"X3" sounds great!!! or even "XBOX ZERO, X ZERO" as someone suggested. My idea... well I thought of plenty but you have to think how it would look on the console and "XBOX 360" looks great and all of my ideas would of looks funny and too intelecual for a gaming machine so I think "X3" would be the best choice to go with.

I think XBox has become an institution, therefore Xbox3 or X3 for short would be good enough. I think giving it names like Alpha or Thunderbolt are just lame, it needs to be simple, minimalist and easy to say, 3 syllables max and not something from a 1970's spy film.

Why do people keep suggesting X3? They don't want it to be numbered like that. PS4 and X3 which sounds better?

I think they should call it the Ybox...............JK i really dont know but i like X3, but again they would not name it that because that sounds inferior to say....Playstation 4. Like someone stated previously they will probably have a brand new name. I do not know what i like, but i think it will be called Xbox 720 just because that is higher than 4 and because it continues their little degrees deal.

im telling you right now there is no way they will call it the xbox 720

they called it 360 simply because it was a "revolution" or full turn around

that doesnt imply that all consoles henceforth will be increments of 360 degrees

if it was the x3 --- like the N64, it could be known as the MSX3

but as some of you have mentioned - the fourth playstation might sound better compared to the third xbox

I like the idea of X3. Has a nice ring to it. I agree that Xbox 3 doesn't work. Xbox 720, aside from being double 360, makes little sense.And Xbox 361 or something along those lines is just plain stupid. Where's the logic in that? I hate to say, but Xbox 720 would make more sense than 361.

But like you said, maybe it's time to drop the Xbox thing. But then again, it's still an Xbox, and would probably maintain its name. Not to contrast and compare too much, but Nintendo has always kept Nintendo in its name, as has Playstation. Not saying they should be like them...I'm just pointing out the fact that it's the name of the product.
