[QUOTE="paulokoenigkam"][QUOTE="Ayessua"][QUOTE="magicalclick"] Come to think of it, I barely recall NG has any story to it. Basically he was out to get the dark blade back and that's it. But I have never thought of it when I was playing it. I would say it provide good variety of envirnments and enemies. Really good mix of puzzle, exploration, and combat. The gameplay kick ass. And I have never felt bored with it one bit. Somehow I have never thought about story when playing.
DMC4 on the other hand, great story and cut-scene. But I don't like the gameplay one bit. Ignore the extrememly repetitive gameplay, I still don't like it one bit. After I beat it, no more second play for me. (sorry if I bashed DMC)
Anyway, if you want story, play DMC4. If you want good action, play NG, or NG2 since I haven't get NG2 yet.

DMC4 is a great action game as well though. NGII is the king of the area, I agree to that. But DMC4 is in close second definitely. The setting in the game is great and better worked out then NG. The story is better, the characters are better and the cutscenes are just plain awesome. The whole vibe around the game is cool. The action is less good then NG but it's very spectacular and awesome. It's also solid gameplay.
Though NGII beats DMC4 in gameplay, it doesn't take away of DMC4 that it's a great game as well. They are just different. I enjoyed DMC4 a whole lot. I actually still play it every now and then.
I'm a DMC hardcore player, finished all the 4 games in all dificulty modes with S ranking on everything and stuff like that. And I'm really excited for NG2, I really hope it's hard, because from what I have seen, the gameplay is insane xD! (I only had ps1 and ps2 so I never played any of those previous NG games >_>, NG2 will be my first one :p)
Anyways... tomorrow's the big day! I don't remember being this excited for a game since DMC3, and DMC4 :p
Really? I'm like you man. I played DMC first too. But NG is on a higher level gameplay-wise though. The gameplay is so damn awesome that it alone makes you rate it above DMC. DMC is in a close second though, everything other then gameplay is better in those series.
haha if you like me I like you :P
yeah I saw many videos of NG2 and it just stunned me =O and all the DMC x NG discussion really caught me =3
I don't really care about action games' stories (only rpgs)
Yep I actually think the game has a faster pace, and more weapons, and more blood =D! The gameplay must be a cut above DMC4 but since I'm a fanboy ( :P! ) a couple of things will keep making DMC my favorite xD! (No character has such an awesome personality and looks like Dante :P!)
Actually they are different games, from what I saw, NG is more about killing your opponents as fast as you can without being hit, throwing blood everywhere which is awesome :D!
And DMC is more about looking good while kicking ass, and humilitate your enemy xD! (I seriosly love the combo bar XD!)
But then again... WOW! I can't freaking wait =) There aren't many action games like this :D Last one I can remember was um... God Hand (PS2) maybe? I also loved God Hand to an enormous extent :p
ya I'm a hardcore game player xD!
Though I do think every game needs a "really easy almost retard/anyone with 2 thumbs can finish this game" mode so everyone could play and not use the stupid "it's too hard" excuse... if the game plays well than it can be as hard as it can be! Unless it has really crappy controls or is glitchy... then it's just damn annoying. But of course... they need a few more dificulty levels for us hardcore gamers right? ;)!
Just one question, I really like survival/arcade modes (Like Bloody Palace on DMC) or something like that, that will make me coming up for more instead of just going through the same stages all over again, does NG2 have something like that? if it doesn't I don't care, but if it does WOHOOO! (I think that was the "mission mode" in NGblack?)
