I downloaded the Skate demo last night. EA has lost their mind. The controls are horrible. The charm with Tony Hawk is easy controls for simple tricks and you have to work for the harder ones, and really hard to chain stuff together. Skate has some stupid right thumbstick control that you pull down and flick up to jump, even on a ramp. It makes it way to diffucult to pull off tricks. EA tried to make a Total Skate Control like Fight Night and failed miserably.Has anyone played this demo and felt the same way?skelly7483
WOW!! The controls are too complicated for you?!?! HAHAHA! Then you are the epitome of "casual gamer", "Ooh it takes too much skill, I need to have one button do everything for me!". Go play American Wasteland then or the totally craptastic Project 8, then.
This is probably the only game that EA has gotten right in a long time. I love the way Skate controls. It's about time that we got a good skate game, where you don't grind power lines and ride on roof tops. I for one welcome the realism.
I think it's very realistic feeling in the way you grind, ollie, kickflip, etc. It all seems natural to me. Not like the crapfest that the Tony Hawk series has become. I applaud EA for actual doing the unthinkable: Making a game I can enjoy. I will definitely pick this game up when it's released.
