I say Gears of War is number one. GRAW 2 looks excellent too but the ground textures are blurry as hell.

The Darkness, the character models for each enemy is amazing. I'm sure my opinion will change by the end of the year (Bioshock) (GTA IV) (Halo 3)

i dunno why ppl seem to always say gears, caus yes it does look good, but honestly go look at the real world...nothing looks like that, i'm a 3D artist so i spend alot of time paying attention to how things like light reacts to surfaces such as skin, and concrete.
