I would have to say The Darkness. It may not be as technically impressive as Gears of War, overall, but its art style is a hell of a lot nicer and just plain gorgeous. And I'm a bigger fan of Darkness' realistic environments. It'll probably be the best-looking 360 game until Bioshock comes out, and then Mass Effect after that. Gears is showing its age a bit.
DiRT is also a good choice. Speeding down one of those beautiful tracks in that game with gorgeous car models all around you bumping into each other and dirt flying everywhere is probably unmatched anywhere, both in terms of graphics and especially FUN.

The first game I played on my Elite was DiRT. By dear god you should have seen the look on my face. At the start of each race it shows 3 close ups on different parts of the car....Drool!
I would have to go with GOW too. it may not be the best looking anymore, but it was among the first games that showed me what next-gen was about. i mean, my jaws dropped to my floor so hard my dad wondered if i fell to the floor. well, almost. among other games that impressed me (to be a little off topic and forum) resistance and formula one for PS3 looked great. assassins creed and bioshock look like they will bring graphics to a new level. and heavt rain. (sorry fo going off topic, i'm just mentioning grapihcs in general. so please don't start trolling just because i like both the high-end systems. :P)
I have to say Vegas. Mainly becuase the enviroments look amazing. With slot machines everywhere getting busted up during combat and windows having locational destruction. In gears windows don't even break when you shoot them nor do mirrors or anything else that'sss. And I don't dig Gears dark style I prefer the brighter environments that look more realistic.
I think Vegas has the most impressive character models I've ever seen in any game. Well, at least when it comes to your dude and your team. Damn-near photorealistic. Wouldn't mind if the entire game was 3rd person for that reason alone, but then it'd be too similar to the GRAWs.
id would say either Project gotham racing 2 , Dirt, or Graw 1 or 2. WHY do people keep saying Gars. Gears overall ahs the "best" graphics and when i say that i mean higher poly count etc. But it doesnt look "best" when you see that everything is basically grey and when i tihnk of graphics i also add in physics. the physics were terrible. When you walk voer a dead body you kick him as if he was an empty can. I think gears is overrated visually especially since peoples bodies arent that big and also the fact that everything has the same color envirnment as everything else which is pretty unrealistic dont beleive me? look out your window where ever you are.

although i dont really like jumping onthe early train id have to go with yer name and say bioshock but as for games out there id have to say DiRT orgears
Wow buddy you better not be serious. I wouldnt look at that game again if i had a loaded gun to my head and they threatened to shoot me if i dont look at the tv.
Anyway, graphics-wise, I hate to be trendy but I was impressed with quite a bit of what Gears of War had to offer. I understand that there are things that could have been done better, but I was really pleased with the way the water looked, or the way that when there's a dead body in the water the blood runs with the current. I was very impressed with that. It was also one of the only games that I've seen rain handled very realistically. I'm also easily impressed by bump mapping.
Oblivion is a good looking game to a point, but I think it has a lot of ugly textures and the speech animations are very much off.
I think the first 360 game that REALLY "wowed" me was GRAW1...I think that was one of the games that truly defined "next-gen" games in terms of graphics. Then GeoW took it to a whole new level. DiRT definitely has teh greatest graphical achievement for racers. I think it's safe to assume that Mass Effect will be placed in this category once it comes out and we get our hands on it...
