Should 14 year olds be on Xbox Live? (VOTE)

I don't think they should but it's been proven that the 10-14 age group provides more than 1/2 of Xbox live (Along with many others income)

its not really fair to target a certain age group and label them as immature. i have come across afew a small few young kids thru out my years on xbox live that i can actually have real conversation with ...something..lets face it..alot of young kids just cant do. i think the reasons why alot of people are annoyed of little kids playing games like halo2 or gears of war are the following:

high pitched voice: yeah..i said it. the voice  can drive a man crazy. anyone that had to agrue with a kid on xbox live should know what im talking about.

cockness: i honestly dont know where this comes from,but alot of the kids i have ran into on halo2 and gears of war have this overly large ego. some talk as if they're the masters of games and feel the need to tell others how the game should be played. 

immature: i have seen alot of more this on gears of war. does anybody know why 14 year olds feel the need to make boring mommy jokes? or how bout this classic "i did your mom lastnight"... sometimes i wonder if these kids even know half the nonsense they blab out.  a quick story: i join a random game of gears of war/ warzone. i ended up joining the team that was pretty much getting they're asses kicked (it was 8-3 and the game goes to 11) and my teamates were very pissed and felt like just calling it quits. soon after i joined 2 guys from our team had quit leaving only me and some guy(not a kid). he at first didnt want to hear any of my ideas on turning this game around and we ended up having a short fight over the mic. 

soon enough..we actually started saving enough other during the game and while at first he was abit bitter about me saving him..after a while he actually started to see where i was coming from. he later told me that he hated me because he thought i was insulting his skills by telling him what to do to win and i told him that was the case. we both ended up winning and became good friends

the point of my story is this...had that guy i meant been a child..what were the odds of him actually understanding to the reason why i started giving my plans on winning?

Or do like this one kid while I was playing call of duty 2 on live just played songs from the radio into his mike. Then just giggle like a school girl when we asked him to stop it. Its not that I think all of the kids are bad on live but, I can just about guaranty that all of the cussing, racist remarks, and poor sportsman ship is done by kids.

Well while the pre-pubes who act all tough are annoying as hell I like the variety.  I've even had 6 year olds on my team and I think they're funny as hell although their gaming abilities aren't the best.

I believe that the age doesn't matter, it's the person not the age that whines, curses or insults I've seen it from all ages, adults too, you're not immune to being dicks online, so while sometimes it is an annoyance to single out a single age gropu of doing something I've seen almost every age group do is unfair.

I don't care. If someone annoys me I mute them, simple as that. I don't care if they're 14 or 40.x-2tha-z

Ok....I admit that most of the 10-13 year old kids I play with are really annoying and real inmature, but I have also played with rather mature 10-13 that behave like young adults who just want to have a social gaming experience. On the other hand I have played with a lot of very rude 14-20 year olds that sing stupid rap songs on their mic and get angry when u take their weapons. Its goes both ways.....honkyjoe

Sometimes I wish that all the vile adults that apparently have wife and kids yet talk like they've just rolled out of a Juvenile Detention Center should piss off. They're the worst. Especially the ones that sound like they're about to cry when the team loses a round, and blames everyone but themselves, even though they're bottom of the leaderboard.

No kids on M rated games....EVER. Not just for content but for maturity reasons as well. For T and E...well, its on the parents.

I think that would be great.. But some 16 year olds are alrite. I myself am 18, so it doesnt really matter to me. The only problem with all of the ideas on this board, are that there is no way of enforcing them.

Its not so much of a probelm as it is an annoyance to people who are actually old enough to play the games you guys are on. They dont rate games T & M, because they want children to play them. If a game is rated Mature, it is rated that for a reason. Only people of the age of 17 are SUPPOSED to play the games. When your 13 and are playing Gears of War, I believe, regardless of what any of your parents or even what you kids think, its wrong. The playing of Mature games by kids is a complete annoyance to people that are of the age of the game because when I bought Gears of War, i did not buy it to play against 12 year olds online. I bought it because Im 18, mature, and wish to have competition between other people around my age. I dont want to boot up Halo 3 Beta and listen to a 10 year old tell me Im a **** and team kill everyone.

 I didn't vote because I don't believe in any of those reasons. Of course 14 year olds should be able to play Xbox Live, but no one can help the fact that there will always be annoying kids or jerks online. Not all of the kids that you speak of are stupid, so it would be unfair to judge all of them like that. Besides, that age group is not the only one that has annoying jerks in it.

Most of these kids are extremely cheap and put their kill count over their team playing, completing the objective, and just having fun.

and holy shi* if they ever become host. u so much as kill them in multiplayer and they'll ban you on the spot.

honestly, I cant believe the stupid predudices of the average gamer. If its one thing that puts me off online gaming in general its threads like this. Make a mistake and boom, a whole load of people start swearing at you. "Just Having Fun" doesnt seem to come into gaming nowadays. Kicking younger people off Xbox live seems ridiculous, and frankly I am surprised it is even suggested. There goes my faith in the tolerance and decency of fellow Xbox live players.

I personally don't mind kids being on MSN as long as they don't shout and behave in a mature way. The high pitch voice doesn't bother me, except in circumstances like this:

exactly, i dont mind younger kids who behave themselves but like you said, the ones who try to make fun of you for ur kill count or the ones who shoot u cuz you took a weapon they wanted shouldnt be on. older guys can be just as bad, ive had soo many mom jokes thrown my way its not even funny, you've obviosuly never had sex with my mom unless ur my dad, so why make such an obsurd claim. these kinda peope really ruin the online experience for every1 whose just there to kill time and have fun

Sure 12 and 14 yo olds should be on Live, but I think that the age they register their Gamertag as would prevent them from playing certain R-rated games
