I'm turning 15 next week and I don't talk trash on XBL nor do I make annoying noises through my microphone. I hate that people always complain about kids playing games. Isn't that who they are intended for? I go on XBL to play with my friends from school and to compete in clan matches etc., not annoy people.

I agree with most of that. But, XBL was not intended for 12 - 15 year olds. Its intention is to turn a profit, no matter what age. Its annoying that some 12 - 15 year olds 1.) play games that they themselves can not buy and 2.) trash talk and make annoying noises. I have no problems with the kids who play and don't do these things.
yes, i think everyone even 14 years olds have the right to play on xbox live. im 18 btw.. and i think that if they are paying for that hell yes they should be on xbox live. why not?

They should be able to play whatever games they want as long as their parents approve of it.
I could care less as long as they don't act all cocky. if you can't pay for it yourself and you have no reason to be cokcy its just a game and not real life. play the game shut your mouth and have a fun live experirence.
 I don't think its a bad thing for any aged gamer to be playing on xbox live as long as their parents are aware they are online and, they are playing age apropriate games.
not exactly. i mean... you can still have a 21 year old who is annoying as hell, and sounds like he hasn't hit puberty yet. i guess you can find a 14 y.o. who is 'mature' enough. (personality wise)

As mentioned by others, I wish Microsoft would develop a filter of some sort that would allow me to choose the age demographic (at or above my own skill level) that I wish to interact with at a given time

True.. I mean I was a young gamer on Live at one point as well, but I wasnt like most of these kids.
I don't know eny reason why young people shouldn't be on Live. Of course some of them are immature but there is so many immature peoples in all other ages.
Trying to ban younger peoplpe from a service aimed at children is kinda o.O. If you find 12 year old high-pitched american nerd voices annoying just switch off voices and play in silence...

im fifteen and i play xbox live a fair bit and i can tell you that adults are just as likely to trash talk and annoy people.....i act a lot more maturely than most adults on live.....i think it's more to do with where you are from....it seems like Americans just cant control themselves when losing, especially texans.
I don't think you guys should generalize, I'm 15 and don't have a squeky voice, hech I don't even use my headphones for the fear that somebody might start giving me crap just because I am on the younger side of gamers.
Anyone who pays the subscription has the right to go on Live. If you dont like how people sound you have the option to mute any player you want so whats the problem?

Young annoying kids are the reason I hate GEOW online I usually have to take off my headset to play that game online. I feel sorry for Halo 3 players cuz you all know its going to full of annoying kids shouting dumb crap out their mouths every 5 seconds.
i say anyone who wants to play can play as long as they do not harrass other people.. i find some 14 year olds annoying and some 23 year olds annoying it isnt really a matter of age
Well I am fourteen, and I am going to be turning 15 in August. I dont have a squeeky voice, some guy on live thought I was 18. I am not annoying like the little 10 year olds who constantly say "can you hear me?" I am not annoying, so dont hate on all the "little kids" though I wouldnt even call me that. I am mature, believe me, if you dont send me a friend request and lets game.

this very post annoys me, and i am 15....but yeah, it all depends, I have met some idiot 14 year olds and some pretty cool ones as i am sure everyone else has. We can't put them all in the same category. And btw, just because you had to justify that ur okay its annoyingÂ
It all depends on the game. Kids have every right to be on live and I have played with some young kids who were fine. It all depends on the individual and the game though, but if you have to make a rule than stick to the 17+ games being for the 17+ people.
