I have a couple questions for you? I am white, I can say with confidence that I have never dropped that word in my life. But are you playing in the Underground section on Xbox Live? If so then maybe you need to go somewhere else because you obviously can't handle certain words. Man up dammit, quite being whiny and trying to blame a whole service! YES....Finally somebody raises this on going issue.

I've been a XBOX live member since September and all I ever play is GTA4 and UNO.

Those are my favorites games so far and I spend countless amount of hours online playin them BUT it is wild the amount of racism i face playin on live each day.

As a young black man im starting to get very tired of all of this racism and N-BOMBS all day on live.  

I never forgot the day Obama won the election....It was havoc on Xboxlive ...

"N#$%^  this and N#$%^& that!!! Yall finally Get your N#$%^& president you N$%^&...ETC ETC ETC."

That kind of behavior is unexceptable...And it makes me sick to my stomach! 

I've heard some terrible things said while playing games; this includes racism, sexism, and bigotry, not to mention sexual orientation slander. It might sound cliche but if the parents were paying attention to what their kids were up to, maybe the problem wouldn't be so prominent. I'm 25 and there's no way any kid of mine would be allowed to play online without me there knowing what other people could possibly say to them. These games are predominately played at home, and you can't tell me that someone in the house isn't able to hear their child screaming out these terrible things. I'd love to be able to sit online and play one of the more popular games such as COD4 or GOW2 without having to hear some brat sing the latest Neo song or call someone else a Jew, but its not possible anymore. All in all you have to ignore it, and when you do meet some people that can carry on a civilized conversation, add them to your friends list and hope that they're online when you are.

that is a very good way of putting it. sadly there are many people these days who think its ok to talk crap like that (mainly kids of 10-20), winds me right up. if i hear racism about skin colour or otherwise, or other discrimination, i usually tell them to shut the hell up, followed by reporting them.

When I was younger, I wouldn't take too kindly to racist comments, but now I'm just like 'whatever'. I'm entirely oblivious to pretty much any racist comments, especially ones that are heard on XBL, because it's almost laughable to take them seriously. I mean, it's not like any of them are going to take their mic's off, come to my house, and say the same things to my face. Seeing as how I'm 6'4", that wouldn't be very advisable, anyway :) Seriously though, it's really just a matter of ignoring the ignorant and choosing your battles. it's foolish to waste your emotions and energy on half-lives like the majority of people on XBL. As most of you have probably already inferred from my gamercard below, I am, in fact, black. However, I am a first-generation African American (first to be born in the States in my immediate family), and my personality could easily be compared to that of someone of a different race, since I don't act, dress, speak, or share the same interests as a typical African/African American would, and though I've had some acquaintances when I used to live in the U.S. (I currently live in Kuwait), I quite literally don't have any black friends (I have three friends from Sudan, and one from the same place in Africa as me, but he's 1/4 Indian and Australian). So I guess that is why terms like the "n" word don't offend me as much as one would think. Regardless, no matter what "kind" of black person you are, or any other race for that matter, you shouldn't let racist comments and rants get to you like that. Retaliation to to things like that is what keeps the whole damn cycle alive. If every single person on XBL ignored every single negative comment that was made towards them, racist or not, everyone would eventually stop, right? Common sense, really. Something, unfortunately, a great deal of people on this Earth lack sometimes. After posting earlier I just read the above, and its going to take kids like this to make a change happen. Its nice to see there are 15 year olds (or younger according to many of the posts) that understand the world around them and know that not all people are the same way.

How did you know it was a white person that said that? I mean you didn't see their face right? At times it can be hard to tell just by their voice if they are using the headset that came with the console. You shouldn't hear things and take it out on somebody because you are offended. I've found its a much bigger problem with games kids play (under 18) like Halo 3 - hence I don't play it anymore.

COD4 and COD5 is not nearly as bad - I seldom hear anything bad.

Rainbow 6 is played by alot more by adults, hence I hear almost no racial stuff.

Hence - play less Halo 3 and try to play with friends more rather than strangers.

When is this a "white" country? That thought alone will help keep people seperated. You cannot say get over something until you've walked a day in someone else's shoes.
