Hmmm, good question. For me, and all my friends, we played Pokemon endlessly on our GBA's. We were young, and obsessed. On consoles, I had a PS1, but it would probably be my first ever game on PS2, GTA 3, that made me a serious gamer. (This was at the age of 10, lol). For this gen, it would probably be the level of GRAW where you have to defend the embassy that really signified the dawn of the next gen.
The game that instantly hooked me was The Legend of Zelda. Released the same month I was born, I took it as a sign. when i was old enough to read/speak i was already holding a controller. and guess what i was playing? Yup my cousin's Legend of Zelda...........Ahhhhh the memories.........
Gears of war...and im saying this because its a shooter of its own style no game trys and to adapt cover with fast tacticsflanking maneuvers...Over the top bloody action wat more do you want
Metal Gear Solid that was the turning point for me since before that i just played games for the sake of it and didn't really care about them and you could say that turned me from a casual gamer to a hardcore gamer.
