that i won't be able to use on another account.

Well no , its not just that. again 1. Can't earn back those achievements, I like to play games and achievements give me something to play for. 2. This is my last strike. If I have any file complaints, my gamertag could be banned. 3. Cheater label on my gamertag. 4. All the time wasted on games because the history has been deleted. Microsoft has annoyed me with their poor customer service and account handling, and this is how they choose to repay me.

Your right it is his fault. He was all worked up to gethis account back and whenhe did,he noticedhe had plus 57,000 gamerscore andfailed to say something. Probably becausehe figuredhe deserved to keep it after what happened and failed to read up on what MS does to people who cheat for gamerscore.

Not only that in a thread about people boasting about 1000 gamerscore in games, he's in there posting like he did it, when he has admitted to only getting around 300 or a little bit more in most of his games.

TC, you might have had your account stolen but you failed on reporting your extra gamerscore and then you flaunt it around. Think what if youhad mentioned it to MS when they got your account back. You would probably be okay right now.

Microsoft honestly don't care about you, or anyone. You have a small chance this will get resolved. I hope you do though, because it's completely pathetic what they did

Well, I'm not trying to be mean about it, but you only have yourself to blame. I don't understand how people get there gamertags "hacked". I guard my email and password that is associated with my gamertag as if it was my credit card # or social security #. I have too much time and money invested in my xbox live account, to let some douche steal my gamertag. I suggest you change your password like every 30 days.

quit posting in this thread, because i didn't do anything wrong. someone please tell me one person who in their right minds would call microsoft to report achievement boosting of their gamerscore. If you were me, you would have standed pat, because there was nothing you can do about it. anyway, im done with this thread as a whole, anyone who has the balls to tell me i did something wrong will have a lot of karma headed their way, and i really hope so.
