Wow, I'm surprised by all the negative comments. I actually thought it was a pretty good conference that showcased some really cool new features. The voice recognition was absolutely stunning, especially considering that it was taking place live on a stage in a crowded conference hall. I also really liked the weapon customization in Ghost Recon (and all future Tom Clancy games) and I think that the technologies that they showed in the kinect fun labs demos look like they could be incorporated into future games well (especially the object scanning). Plus, the bing voice search feature looked amazing. And don't forget the announcement of live TV and DVR functionality. Yes, it was light on big exclusives, but there are so many awesome multiplats coming out that I'm not too disappointed (it would have been nice to see some new IP's though). Overall, I'd say it was a solid B.
Supposedly, people now are going to be way too lazy to use a controller to navigate through their Xbox 360's menus. Wow, are we all suddenly going to turn into blobs if Microsoft persists in this direction? Mawy_GolombBlobs existed before Kinect arrived. Nothing has changed. The Kinect menu is geared towards people(mostly casuals) that don't want to learn the controller. Nothing wrong with that.
...Plus, wow the Kinect controls in ... Ghost Recon are mind blowing. Sold me on Kinect.darth-pyschosisMy thoughts exactly. Bravo. On the whole, though, it was a good conference- showing off the future of Xbox 360 as more than just a videogame platform.
I didn't watch it, but if all I see is that Microsoft played the Halo card and that was pretty much it. Other than the Kinect stuff, most of the games are multiplat. We already knew about Gears of War 3 and Forza 4. I actually thought Microsoft would show off a stack of games since the company has not brought out hardly any exclusives this year.
I don't even have an xbox, are people ignorant? That conference was great. The games will be shown by the developers, Microsoft primarely show the future of the console not the games, and from what I saw as an ps3 owner the future of the 360 looks sharp.

Which are reasons why someone would buy/use their products? Some people like more then a couple rehashes and motion controls. I agree. I was expecting some cool new features, some HOLY CRAP I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS COMING games (KOTOR3. What? A guy can dream...can't he?) & some more exclusives. I was even falling asleep in the office at my desk while watching the Kinect portion of the conference.[QUOTE="vashkey"]

No they are supposed to show exclusives and a reason why you should buy / use their product. Yet they show nothing new just a bunch of kinect crap, halo and gears.Darkslayer16
hahaha :P i wouldn't insult the number ''0'' by giving it to the MS conference...no no; 0/10 is way too much score...i don't know how many casual gamers and moms watch E3 (if any, in the first place) so they really should have concentrated on announcing games which the hardcore might fancy..too bad we were let down
EDIT: had my friend walk in on me while the Elmo part was going on (jumping and dancing) and he was like ''what the hell is that'' and burst out laughing :D

I had the secretary at work walk pass me while the Tomb Raider gameplay was going on & she thought I was watching....you know what (because of Lara's moaning everytime she lept). They're just doing what Nintendo did with the casual market. Kinect was pretty sucessful last year and has helped keep the 360 in the sales lead for the last several months. I remember Bill Gates saying that 'motion sensing is not the future of gaming' back when the Wii was released. Now after years of getting trounced by the Wii, Bill and company are nowfollowing and captitalizing on Nintendo's strategy. Trust me Nintendo is flattered. To all 360 fans out there, you are now experiencing the pain that hardcore Wii oweners experienced with the heavy focus on casual games...lol.

Judging by your gamerscore, you'll play it anyway.

