I got my original 360 in april of 06 with Perfect Dark Zero and Oblivion. I'm on my 5th xbox now tho and only one of those was a three red lights issue. The others were all disc drive issues and I had to go through third party warranties to replace them.
A friend sold it to me along with Halo 3, BioShock, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, four controllers, two headsets, a disc cleaner, and a Gears of War faceplate for about $200. **best deal ever**
I was gonna get a PS3, but that bargain was one I just couldn't pass up :):)
I bought my 20GB premium on launch day after 24hrs in line, and bought Perfect Dark Zero, then the next day or two picked up CoD2 and Need For Speed Most Wanted
I got mine bright and early, the same day as the PS3 release. Everyone who was buying a PS3 looked at me funny, but I got such a great deal on it:

20gb w/Forza 2 and Marvel Alliance in the box. I purchased that in Nov 07. I purchased Naruto with it for $60. That was the first of many games that would fall in the "Sucks for $60, great for $30" category.
Bought a 360, beautiful HD ready TV and oblivion in august 07... best purchases I ever made, cept oblivion which I did not like at all and promptly bought gears of war :)
