most overated game of 2007?

I thought assassins creed was going to suck hard and when i opened one of my XMAS presents and saw it i didn't even want to touch it. However i did and I'm absolutely loving every moment of it!

The problem here is people over hype games. I thought assassins creed was going to suck but when i played it i thought it was absolutely one if not THE best game i have played all year.

I over hyped CoD4 and i don't even play it anymore.....i spent like 10 hours on it and that was it. Halo 3 i also over hyped but it was still an amazing experience that i will remember for years to come.

There are no overrated games just people who get over hyped for one.

Not that it's a bad game. It's a great game! But not worthy of it's over the top hype...... (not worthy of half it's hype)

When I finished Halo 3 I was, like, "huh... that's it?................... (@_@)......."

+ Multi-player is nowhere near as fun as it should have been.

As far as Gamespot ratings go, I'd definitely have to go with Madden 08. That game is a complete train wreck, and is only worth playing if you have others to play with, and I don't mean on Live, because it's laggy as hell. 8.5? Gimme a break...

Shame that EA can't put out a decent game with the amount of money they have and the hardware they're working with.

QFt. People just don't seem to understand that Bungie couldn't change the game too much, or else it would screw up the formula.

What formula is that? Backtracking? I played it and wasn't disapointed ... but it still lacked oomph. Plus it had what I consider the worst final level and ending. Do I regret playing it? No. No I think it desrved as much praise as it got... not even close.

You're going to get a lot of Halo 3's. However, in my opinion it's Assassin's Creed. I rented it and it was good but not AAA in my mind.

Exactly, The Orange Box was the most overated. Everyone raved about how The Orange Box was five games in one. Well, they apparently didn't remember that they played some of them already.

IMO, Halo 3 wasn't overhyped. Lots of people liked Halo 2 and Halo 1 (and CE). But Halo 3 WAS overrated. It got 9.5 on GS, whilst Halo 2 got 9.4 three years ago. The problem with that... is that Halo 3 isn't worthy of 9.5. It didn't improve ENOUGH over the 3 year span. New single player campaign; not incredibly long, and pretty boring final level (anticlimatic). Very addictive multiplayer, like the second game. Had a "Forge" tool. They pretty much stuck to the exact same formula as Halo 2. Crappy singleplayer, packed with an awesome multiplayer.

Also, tOB is best on the PC. The 360 online is pretty much... dead. If you owned HL2 and HL2 Ep 1 before, you can gift those games to other people (for the PC version). If you play tOB online, you'll realize that the online has an incredibly active community, and it's fun. It's overrated for the 360, but it DOES have 5 games in one. Even if you've played EP 1 and HL2, they're STILL fun games (with good single players). Otherwise, there are pretty much 3 new games (Portal, HL2 EP 2, and TF2).

Def. Halo3... I had nvr played a halo game and every1 got me hyped.. Because of how Halo 3 was overrated i nvr thought it was thought good of a game...

dont start this crap all over again...most overrated wud have to be halo 3, BUT cod4 is being overrated now.....everyone is talking abt cod4 like its the second coming of Christ..sometimes even like its more significant.....and just incase some wise guy decides to comment on this statement saying thatCOD4 is the second coming of christ.....ITS NOT....Iron_Re4

Halo 3 is more overplayed than overated.. there's only so much you can play a game and be that impressed with it.

I've played all of them, and they were all a big let down, with the exception of Bioshock. Mass Effect is also a joke, way too slow for my taste. my gt is crazywayne287 check it out that's my proof. and don't say I'm a hater, I love my 360 and I'd consider myself the closest thing u can be to a fanboy, but i have both systems.