Tomb Raider looked excellent, but my hype was lessened a little because of the huge Uncharted vibe i got. don't get me wrong. it was still awesome, but it felt more uncharted than tomb raider. Still, probably the highlight of the show for me (even though Lara's groans were getting annoying)slickvic1990
this... tomb raider is about solving puzzles not action and cutscenes :?
i had to work and didnt get to watch any of e3 conference.
someone fill me in on Youtube,Bing and Xbox Live tv.
When do we get youtube? and what will bing do? allow us on the internet? and whats Live TV? thanks.
BTW Tomb Raider looks sick. i hope it sticks with me like the very first Tomb Raider i still remember that game well.
The only things that really appealed to me during the e3 conferece was the gow3 footage and only one of the kinnect game titles: ghost recon; the kinnect customiztion feature was neat although the gameplay still needed a bit tuning. Other than that I was pretty dissappointed with microsoft conference this year.
It was pretty funny watching the people interacting with the some of the kinnect software especially the 2 guys showing off the football software....lol
[QUOTE="Words-of-Sorrow"]This is what I was thinking. This hahaha no big suprises tho, I have noticed something when Kudo Tsunoda shows up, the show declines instantly........lolI think it was better than last year. Not at all great, though.

sucked but i think last year wa sjust slightly worse.....
*sees halo 4 trailer*
NO SCRATCH THAT F*CK IT F*CK THE WORLD AND F*CK EVERYONE IN IT, this wa swya worse just from that, this serise has been milked to death whats next another assions creed thats exactly the same as the other 3 and GOD D*MN T
Is it just me, or is the ability to speak a few lines in MassEffect 3 instead of hitting a button just completely underwhelming?? I that how they decided to integrate the Kinect into hard core games? Really??

Yep. Honestly I think having to speak out loud to the game ruins the immersion factor, if anything.
Hm.
Dance Central is still the only game that i would consider purchasing for the kinect....
If i had an XBOX i would be pretty sad with their conference, from an outsider's perspective it was really bad and uninteresting, if they keep going this route i will ditch them again next gen.
I was let down. There wasn't a new game announcement that I'm now interested in. I was at least hoping for maybe Shadow Complex 2 but nothing. Doesn't really matter though. I'll be playing Gears 3 for a while and then Battlefield 3 and AC Revelations comes out.
I'm probably the only one and that's ok, but I really like the new dashboard. On a side note I really like it on windows 8 and Win Phone 7 as well (have the HTC Arrive) , and that's pretty much hated by everyone else, but what are you gonna do right.
There's enough games coming out for the 360 that I plan on getting in the next year that I'm completely happy with the conferance. Although they didn't show them here game for game I still know they are coming so all is good. Loving my xbox and the future looks good to me so this conferance probably seemed a little better than it actually might have been. I'm giving it a B.

I have the HTC Arrive as well, awesome phone. I like it way better than that iphone crap I used to have. The iOS is incredibly outdated.
I enjoyed the show, about what I expected. Only real surprise was the Halo 4 trailer.
I completely agree with you.. There actually was alot of interesting stuff!I thought it was really good.
Excited for a lot of the slick Kinect integration in Mass Effect 3, Ghost Recon, excited to see what happens with Minecraft.
I also have Dance Central/Kinect Sports so I'll be picking up part 2 of each.
Halo: CE remake is also going to be awesome. Halo 4 was just a cut-scene, I'd like to see some gameplay before I get really excited about that one.
Love the darker tone of the new Tomb Raider, that has a lot of potential.
Wish they would have had some MechWarrior gameplay, Ace Combat gameplay, and Battlefield gameplay.
Overall though they showed a lot of stuff that has me interested/excited.

It's not underwhelming if you realize how terrible voice commands over microphone has always been, you guys are just wanting to hate on it is the problem.
The demo was slick, every command registered, and fast. Which is what really impressed me, if it is half as fluid as the demo was then you'll be able to effectively play the game without pulling up a single ability wheel/command screen.
I like that they didn't try to fit gesture commands or some sort of motion tracking in Mass Effect 3 as that game would just feel awkward with it. However, voice controls in addition to standard controls is perfect.
I think it was better than last year. Not at all great, though.
Words-of-Sorrow
Same here. They actually announced games this year that weren't for Kinect. All I can remember of last years was videos for games we knew about and way too much Kinect.
